Although there was some noisy maintenance going on during our stay, the owners were attentive and willing to do what ever we needed to make things right. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
We had a lovely time at the Birch Lake property. The home was immaculate, comfortable, and close to everything we needed. The hosts were very responsive to any questions that we had. We very much appreciated the easy check-out. We would absolutely stay here again.
Very spacious, nicely decorated, and plenty to do indoors. Appreciated the large smart TVs, WiFi, and hospitable touches in the kitchen and elsewhere. Bathrooms could use some updating. Owner great at responding to questions and dropped off supplies for an anticipated snow event. They do have someone who comes to plow. Unfortunately I’m allergic to down/feathers; there are many feather pillows spread throughout the house—something to keep in mind if anyone in your party is allergic.
Great hosts - they thought of everything! From blankets hanging in the foyer, to hot tea bags and coffee, nothing was missed or overlooked. Property was clean and felt like home. It was the perfect getaway. Planning to come back soon!
Well-appointed and spotless house perfect for adults and teens alike. We cooked in the fully stocked kitchen, ate at the large dining room table together, and enjoyed the hot tub under the falling snow. The large but cozy family room and its giant couch was great for movies, and we played poker at the game table. Plush towels, excellent mattresses and high end bedding rounded out the resort feel. Highly recommend!
First of all, Pree and Sue were incredible hosts, everything we could ever need was thought about. The house is gorgeous and cozy, we had a snowstorm while we were there and it made everything even more special. The hot tub was private and tucked away in a corner. Our doggo loved the yard, although not completely fenced in she had a good time on her long lead and enjoyed her time too. So many lovely little touches and such a great place, hopefully we’ll be back with some friends in the summer.
This was the perfect place for our family to get away for a long weekend.
We found your home to be a great location-minutes from downtown Elk Rapids.
We were met with a very spacious accommodation-would be very comfortable for another family to stay with us.
The house was very clean and stocked with everythimg we needed to make meals.
The yard was also spacious for our pup to play, however not 100þnced in as the backyard edge was wooded.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for the perfect UP North getaway with family or friends.

Thank you for letting us stay in your home. Upon pulling up we were a bit concerned with the outside appearance and upkeep of the home and property. We were met with a bit of a musty smell when we entered which continued throughout the home. As for the bedrooms, living, and dining room we were thankful they were large usable spaces. The linens provided were clean and plentiful. We would’ve loved to see some of the updates that were done throughout the home in the kitchen and bathrooms. Furthermore, the two small bathrooms were not sufficient for the size of our group along (8 adults) with needing many simple home repairs in both of them (broken towel rack, toilet seat, staining on the door, etc.). We appreciated the wood delivery the day after we arrived, and the lack of responsibility on us when checking out. Overall, our group had a wonderful time and with a few adjustments this property would be great!
Our family likes to vacation together every summer. We tend to look for different locations around the State of Michigan. This year we found a beautiful place to stay in the the Torch Lake/Elk Rapids area. Our family of eleven had all the space we needed at the Birch Point Retreat. It's a five bedroom home with large living and dining rooms which easily accommodated or every need. Very clean and well laid out. The sunken living room has plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and watch a movie together on wide screen television. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room table was big enough to seat eleven. Lots of story telling and laughing around the table during mealtime. As mentioned in the title a great location. Lake Michigan and Torch Lake are only minutes away. Traverse City, Elk Rapids, and Charlevoix are all with in 30 to 35 minutes away and offer all the shopping and sight seeing you could want.Definitely on our short list of places to revisit.
