The best of it all

I had the most amazing time in Kahuku with my family. This house is perfect. There were 12 of us, and no one ever felt like they were in the way. We even lost my brother a few times!

The most awesome property ever!!!!!

Our family of 17 (10 adults and 5 kids and 2 babies) loved this property! Something for everyone. Great beach and fun for morning walks. Too strong for toddlers however. Pool was beyond fabulous. The house was well stocked with everything we needed, lots of pool toys, towels etc. Kitchen was well stocked as well, perfect for many people working together. The theatre room upstairs was a big hit with the kids in the evening - while the adults enjoyed drinks, games and music outdoors. It was paradise!!!!

Gorgeous home!

This home is stunning with a large kitchen that is fully stocked (minus a few spoons) with two extra smaller refrigerators under the bar and three dishwashers. There was also a large ice maker under the bar in the family room which was a nice surprise and awesome to have ice all of the time for water bottles! There were 3-4 blow up queen size mattresses which made it nice for sleeping with different family units, as well as 3 pack and plays. However, there are a few minor repairs that need to be done. The outside shower was overgrown and needed some TLC, but I would still definitely recommend this beautiful home. Our family of 20 with 11 grandchildren ages 10 mos to 16 had a wonderful time!

Hale Ohana

Amazing property, but poor management. We were given the wrong gate code, caretaker never arrived to check us in, guest house was inaccessible at check in, alarm shut off instructions were unclear. Chef Jason was amazing and saved the day on multiple occasions, offering referrals, solutions and assistance. One quarter to one third of the light bulbs in the house need replacing, found dead cockroaches, mummified geckos and frogs inside the house during stay. Roof leaked during heavy rain just inside main front double doors.

Memorable Beach Side Experience

We loved our entire stay at Hale Ohana. The pictures are a very good representation of the overall home experience. The views of the ocean from the main sitting area of the home, the outdoor seating area, and pool are absolutely spectacular. The interior architecture and furniture are exceptionally unique and very much Japanese-inspired. We stayed with our extended family of 10 and were very comfortable spreading out within the home and the guest house. There is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the property. The quality of the beach is exceptional and you can walk a mile plus in either direction and hardly see anyone. The home is close to Laiei and you can access groceries/gas/food trucks within 5 minutes and there is a beautiful paved running path right across the street. An initial walk-through with a property manager would be recommended as there are some elements of the home that do require some time to come up to speed with (locks, air conditioning system, etc). Overall, we had a fantastic stay.

The perfect place for a secluded getaway on the North Shore

My group of 10 adults had an amazing time at this vrbo. The secluded beach and pool made for non-stop entertainment and fun.The food trucks nearby were great for keeping us all fed. There were also plenty of places to visit nearby (farms, horseback riding, restaurants). Upon arrival I wish we had a walk through to be able to understand some of the features of the home that were not in the welcome book. After reaching out to management we resolved the issues, but I think a lot of my communication to him could have been avoided if we had an initial walk through. Some things needed work that we weren't aware of before arriving. Two of the three dishwashers were broken and the same electrical issue was effecting some of the master bedroom outlets and outdoor lighting. They sent someone to resolve the issue, but it wasn't fixed in the week we were there. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances and dishes. This made it easy to feed 10 people. Although we did have issues finding a sharp knife and a pan that wasn't heavily scratched non-stick. Overall it was well worth the travel from Florida. Having such a large property for our group with the proximity to the beach was such a wonderful experience.

Heaven on Earth!

This North Shore Oahu villa was the perfect escape for our family! Stepping out onto the lanai to watch the sunrise over the ocean – that's what a Hawaiian vacation is all about. The beach is literally your backyard, and we even spotted whales! The infinity pool was a lifesaver with the kids as well, they were in it all day long. The layout is fantastic and we especially loved the kitchen! It's spacious and well-equipped, making it easy to cook for a crowd. We could easily see ourselves hosting a big group of friends here. There's plenty of parking for multiple families, and the location is perfect for day trips to Goat Island or any North Shore adventures. The house has spaces for hanging out together, like the open living area and massive lanai, but also plenty of bedrooms for when you need some privacy. Every room had its own bathroom and there were plenty of pull-out beds and mattresses for sleeping large groups or setting up a "kid's room" for all of the cousins. Our only regret – we wish we'd have brought more people to share this incredible property with. The owners and property managers were wonderful to work with and extremely responsive. Whenever we had a question about the house (like controlling the lighting or the entertainment system) we were able to get in touch with the property manager who was delightful and answered our questions. Turns out we had overlooked to guidebook that explained everything. I simply can't recommend this property enough!

