AJ's Outpost is a family-friendly mountain home located on the scenic route between Cody, WY and the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. With easy access to world-class fly fishing on the North Fork of the Shoshone River, this home is an ideal basecamp for park exploration, outdoor adventure, and relaxed family time.
Inside, enjoy a large, well-equipped kitchen, open living and dining spaces, cozy stone fireplace, and spacious bedrooms for restful nights. Outside, unwind in the private, fenced backyard with mountain views, outdoor seating, and a gas grill — perfect after a day in Yellowstone or on the river.
Walking in, you are greeted by an open kitchen, living and dining room area. The large kitchen is well-appointed for easy meal prep. Gather around the dining table, breakfast bar or take your meals outside to the gas grill and enjoy dining on the deck. The living room has seating for everyone to unwind together, stone fireplace as well as a game table for puzzles or a chess match. The home is one level and the bedrooms feature ample closet space and dressers. The main bedroom has a king bed and attached bath with a walk in shower. The 2nd bedroom also has a king bed. Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds. A convenient laundry area is located off of the kitchen. The home has a detached garage for guest use. The backyard is fenced for privacy and enjoying the beautiful mountain views. A gas grill, outdoor seating and deck make the backyard a great gathering space for your group.

Our family had such an amazing time here! It’s in the most beautiful location with mountains all around. Cody is only thirty minutes away and had everything we needed. We went to the rodeo and loved it. This is definitely a place we will visit again!

The house was very nice, and the scenery was great. Only problem was all the windows were dirty. I would set inside to look outside,and have my cup of coffee in the morning.It was chilly, and windy.Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Amazing views, beautiful house

I brought my children to see Yellowstone and the house was perfect! Just the right amount of driving from the park and the scenery on every side of the house was amazing! It was so nice to park in the garage too. Wish we could have had more time, we will definitely recommend AJ's Outpost to others traveling that way.

Mostly a Toast for AJ's Outpost

AJ's outpost was a wonderful stay and we would go back, with some caveats. On the upside, the area around Wapiti is beautiful and location is nice with Yellowstone and Cody nearby and excellent fishing on the Shoshone river and Buffalo Bill Reservoir. The place is big, nice, comfortable. On the downside, the place mislabeled a few major things and lacks a number of basic amenities. The biggest by far is there is NO A/C in the master bedroom. Also, we finally figured out the A/C was programmed to revert back to 78 degrees every night at 9:30. It took us a while to figure that one out and fix it. It was in the high 90s. This was the most serious issue and made sleeping uncomfortable. There was no DVD player or video library as listed. We ended up buying one. Very few kitchen supplies. This looks like a fairly new listing and they need to add some odds and ends. Despite this, the management company was apologetic and very helpful. The first day they turned up with hair dryers, not our request, and the next day turned up with frying pans, our request. The grill worked great. There was a big garage for use, big yard, rocking chairs. I would come back here, but not in summer heat since the master bedroom was basically unusable for sleeping. Fix the A/C and add a few basics and this place is great.

We loved our stay and the cabin was exactly like the pictures. Very comfortable and beautiful mountains views and in the kitchen it was equipped with mostly all your needs . And there was a Walmart 30 minutes away that was great to buy our needs. Definitely, I will recommend the place.
