About this property
YOUR PERFECT MOUNTAIN GETAWAY ANY TIME OF YEAR! GREAT LOCATION & VIEWS.
Be assured that we are taking extra care to provide you with a safe, clean environment.
Our condo is ideally located to provide you with a quiet basecamp as you experience the best of Colorado's high country. We are part of Timber Ridge, which is at the top of the Wildernest area in Silverthorne, CO right at the base of Buffalo Mountain - with easy access to a huge trail system in the White River National Forest and Eagles Nest Wilderness Area. Catch the free shuttle or take a 20 - 40 minutes drive to reach SEVEN major ski areas (Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Loveland, Vail, Beaver Creek, A-Basin). Steamboat Springs is only 90 minutes away (the drive offers stunning scenery!) The Blue River and Dillon Reservoir offer easy access to fishing, boating, and other water sports during the summer and fall. Blue-Ribbon fly-fishing on the Blue River is accessible year-round just 10 minutes from the condo. For cross country skiing and snow-shoeing Nordic Centers in Frisco and Breckenridge, are only 20-40 minutes away, with more available in Vail, only 30 minutes away. There are many shops, grocery stores, etc available in Silverthorne, Frisco, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Vail, and Beaver Creek plus numerous factory outlet stores right in Silverthorne only minutes from the condo. And there are more restaurants and eateries than I can mention here. Whole Foods has a big store in Frisco.
2 BR, 2 BA. 900 sq ft. This end unit has picture windows and a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows (including the door to your private deck) bringing in lots of light and a peaceful, airy feeling with views of National Forest, Dillon Reservoir, and mountain views from every window. Master BR has a king-size bed with a private full bath. The second BR has bunk beds with a double bed on the lower with a twin bed above. The second bathroom is accessed from the hall. Both baths have both tub and shower.
Comfortable, open living space has two comfy, full-size couches (one is a sleeper/queen bed), a leather lounge chair, (with cozy, soft throws for your afternoon naps), flat-screen TV, DVD, Free WiFi, and a wood-burning fireplace with complimentary firewood. The dining table has chairs for four chairs, plus 2 folding chairs. Three barstools tuck under the counter opposite the stove for extra seating. All furnishings are in excellent condition. There is original art in every room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create wonderful meals at home while enjoying a roaring fire and a glass of wine. We’ve had professional chefs as our guests who have created many memorable feasts here. Many restaurants in the immediate area may have changed their policies since Covid, or may no longer be in business. There are probably new ones sprouting up every season. Please check your browsers for current information about restaurants for your dining pleasure in Silverthorne, Keystone, Frisco, Breckenridge, Vail, and Beaver Creek.
The Timber Ridge Clubhouse is considered the best in Silverthorne. It’s an easy 5-minute walk from the condo. Two hot tubs, heated swimming pool, sauna, pool table, racquetball court, Foose-ball, ping pong table, outdoor tennis court, and a large, comfy lounge area. There is also a spacious meeting room with large tables and chairs which can be arranged for your use upon request, if available. All this is complimentary for you to use as our guest. Coin-operated washer and dryer are also located in the clubhouse.
You should find racquetball rackets and ping pong paddles and balls on the top shelf in the bunk bed bedroom. Please return them to that location after use.

About the host
Hosted by Buff Elting

Buff is a full-time artist. Her nature-inspired paintings are in galleries in Santa Fe and Denver. You can see examples of her work hanging throughout our condo. Bob is one of the best land surveyors in the West as well as an avid and highly skilled backcountry pilot. Together we enjoy skate-skiing, trail running, hiking, rafting, and cycling. We spend as much time as we can at the condo when it isn't rented out.
Why they chose this property
We bought this condo because we love Summit County and wanted to spend more time skiing, hiking & relaxing and less time battling weekend traffic on I-70. We love being at the very top of the Wildernest area and chose this particular unit because of its location on the end of the first building, right next to the forest and wilderness - full of light, very quiet and no parking lot views!
Before beetle kill and fire-mitigation actions a few years ago, the primordial dark forest came right up to our windows. Stepping from our door into that forest was downright magical. The forest is still close and very beautiful, it just takes a couple minutes longer to get to it on the far side of the sloping meadow. The best advantage to fewer trees is that our view of the mountains and lake have actually improved! And we still love it that our vistas never include any cars, noise or headlights.

What makes this property unique
This condo is as close as you can get to the edge of Silverthorne National Forest and Eagles Nest Wilderness Area. Plus, tucked back against the quiet of the forest, we are protected from the headlights and noise of the parking lot while still having gorgeous views of the mountains. Our end unit allowed us the opportunity to install picture windows on both sides of the fireplace, welcoming in lots of natural light and vistas. A peaceful, airy feeling makes this a place that really welcomes you home.
Chickadees, White-Breasted Nuthatch, Stellar Jays, Pine Grosbeaks and Downy Woodpeckers and Abert's squirrel are all regular visitors to the tall pines right outside the tall LR/DR windows. If you're patient, observant and lucky, you might even be graced by a nocturnal visit from our beautiful resident foxes.