Simply breathtaking!!!!

Hale Ohana! This incredible spacious home is nestled on the North Shore of the beautiful island of Oahu, in between Laie and Turtle Bay, it offers a captivating blend of luxury and coastal charm. The amenities of this incredible retreat are endless! Hale Ohana has multiple rooms to make it easy for several families to be there all at once and still have enough space to have “personal time.” The whole home entertainment system was a perfect addition as the entire family would listen to beautiful Hawaiian music to add to our experience! The infinity pool was our relaxation as we came in from a long day on the beach, surfing, body boarding, paddle boarding and playing in the family friendly waves! There is NOTHING better! We fell asleep every night and woke up every morning to the soothing sounds of waves. The beautiful Maleakahana Beach is just steps past the infinity pool, (that can be heated if desired, plus!) It was so peaceful to stroll along the pristine shoreline, since this beach is primary surrounded by homes there were no tourists and we had the beach to ourselves during our stay which made it easy to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty that surrounds this exquisite retreat. Let’s not forget about the food! If you walk north you’ll see several food trucks that your stomach simply can’t stretch big enough to try all the different options all at once, we went there several days. Just south you’ll find restaurants and a supermarket! We can’t wait to return! 2025!

We had an amazing stay!! The house is unbelievably beautiful and we spent most of our time outside hanging by the pool or walking on the beach. We had a group of 20 and we all had our own space and used the kitchen every night! Such a special spot.

Overall property is beautiful. Pool was dirty when we arrived, my son figured out there were some goggles stuck in the automatic cleaner, pool resolved itself overnight. Few things were not working, but overall beautiful property with good commutation from host.

Much-needed Family Vacation

Wow! We absolutely loved our time at Hale Ohana! The house is incredible. We were a family of 17 meeting for a long-overdo family vacation. The youngest being 4years old and the oldest 70 years old. The privacy for each family was perfect. My parents took the separate cottage that’s above the garage. Them taking that area did take away beds, but we wanted them to have their own area. Inside, my husband and I took the master suite with our 4yo (amazing master room and restroom). My sister took the upstairs bedroom and her two teen boys slept in the living space up there. They basically had the entire upstairs (full bathroom). Another sister took a bedroom with full bathroom and had their son on an air mattress (available at the house). My in-laws took a bedroom with full bathroom. Our boys took the room with 2 twin beds and full bathroom. Our adult daughter took the office bed and shared the restroom with our boys. Everyone felt comfortable and loved the privacy of their own bathroom. The common area is more than enough space. We never felt cramped. The kitchen is large and we easily had 3-4 people cooking at the same time. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need to make a good meal. The refrigerator and freezer space is amazing- there are multiple small refrigerators that we used for drinks. The outside was simply priceless. Everyone could sit outside and enjoy the view and listen to the waves while watching the kiddos in the pool. The private beach access was amazing and simple. We would walk right down to the beach. The shower area right inside the beach access gate made rinsing off easy. There were tons of beach toys/boards for the kids to use. There were beach chairs that were perfect, especially for our parents, to use at the beach. The pool temperature was perfect. Ample parking space. The gardens when you first enter the gate were so peaceful. I don’t know how many times my family kept saying Five-Stars! The rental company was easy to work with and responded quickly. Lauren, our house contact person, was attentive and responsive. The house is updated with technology, so it was tricky figuring out how to use the main remote and panel, but very useful once I got the hang of it. We used the speakers and played music, which you can pick what areas to play. The ac worked great, but has a setting that shuts it off if the doors are left open. The entire family continues to talk about this vacation and cannot wait to return!

You would think that from the photos this home could not be better but it is!

