We stayed here while at Cooperstown and it was perfect. An easy 15 minute drive to Dreams Park and the ability to have the kids swim in the lake in between games was huge! Very large kitchen, comfortable beds, and a large living room. Would stay here again!
Perfect setup for extended family on a baseball trip
Comfortable and pleasant, convenient to Cooperstown All-Star Village. Plenty of restaurant options around and Cooperstown is a short drive away. Lovely setting overlooking the water.
We stayed while our son played at Cooperstown Dreams Park. The house is as described. Beautiful woodwork inside.

Owner was easy to contact and quick to come and fix a plumbing issue. Location is very congested but also very pretty on the water. Only thing we didn’t like were the heavy barn/sliding door on the bedroom. Hard to be quiet when others are sleeping.
This house and property were perfect for our week at Cooperstown. We loved grilling on the back porch (overlooking the lake) and the kids did some fishing too! Main area is open and great for cooking/spending time together. Would recommend this house to others for sure.
Issy was a GREAT host - seamless checkin / checkout process, house was as expected, right on the lake. We highly recommend getting a pontoon boat and taking it out on the lake - very quiet lake for late June, and warm enough to take a brisk swim in. Houses are a little close, as expected for a lake community, but incredibly quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend for a quick excursion from the city.

Great house, perfect location for baseball families
Property owners were very responsive and accommodating. The house was perfect for our baseball family playing at All Star Village. We didn’t have a lot of spare time but kids did enjoy 1 morning of kayaking and fishing.
House is cute, very spacious, clean.

Nice but needs a few updates
Shared this home with another family. The bed my husband and I slept in was very uncomfortable and loud. We would wake up with every turn. The window units were also loud. Only the bedrooms have A/C units. The main area of the house does not have A/C at all. That part of the house could use a portable room unit. The bathrooms were very nice and kitchen was nice as well. I really liked the washer/dryer. They are newer units and washed and dried very quickly. The house is located about a 20 minute drive from All Star Village.

Thank you for your feed back. We strive to make our guest experience excellent. We have implemented your suggestions by replacing the bed and have installed A/C through the entire house.
The house is as it is represented. The woodwork and fixtures are unique and quality to make for a cozy stay. Issy was great, no complaints and would recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lakefront property. It was the perfect size for 6 of us with a few rotating family guests. A 19 minute drive to All Star Village and 30 minutes to Cooperstown. Very clean and comfortable. Issy was very attentive and communication was simple. Would stay here agin for sure.
This was an amazing house & a wonderful stay! The house was clean & comfortable. The view from inside or on the deck was beautiful. The details in the house are spot on. Plus it was close enough to dreams park that if you have a few hours between games, you could go back & relax. The hosts were great too, & got back with any questions quickly. Highly recommend staying here!
This house is was a great place to stay for a week at Dreamspark. Not to far away and a nice easy drive to get there. The house was spectacular. We had a minor bee issue but the owner took care of it that morning. My other kids were able to fish from the dock in the down time. I would recommend this place to anyone.
We stayed at this property while my son was playing baseball at Cooperstown All-Star Dreams. It is a fantastic property on the lake that offers canoeing and fishing. We enjoyed both with my other kids while not at the ballpark.
The property is true to the manner in which it is advertised. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Cooperstown/Oneonta, NY area.
This is a comfortable home built for guests to enjoy. Right on the lake. Unique style. Super functional and nice. The host was very nice and responsive.
The lake house is an absolutely beautiful property. We were in the Cooperstown area for a week of baseball at Cooperstown All Star Village. My concern upon booking was how far the house seemed from CASV, but it was less than 20 mins away. It was easy to get from the lake house to the stores in Oneonta to CASV. It was also so easy to head up to Cooperstown for a visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The lake house itself is gorgeous and very spacious. The deck looks directly onto the lake. It was such a peaceful place to have morning coffee and watch as ducks swam by.
Issy was very responsive and patient with my questions, before and during our stay. (Thank you!!)
Overall, we loved our time there and would definitely stay here again. If we're lucky enough to come back again, we'll definitely make use of the canoe and/or rent a pontoon boat.
We had an amazing stay at this location. The house has so much character in the details we loved it! We stayed on Lake Goodyear 5 years ago when our older son played at ASV and knew we wanted to stay on the lake again. Unfortunately it rained most of our trip this year so we didn't get to enjoy the lake as much as we wanted. However, the lightening show was amazing with the big wall of windows. Every morning go sit on the balcony with your coffee and take in the nature. You'll thank me later!

