About this property

Mama’s House

Step away from it all when you visit Mama’s House. Sit at the kitchen table and watch the birds and wild deer, or relax in the outside rockers and breathe in the country air and enjoy just the quiet.
We’re 35 minutes from Waco, Baylor campus & McClane Stadium, and Chip & Joanna’s The Silo’s. Valley Mills may be small, with Hwy 6 running through the middle, but it has some unique shopping and excellent places to grab a bite or just a cup of coffee. Gatesville, and Clifton are “just around the corner” also.
This house is in the country, 5 miles from town, and sits on the northern corner of the Damnrox Ranch, where you may see cows, chickens and an occasional guinea fowl.
Although the house only sleeps 4, at Mama’s House kids are always welcome, just bring you bedrolls and sleep on the floor. Additional fees over 4 guest will apply.

I am from a small town but large family and the phrase Mama's House is the best was to say what this home was. It is adorable,with a large kitchen, bedroom, and master bath.. Being able to see 3 doe and 2 bucks eating only a 5 feet from where I had my coffee was the best added bonus. This is a nature lovers paradise for sure.

The property is as advertised! Loved the welcome letter and the friendship bread! I couldnt stop eating it! We loved our stay very clean and cozy Hosts are super nice and if anything is needed they are right down the road! Home is located out in the country and its amazing with all the wildlife and quietness. We highly recommend staying here you will enjoy it!

Even when …..

Even when the stay is sad due to a loss. Joel and I were so loved and cared for by Gayle. This is our second stay at Mama’s house and we love it here. Dog friendly and you will be part of a working ranch. Seeing each cow and the beautiful birds gives such an interesting and relaxing ambiance!

This property will truly take you back to "the old" days. Moma's house is much as you would imagine being at your grandmother's house in the 60', 70's or 80's! Very clean and comfortable.

Love this house

Very cute homely filling house very peaceful no issues. Everything was great. Love the wildlife love seeing the hummingbirds. The deer came up to eat. It was such a peaceful trip. Definitely want to go back.

Loved it.Will book again.

The property was just as described. The host went above and beyond with dog treats and friendship bread waiting for us. We had never seen so many deer right up close to the house. Lots of beautiful birds at the feeder and bird bath just outside the breakfast window. Watching the guineafowls come by and feed at the house was very entertaining. Couldn't be happier with the stay.

Peaceful and Beautiful

Owner made friendship bread and pup treats to great us. Home was beautiful and a excellent price for a long term such as we needed. We can't wait to go back. Cow's came to feed and in the morning birds. Bed very comfortable and towels were Lux ... Had hairdryer so don't bring yours and also soap for dishwasher and washing. Again, don't bring yours. We brought all incidental's and didn't need them but used ours anyway. Gayle Cross great VRBO hostess!
