Fox lake stay

Didn't spend a lot of time at the house, was in town for a baseball tournament.

Short stay

We only needed the house to sleep and we’re planning on leaving in the morning. When we woke up there was an ant infestation in our cooler that was sitting on the kitchen counter and we had to throw some of our food away. We were very disappointed how many ants were in the kitchen.

Fix the listing

The "message host" option goes unanswered - I had no information regarding check-in. Chatted with VRBO and the phone number they gave me was wrong. Luckily, the wrong number led me to the property manager. Once in contact with the property manager, the check-in process was smooth (thank you!). If the online listing gets fixed the pre-trip planning will be less annoying. The property was good enough for a guys weekend.

Defaulted AC.

On one of the hottest weeks of the year, the AC was faulty. The host made a promise that was not kept. A refund of one day was never given. Calls, and texts have been ignored snd unanswered. The family booked the home to attend a funeral after driving 13 hrs to an oven. It was uncomfortable and added to the grief.

Weekend stay

We were there mostly for a place to sleep. Nonexistent communication with chatting on the app. Had to contact VRBO in order to get a number to only find out that the person listed as the host is not who you speak with. Noted hot tub. There is not one (really didn’t matter for us) The garbage out back was horrendous in smelll. Like a dead animal was in there. State’s garbage goes on Fridays. It was Friday night when we arrived and it definitely had not been taken out! Glad it was only 2 of us because not many towels available.

Nov 3-4 stay review

Overall this property was ok. Our biggest complaints are that after multiple messages, texts & phone calls, we never were able to get a hold of the property manager. We had questions throughout our stay, and a jacket was accidentally left by one of our kids & we cannot get a hold of anyone to try & recover it. This is disappointing! We even called VRBO customer service w to attempt to reach them & they were no help at all either. Second, there are ZERO window coverings, even in the bedrooms. We arrived to the property when it was already dark, and had to make a special trip to Walmart to purchase sheets to cover the bedroom windows. The wood floors were very dusty & you could see all of our feet prints after we walked on it & our socks showed the evidence of the dirt. :( If these things were not a concern at all, this property location would be really nice for a family coming to stay for a vacation near the lake. If the property owner sees this review, we would appreciate a call back regarding the jacket that was left behind.