Worst Vacation Ever
Complete nightmare, we had a very negative experience here. The water was disgusting, smells like sulfur, which the owner couldn't fix. Busted smoke alarms went off in the middle of the night. Lots of small upkeep issues (burned out lights, broken screen doors, spider webs, dirty stove, bad internet signal) that you don't expect at this price point.
The pictures are misleading, beware - both the indoor and outdoor furniture and the waterfront are not as nice as depicted. The neighbors are right on top of you. We had to wait around multiple days for owner to come out and fix issues, only for more issues to pop up after he left.
Owner admitted we were having a horrible experience bc of his house and promised a partial refund, claiming he never had these problems before and had to talk to his "partner in Costa Rica," then ultimately reneged and dodged us. A storm caused a lengthy power outage, where he ignored us and then basically told us to just deal with it, comparing relaxing on the porch in the sun to sitting in a stuffy cabin w no power at 1030 at night bc he was tired of us having problems w his crummy house. We left on Vrbo's advice.
This place is way too much money for all the problems and the owner is a liar. Avoid if you want a nice vacation - you're better off going to work than staying here.

This review is factually dishonest!! The first correspondence with this guest started with them requesting a refund for the second half of their stay because they “had to leave for an unexpected work issues.” As the guest stated in the review “they would’ve rather been home working.”
After I explained that a refund was not possible for their situation, everything about the house became a problem.
To address a few issues; I walked through the house with the guest looking for a place where Wi-Fi signal was weak but they could not find any. Similarly with the smoke alarms, I heard no evidence of any noise but still replaced the batteries in the alarms.
Same is true for the water, there is a chlorinated water filtration system on the house and found no evidence of an odder, however I purged the water system as a precaution. Similar is true for all the other complaints. However there was 2 lightbulbs that were out in the entire house. (My apologies).
Out of my control was a strong thunderstorm one evening that knocked out the power for a few hours to 1,374 homes in the area. We carry loss of use insurance for the house and we tried filing a claim on the guest behalf for the inconvenience. However the insurance company duly noted that a power outage for a few hours although is an inconvenience does not render the house “in habitable when it is a rain cooled 68° during that time period.”
It was clear that is guest did not want to be at the house and were looking for a reasons to be reimbursed for half of their stay. As is evident by the other 40+ 5 star reviews, many guest who have wanted to be at the house have enjoyed their stay over the years and we strive hard to make every guests stay enjoyable!!
The house was terrific. It’s spacious with lots of room for private and family activities. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking and Viking stove a treat! The owners did a good job of putting in towels, toilet paper and cleaning products. Furniture very comfy.
We had a great family vacation.

About the host
Hosted by Issy Durkin
This house was built by the owners- a career builder/designer and a local teacher. This house is the result of years of experience building custom homes; specializing in historic timber frames.
Why they chose this property
-One of the reasons we chose to build on this site is because it is very close to the water - and we've also dreamed of owning a waterfront property. Most houses on the lake are 2 or 3 or more stories above the water level with numerous flights of stair-we're just 20 feet from the water. -Goodyear Lake appealed to us because it's picturesque 370 acre lake, not extremely active (there is no public launch) and is very quiet and relaxing. -We choose the Cooperstown area-not only because of its location to the baseball hall of fame, but also because of the many other features it has to offer. Within a short distance, there are several shops, restaurants, parks, and hiking/outdoor recreation facilities.
What makes this property unique
-50 feet of picturesque waterfront includes a generous area for outdoor seating and grill Swimming and fishing available from the dock -Canoe available for use -Newly built- the fall of 2013 -The home is built from a hand-hewed timber-framed barn. Original barn built in the 1830’s by English settlers in the Catskill Mountains (Gilboa, NY) -Features exposed timbers in all rooms All furniture is custom crafted (beds, end-tables, kitchen cabinets, butcher-block island, vanities, light fixtures etc.)
