The Point Cottage

Our cottage is located on the eastside of Santa Cruz in pleasure point, one of the most sought-after surf destinations along the California coast.
Our bungalow is walking distance or biking distance from the coastal walkway that's part of the the Monterey Bay Sanctuary Scenic Trail.
It is 500 feet from the "Hook" and within a 5 to 10 min walking section of portola and 41st ave where you will find excellent restaurants and eateries (Zameens mediterranean food, Pleasure Pizza, East Side Eatery, Suda, the Verve coffee, Taqueria Vallarta, Canton Chinese food, Betty's Burgers and New Bohemia Brewing).
It is 1 mile to downtown Capitola Village and the Esplanade.
It is 4 miles to Santa Cruz beach Boardwalk and the Santa Cruz Wharf.
4.3 miles to downtown Santa Cruz.
1 mile away from Whole foods market, and 1.4 miles away from Trader Joe's.
You can also rent a surf board or stand up paddle board at Buell surf shop or Freeline surf shop.
1.7 miles to Sunny Cove beach.
2.1 miles to twin lakes and the Santa Cruz Harbor
For Mountain biking and hiking it is 5.6 miles to the entrance of Nisene Marks and 6 miles to UCSC for some epic mountain biking.

The kitchen was perfect for our meal prep needs. Our dog had a wonderful time in the front yard. There was plenty of room for his dog bed inside and toys. The side yard was perfect for wetsuits and surfboards. Perfect location and space for relaxing and spending time together. Look forward to staying again!

Great place

A great house at a perfect location, especially if you’re surfing ! Many nice restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The host was great and took care of everything we needed.

This is our second year staying at the Point Cottage and it did not disappoint! The cottage has an easy and comfortable layout which made our stay peaceful and relaxing. I loved that there are dressers to unpack your stuff and truly settle in. The kitchen has everything we needed and the entire place was clean and nicely decorated.We brought our dog with us and we enjoyed walking him to the dog friendly shops on 41st. The beaches were beautiful and we got to experience the most amazing tide pools just blocks from the cottage. We even got to meet Rippin’ Rosie, the surfing dog AND Santa! Such a treat!I hope we can make a yearly trip to stay at the Point Cottage. It’s a perfect spot in an amazing location. Can’t recommend enough!

Santa Cruz Birthday Getaway

We went to Santa Cruz for the first time to celebrate my husband's birthday. We could not have picked a better location. The Pleasant Point Cottage is walkable to the ocean, coffee shops, and restaurants and well within driving distance to other beautiful destinations.

Great space and location

Laid back space in great location with easy access to the beach, food and coffee shops. The owners were easy to communicate with, set clear expectations and followed through with the couple requests we had that made our stay exceptional. If you are looking for a place to stay in Santa Cruz and/or Capitola, I highly recommend this space.

Thoughtful and Comfortable

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The patio was nicer than pictured and we spent a lot of time hanging out outside. The cottage itself was very cozy and had everything we needed, including Tommy Bahama beach chairs for our whole family, a beach umbrella and a cooler. The cottage was toddler friendly and our kiddo had fun playing on the patio and sleeping in her own little twin bed. There are two reserved parking spots and street parking is pretty doable for extra vehicles.Location is ideal, especially if you’re surfing the Point. Added bonus, there is storage in a locked side yard for surfboards.

Nice beach get-away

My husband and I came for a short little get away and it was instantly easy to relax and enjoy the space. Very clean and tastefully done. We also were glad we could bring our dog with us. A couple things we would have liked was a regular coffee maker and basic condiments on hand. Otherwise a well-stocked kitchen. Thanks!

So good!

A sweet little property in a perfect spot if you want to walk down to watch the water and also sit on the patio and enjoy your coffee. The busy street out front is an endless parade of characters and so much fun to peoplewatch. The house is clean, comfortable and well-thought out. I hope we are able to enjoy this property again but can imagine it will be booked solid due to its perks. Loved the comfy beds and big windows to let in the sun. Well marked parking completed the experience.

Perfect in Pleasure Point

This was our second time staying. Everything is perfect on site and as described in the listing. Comfortable, well appointed, clean, and great location. The fact that it was pet friendly made all the difference this trip, as we had to travel with our pooch. It's not often that I rave about places or recommend them to friends, as I'm super picky. But this place is worth the money. :)

So Happy We Stayed Here!

We LOVED it! First, if you're hesitant to stay here due to it being pet friendly, don't fear...the place is so clean you'll never know! The house is quite spacious, decorated beautifully, kitchen stocked and appliances top notch. My favorite place to sit was in the front porch area. It's great for people & puppy watching, yet private enough where people don't bother you. It's close to the little Pleasure Point town center which has nice stores, places to eat, and a convenience store for anything you need. A 2 minute walk to the end of the street takes you to the most beautiful ocean view where you can watch surfers or take stroll along the walkway with the ocean sounds. Our property managers were so helpful from the moment we booked to when we checked in and after. I wish we stayed longer and will definitely be returning!

Perfection

My son, dog and I stayed in the Point Cottage for 3 weeks while our home was being renovated. I did struggle to figure out the key pad to unlock the home at first but that was my error. The owner responded quickly and came over to show me how to unlock the door. The place, itself, appeared to have been recently renovated and decorated very nicely. Everything was extremely well thought out. I appreciated that there were dressers and closets for us to unpack our things and settle in. The kitchen had everything we needed and space to store our food. The bedrooms were comfortable and each equipped with its own TV. The house was well insulated so it was quiet, even with it being a busy surfing/sightseeing area. The location was amazing. I walked my dog several times a day, enjoying the ocean scenery and 41st avenue shops/restaurants. The entire area was dog friendly. The people were human friendly too. We had an absolutely lovely time and I definitely plan on booking the Point Cottage again in the future. It was hard to leave. I definitely recommend!
