Welcome to The Flamingo Cottage! This tropical 2Bedroom/2 Bathroom cottage is located in close proximity to downtown Sarasota and 2.9 miles from the world-famous Siesta Key Beach! Heated Salt Pool Shared with 2 other small Cottages.
Plantation shutters and coastal décor throughout, you'll truly be living "The Beach Life" for your Florida getaway.
Within walking distance, you will discover amazing restaurants like Walt's Fish Market, Bone Fish Grill, Connors Restaurant and Sonny's BBQ to name a few and Plenty of shopping at Southgate Mall. Trader Joe's, Aldi's and Publix Supermarkets are within easy walking distance.
Tables, Chairs, Umbrellas and Lounge chairs are placed around the pool for those who like to sun- bathe. Enjoy this area for a great place to relax and unwind after a fun day at the beach. Lush tropical landscaping surrounding the property adds for a great Florida escape. Siesta Trolley and The City Bus (SCAT) have a bus stop located in front of Aldi's which is 0.4 miles from The Flamingo Cottage for easy access to the Beach without driving your vehicle with plenty of free parking. The Heated Salt Pool with a sun shelf is shared with 2 other small cottages. No pets allowed in pool area.

Home before Our Home

The stay could not have been better. We stayed here for a month while we waited to close on our own home and transition our kids to a new school and a new state. The location, amenities, cleanliness all made our transition so much easier. We would definitely recommend to others!

Cleanest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in

This place was perfection! Beautiful, clean little house, with a well stocked great kitchen. Our 3 year old loved it, especially the heated salt water pool. Short drive to Siesta Key and tons of restaurants nearby. Great hosts. They even messaged us that we could check in early. Highly recommended.

Had a great stay

Ken and Donna were very attentive and friendly. We really did not have any issues that needed addressing. 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, modern kitchen, nice living area - the layout suited our needs for our month long stay very well. I would highly recommend this propery and would definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to Sarasota.

Spring Break

This was our first time to Sarasota and using this rental property. We pleasantly surprised that toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher pods, and beach towels were on hand for us to use. The cottage was very clean and conveniently located. The pool being heated was an extra treat! We were so pleased with our stay and are already planning to be back next year!

Flamingo Cottage June 2023

We really enjoyed our stay at the Flamingo Cottage. It was very clean and everything needed was provided. We only had to purchase groceries. The pool was a great addition. Kid's took full advantage of it. Plenty of beach towels included. The beds were comfortable and extra blankets and pillows provided. Very clean! Our stay was a wonderful experience!

Enjoyed this cozy house so much!

This spot is so peaceful and has so many amenities and the pics don’t do it justice. A short walk to Walgreens, Walt’s fish market, Trader Joe’s, Aldi. So many things available for the vacationer to use like a cooler, beach supplies, a cart, tons of beach towels, toys, washer and dryer. And the pool was such a glorious gift. You just don’t usually find this much for such a reasonable price. Love.

The house was everything as described. We were very impressed with the all inclusiveness of the property. Besides groceries there was not one thing we needed to get that was not already there. Beach chairs, towels, umbrella, all there. There was even a toolbox in garage that I used wrenches out of to change a bulb in our vehicle! Owners are very attentive to any needs and were very friendly. Thanks, Ken and Donna, we highly recommend it and would absolutely stay again when we visit area!

The salty life as a Texan.

The house was convenient to many beautiful beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, and other places of interest. We did have an adventure as Hurricane Idalia swept by and this was a 1st for us so we were concerned. Owners answered my questions and concerns with approaching storm and eased my fears. House stood up to winds and rain. Very cute décor and kitchen was stocked up with utensils, appliances, and we loved the pool. It helped fill in the days when we weren't able to get out due to storm. Would definitely return with more family.,

The Flamingo Cottage was just as described, and larger than it looks in the pictures. My family of 5 enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well stocked and even had darling serving platters to use for one of our dinners in. The beds were so comfortable!! I'm having trouble falling asleep in my own bed now - LOL. I rated cleanliness as a 4 ONLY because the floors were dirty - swept but not mopped well! I did not mention anything about the floors to Ken or Donna because it didn't bother us that much since we wore sandals. Everything else was spotless! Overall we liked the house very much & enjoyed the pool & outdoor space.!

