We had Thanksgiving at this house and it was big enough for all of us. It’s old and has a lot of character. It was very clean. The driveway isn’t great.

Large home, comfortable beds, great location to downtown, but really needed updating. The photos were accurate if you looked from a distance, but up close it needed painting, electrical work, drywall, and general updating. Kitchen has new appliances and is the most updated room of the house, however really needed more utensils, dishes, cookware etc. We really didn't have adequate items in the kitchen for our family.Little to no decorations on walls, could use additional pictures to make it feel warm and cozy like the photos listed on the site. The laundry room had an odor and the wash machine had some mold inside. Needless to say we didn't do our laundry in it.Our recommendation is to update.
We came to town from as far away as Japan to see the premiere of a film my son and nephew helped create. The house was plenty spacious and convenient for us. However, when renting a space that accommodates 14 people, there should be enough toilet tissue and more than a single roll of paper towels. Also seating, especially outside on the many balconies, seemed to be an issue. Luckily we have family fairly close and they brought some folding chairs. We love Knoxville and would stay here again.
We followed the check out instructions which told us to put all used towels in the washer and run it before leaving. When we put the towels in the washer there were already some towels in there presumably from the prior occupants.

Not what we expected
Let’s be clear, this house is over 120 years old and has what seems to be LOTS of original woodwork. The photos were accurate if you looked from a distance. Up close it was a different picture. We had 10 ppl staying there, all ages It’s 3 stories. We arrived at the end of June in Tennessee. It was hot and no a/c units were on. Took forever to cool down. This was a continuing issue. Let’s start on 3rd floor. Two br. One had a wall mount a/c, the other counts on a wall mount unit across the upstairs living room to cool it down. Not great for that room. More on that later. Third floor also has a shower and toilet, sink is in the kitchenette though. Skip to the first floor. Kitchen has new appliances and is the most updated room of the house, also has the most pics on the site. Don’t count on cleanliness of utensils and there is a sparse selection of knives. Huge fridge! Nice oven, vent and dw. A/c worked great on this floor! Central air that kept temp at 71/72. We spent most of our time in living room. It was not as advertised. Not decorated like in pics. Window on side of house coming out of the frame, LARGE spider webs, couch is shorter than pic. One rug on wooden floor that doesn’t look or feel clean. The wiring in the living room is indicative of the entire house. Looks like it was done by an amateur. Light switches are a puzzle in the front hall, stairway area. Very old house, did I mention that? Floor and STAIRS creak which is kinda cool but not late or early

You are correct this is a historic home with the gorgeous original woodwork and windows. The photos are very accurate. Decor does change based upon the seasons. My apologies if the upper floors were warmer in 107 degrees. Heat rises so naturally the first floor is cooler. My apologies if you found the light switches confusing we do have them labeled. This home is older but full of charm!
