Welcome to Deer Ridge Retreat, a hidden gem perched on a quiet hillside in Heber-Overgaard. Surrounded by tall pines and the gentle rustle of forest living, this three-bedroom cabin offers more than just a place to stay — it’s a peaceful escape where you’ll reconnect with nature, loved ones, and yourself.



The warm rustic charm, its open-concept layout, and thoughtful modern amenities, this cabin invites you to settle in and keep the conversation going from morning coffee to movie night. The real magic happens outdoors. The massive deck spans the back of the house, offering unobstructed views and front-row seats to stunning sunsets, star-filled skies, and deer passing by.



Whether you’re looking for a romantic mountain retreat, a weekend getaway with friends, or a relaxing family escape, Deer Ridge Retreat is designed to help you unwind, explore, and create memories. From scenic walks to nearby lakes and trails, to peaceful evenings spent watching the stars — you’ll leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already planning your next stay.



This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and security deposit. We know security deposits are annoying, so to make it easier on you we have 2 options that you can choose between:



Option 1: Damage Waiver ($47) - Have a worry-free stay with coverage for up to $1,500 for accidental damage (spills, breaks, mishaps) with no surprise charges. Just relax and enjoy your stay. Coverage up to 10 nights, +$5/day for longer stays, and provided by a third-party insurance company.



Option 2: Security Deposit ($1,000) - Refundable temporary hold that releases after your stay.



To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it's a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.



Your guest portal includes advertisements with third-party upgrades that you may want to enhance your stay. These upgrades are optional and include:

This place is tucked away in a quiet community with lots of space in between properties, but close enough to town to be convenient to grab lunch etc. The house was perfect for our family of 5, and was even loved by the moody teenagers. We spent most of our time on the huge deck, watching all the wildlife in the meadow below and listening to the afternoon storms. Beds were super comfy, kitchen had all the right amenities and the hosts did a great job on communication. We would definitely come back and stay again.

We enjoyed our stay! The house is beautiful and so cozy. The amenities were a huge bonus especially having a washer and dryer. Everyone's favorite spot was the balcony!!We absolutely will recommend and return again.

Great Weekend Getaway

We loved this cabin in the woods. It was roomy, comfortable, well-equipped, clean, lovely inside and beautiful forest views. Getting there from Phoenix was a simple drive. We watched a herd of deer stroll by one morning

It’s all about the deck

Overall, a very nice place but we did experience some small inconveniences. They had very nice showers and a beautiful tub we didn’t use much because the water pressure was awful. We were also notified that the dishwasher wasn’t working prior to our arrival, so we were able to prepare accordingly, but it was inconvenient. We were provided very little toilet paper and had to buy more, which felt silly for a three night trip with three people. The patio cushion were stored away so we had to set those up ourselves before we could enjoy the outdoor space. The beds were very comfortable and fitted with nice bedding. The deck was big and beautifully adorned with white lights which added a nice ambiance. The fire table was a fun addition we enjoyed as well. Cute decor too.

Thanks for your review and feedback! Due to the monsoon storms, patio cushions are kept stored in order to keep dry for your use. As for toilet paper, we do typically stage our homes with 3 rolls per bathroom so surprised to learn that was not the case for your stay! We will definitely be working with the homeowner about the water pressure upstairs as well. We look forward to hosting you again!