We knew from the pictures that Hale Ohana was going to be wonderful but it was more than wonderful - it was truly spectacular. We were beyond impressed and thrilled. For future visitors to this home you will want to know that besides the refrigerators in the photos there are also small fridges at the bar and in the master suite! There are three dishwashers! The floor layout is hard to understand in the photo but in the game room upstairs which is awesome and one of our grandsons slept in that room - there is a bedroom off of that room and a bathroom upstairs as well. There is a single window type bed in the room to the right of the entry where one of our granddaughters slept and it was perfect for her. However as said in a previous comment there are not enough linens and we found this to be true. So if you have guests who will need to use those beds or any of the blow up beds that are provided you will need to make sure they are going to be supplied by the home owner or bring your own. In the cottage above the garage there is sleeping for six people and one of our families slept there. There is a king bed and a double bed and the couch pulls out into a bed but there were no linens for that pull out. That little cottage was perfect for one little family of ours but just know that you get to it by a pathway outside. We loved the water station coming in from the beach so we could wash off the sand. We watched the Final Four games and Championship game on the big TV in the Cabana outside. That was so fun. The living area of the home is enormous. The photos do not give it justice. There were 17 of us and it never felt crowded. There are plenty of eating areas and seating areas and it is all just comfortable and perfect. Many of our family members came into the master suite to have the shower experience in their swimming suits! Shower quickly though and pile the people in because the hot water runs out! ha. There was something for everyone to do every single minute. From chasing the crabs on the beach to enjoying the frogs and fish in the pond in the front yard. We loved the water features so much and our grandchildren were in the pool from morning until night. That view from the back of the home looking at the pool and out onto the ocean is worth every penny of the price of this home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing your beautiful home and making a dream come true for me and my family.

For the price we paid this property is poorly maintained. I only listed what I could fit in 100 words as far as problems. I would not recommend this property or return in its present condition. There are some wonderful things about it as well, but again it is poorly maintained

WOW! ZEN! GORGEOUS! Spaced out and perfectly appointed. The best equipped kitchen we have ever experienced!! That was a huge plus for this family of foodies. This house had beauty everywhere you looked- art, architecture, the magnificent views of the front entry, pool, ocean. Everyroom opens to the outside, bringing the outside, inside. Seriously, we were in awe of this property. With 5 children ages 7-11, there was room for them to play, explore, inside and outside, it was a wonderland of great experiences for all of us. There was plenty of comfortable beds for us all. Private spaces to spread out...yoga and exercise out on the grass by the pool, floating in the pool, listening to the waves and watching NFL football for the guys on the big screen by the pool...that was a win. The grocery store nearby had all we needed for a lovely Thanksgiving feast. We didn't venture too far from the home, except to go to the North Shore and watch a surfing competition. We watched a giant Sea Turtle on the beach for a long time until it was ready to slowly move back to the ocean. My husband and I were treated to a helicopter tour of the Island by our "kids". It was very special. No one was ready to come home when our week was up. Hale Ohana was magical!

Hawaiian sanctuary

We came for a trip with family and friends and the house/location were both amazing. The house feels like a Bali oasis. The beach is beautiful along with all the pool. I would highly recommend this property.

Excellent Choice for the North Shore

This was our first visit to the North Shore and we felt very lucky to have experienced this beautiful home. The location was excellent, close to everything you would need, but still felt secluded. The infinity pool and immediate access to what felt like a private beach made this more than worth it. Communication was excellent all along the way. We even had a few minor issues during our stay which were all sorted out in relatively quick fashion. I would book this home again in an instant.

Kahuku House Review

The house is in a great location, and the beach was great; however, the A/C in the main house did not work the entire time we were there, and the property manager was unable to get the issue resolved. Additionally, the fence by the beach was basically eroded and falling apart, and the house could use some basic upgrades and sprucing up.

Overall the property is just amazing.

When we arrived there was a cleaners and a couple handymen on the property... It was a little past four. Not a huge deal. There was also mountains of trash still in the driveway that didn't go out for a couple days. They said don't worry it's from the owners... okay. lol. Again none of these things are a big deal but for the price of the property I would expect some of the little things to be taken care of, shower head could barely stay up in one of the rooms, loose stone (step) on the way to the guest suite, hair dryers in rooms, etc... I mean, it's very expensive. But overall, I'd recommend it and stay again, the place is beautiful and location is amazing. The biggest pain was one of our guests didn't have a real bed, the listing used one of the room pictures twice with different furniture, obviously an accident, with a place this big you need to be meticulous and organized in the descriptions so people know where they are sleeping prior to arriving.