Beautifully decorated, short drive to the beach

My husband and I stayed here with our son and two of his friends for spring break. By the time we started looking everything in our price range on the beach was booked. Between us dropping off and picking them up at a friend's condo and Uber they managed just fine. All three gave their vacation a 10! The house was nicely decorated, well-stocked, and clean. Plenty of bath towels and beach towels, and even a Keurig with pods and creamer! Beds were comfortable. I enjoyed sitting on the patio, and we used the grill one day for burgers. We ate at Mi Pueblo, Smacks Burgers and Shakes, and Blaze Pizza and all were fantastic. I highly recommend the in-house smoked turkey breast at the deli at Lucky's Market by the mall. It was delicious and very reasonably priced for good quality deli meat. Publix, Trader Joe's, and WalMart are all close by. One morning my husband and I didn't feel like leaving early to get parking at Siesta Beach so we went to Nokomis Beach, which we enjoyed just as much if not more than Siesta. We also went to Lido beach one day. The owners were wonderful and quick to respond whenever we had a question.

Jasmine Casita Joke!!

We rented Jasmine Casita for the month of August, 2021. We left 2 weeks early due to the following: Horrible location, overgrown landscaping and grass, police cruisers in the driveway on Sunday morning, human feces on shower curtain, soiled urine stained mattress, old worn sheets and towels, tv needed repair, microwave needed repair, dirty/filthy air vents. The maintenance crew came out and fixed the tv and microwave, guest services bought sheets, towels and shower curtain. Property management ordered a deep cleaning as well. However, we requested a full refund on Tuesday after arriving on Saturday and was informed there would be no refund. We have opened several complaints with the appropriate agencies and provided them with photos, receipts and emails. Our intention is to ensure others do not have this experience I do not have trust that this company will do the right thing and REFUND our total amount. However, I will continue to be an advocate for others to ensure they do not meet the same fate.

The place was nice but for us older folks (over 80) grab bars in the showers are needed as is a railing to help getting in and out of the pool. We didn't use the pool because we were not sure we could get in or out without a railing.

Wonderful Staycation

Lovely property. Trader J's, Publix, Lucky's, Best Buy, B&N, Starbucks all within a few blocks. The kitchen was beautifully redone with great appliances, and an outdoor LP grill. Wake up, pop in a K-cup for coffee, cook breakfast, or try one of a dozen great restaurants nearby. Then head to Lido Beach or Siesta Key for the day. Come home cook dinner, and finish the evening in the beautifully lit new swimming pool. Ken and Donna are great hosts!

Absolutely loved the cottage and the owners

Me and my family have been coming to the Sarasota area for 3 yrs now and wish we would have found this place sooner. The house has everything and more for your vacation. The owners are nothing short from amazing. Our plane landed 11:30pm and Donna was kind enough to offer to buy breakfast for us and have it ready. I got the pleasure of meeting Ken a few times. He was very respectful and helpful with anything we needed as well to make our trip the best possible. Me and my family are very grateful of everything Ken and Donna have did during our wonderful trip. The cottage was in a great area close to shopping, food and most importantly siesta key. Me and my family will continue coming to Ken and donnas rentals until we can call Sarasota our home as well. Thanks again ken and Donna and can’t wait to see you guys again next summer. Who knows maybe sooner lol

House was convenient to everywhere we needed/wanted to go. Very clean and comfortable. Was well stocked with all necessities. Loved having the pool! Owners were very responsive and promptly answered any questions we had. Fairly priced for the area. Would stay again next time we’re in Sarasota.
