Quiet, Central, Free Level 2 EV charging, Close to I-83/Route 30, Country Vibe
Highly rated. EV charging (Level 2, Tesla and J1772) included at this peaceful, centrally-located, classic 19th century Pennsylvania home. Minutes from the intersection of I-83 and Route 30 in Emigsville, Pa., yet with a rural vibe and silence of the country. Quiet neighbors, host lives next door. Kitchen, office, living, dining, three bedrooms with two queen beds and one futon double. Shaded back deck for outdoor eating. Park right in front of your door or enjoy off-street parking. Well-equipped kitchen, coffee bar with assorted teas and snacks, laundry, Adirondack chairs on front porch and outdoor dining in back. I keep you clear if it snows.

Always a pleasure. Gabriella always leaves my place clean and tidy. The only guest I've ever had that runs all the towels and sheets through the laundry and leaves them nicely folded.
This was a great home away from home. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Check in and check out was easy and convenient. It was a great launching spot to meet others for activities and also a comfy spot to just chill. A thorough and thoughtful accommodations. Paul is an outstanding host.

Paul was wonderful to work with. The house was so comfortable, welcoming, and well supplied with special touches. It was very clean and suited our family perfectly. The location was very centralized to what we needed as well.
The house was clean and well supplied. The communication from the host was great. There was plenty of parking and it felt like we were close to everything. Great stay!
Paul had this place absolutely set up perfect for us. We didn't have to ask him a single question during our stay because everything was labeled so well. Very cozy and perfectly located for us. Would definitely book this place again in a heart beat when we come back to visit the York PA area.

Thank you for your kind review. Looking forward to hosting your family in the future.
Quiet, clean, and cozy! Host was very responsive and accommodating. The home has everything you need, and the thoughtful touches Paul added created a memorable experience. We were in town to visit family for Thanksgiving, and the kitchen was perfect for preparing a few dishes to take with us. This will be our go-to place to stay when visiting our family.

Thank you for your kind review. You were the most perfect, tidy guests. The kitchen was as clean as my last reset. It didn't even look like anyone had used it, let alone cooked a Thanksgiving dinner. Your even left me some ham in the refrigerator with a thank you note after we chatted and said you would give me some. :) It made a delicious sandwich during reset.
The VRBO was perfect, clean and accommodated my family for a weekend wedding. Thank you so much!

I welcome Lucinda's family anytime. They went to an extra effort to clean up everything. If I didn't have to clean between guests, anyway, I would have thought it was already cleaned. Even made their beds.
It was perfect! The attention to detail was amazing. I can really tell that Paul cares about his guests! He has definitely raised the bar for my expectations of a vacation rental. We will definitely stay here again!!!

The owner lives next door if you need anything. For a 124 year old property, most everything was updated and nice.
We had a fantastic say at this location. The host was accommodating to any and all of our needs was kind and polite. We had absolutely no issues with our stay, the host or the accommodations. Would highly recommend a stay in this location with this host. Communication with the host was easily accessible, prompt and courteous.

I enjoyed seeing a family enjoying the house over Christmas, complete with your own decorated tree! Your all welcome back anytime.
My family had a wonderful stay. The house is adorable and well equipped for cooking meals or just enjoying the views from the back deck. Our Tesla had no problems when plugged into the available EV charger.

I would welcome Jennifer and her family back anytime. I walked in to clean the house and it looks as clean as it did before they arrived. Great communication and super quiet during their stay.
We were in York for a sporting event and stayed here for the weekend. It’s one of the best rentals we have visited. The whole home is upgraded with amenities around every corner. Very comfy beds and a lovely back porch. Paul was attentive to our arrival and made us feel very welcome. I would hands down recommend this location to anyone visiting the York. Avoid the hotel and enjoy yourselves here! Thanks again, Paul.

Thanks so much for your gracious review. It was a pleasure hosting your family. Hope to see you again sometime.
This was a perfect location for us to use for visiting family in the area! It was only 10 minutes away, well equipped, and quite comfortable. The host was super communicative and easy to contact. The garden was also a lovely place to hang out in the evenings. Stairs are a bit narrow, but we felt that only added to the character of the place. Very comfy; we'd love to stay again.

Thanks for your kind words. Your group is welcome back anytime. It felt more like hosting family or good friends than new guests. A super easy cleanup was most appreciated.
Compact, comfortable, quiet historic townhouse. As the groom’s parents, we needed a quiet location that would allow us the ability to help with logistics. This delightful location allowed us to help when needed and relax in between. Paul (host) is next door for questions and assistance. Add the history of the area and you have magic. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Heck, if all rentals were this attractive and the owners so accommodating, why stay home? We had the pleasure of meeting him before we left. There is a list of recommended restaurants and directions on the things most wanted, such as groceries. some guided

Thanks for your kind review, great communication during your stay, and taking care of my place like it was your own. Place looks great. Your family is welcome anytime. Wishing you both a safe trip home!
We drove from the Boston area to PA to see Gettysburg, Lancaster, and Hershey and found Paul’s Emigsville home to be the perfect place to escape the city and explore. The house was clean, stocked, and quiet and definitely had that country vibe. The convenience of the home’s location (being equidistant to our three destinations) plus the availability of the level 2 charger on site for our EV (Ioniq 5) allowed us to maximize our vacation experience. Paul was a wonderful host - communicative, attentive and respectful. Highly recommend!

Thanks for your kind review. It was my pleasure hosting your family, stop back anytime. When I installed the EV charger, your trip was exactly the trip I was thinking of - someone interested in several day trips around Central Pa. looking to recharge over night. Glad to see it finally happen.
About the host
Hosted by Paul Kuehnel
I have lived in the neighborhood next to this listing since 1990. My main gig is a journalist, mostly visual, for a national media organization. I graduated from Gettysburg College. I like to build things and the outdoors. I enjoy sharing the quiet street with business travellers, and people looking for something more than a hotel room, yet minutes from major roads.
Why they chose this property
It's a quiet neighborhood with a country vibe, yet in close proximity of two major routes, Interstate 83 and Route 30. While the house is connected to two others, there are 15-inch brick firewalls between the homes and quiet, mature, single neighbors with no dogs. It's much like living in a stand-alone home. A classic 19th century Pennsylvania working class neighborhood that once centered (and still is) around agriculture and industry. Also within walking distance of a deli, post office, pizza place with italian dinners and full-service healthy independent grocery store.
What makes this property unique
It's a quiet escape in a very centrally located place. Close proximity to Interstate 83 and Route 30, and industrial parks and businesses around York for easy access, but quiet rural setting. Free Level 2 Electric Vehicle charging for Tesla (NACS) and J1772 common with most other EVs. There is a small garage available at the rear of the property for motorcycle travelers or people needing storage during their stay.
