The property view was amazing! The cottage was gorgeous! Decorated so nice but very relaxing and homey! And the hosts, I can’t say enough about them!!!!! They were great! They were there every time we needed them. They were such a joy to visit with! I hope we get to go back!!!!!

We loved our stay at this cottage! It was clean, well appointed and the hosts were phenomenal. We very much enjoyed feeding the chickens, visiting the goats and petting the cats. The farm fresh eggs were a fantastic bonus. The cottage also has a beautiful view and will have a pond soon. I would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely location

This was the perfect place for us to stay. We used to raise chickens so loved watching them and enjoyed seeing all of the other animals and the garden. Also this is a great location to access all there is to do in the Mineral Wells area. We went to the state park and Clark Gardens, got ice cream at the Krazy Kreamery and visited the Crazy Water hotel and Famous Mineral Water Company.

Garden Cottage and MORE!

We had another beautiful stay. I highly recommend this property if you’re looking for peace and tranquility. There’s also plenty to do within a few minutes drive. We enjoyed hiking Mineral Wells State Park and also strolling the downtown area. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Looking forward to coming back!

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay there again. The pastries (turtles) very delicious and we appreciated the snack! We didn’t know how to get out of the gate so when I sent a message asking for help Erwin was there before we knew it! Wonderful host! I just loved the animals! I recommend this cottage 100%

Cozy stay at Honey Bee farm

My husband and I stayed at this charming cottage on the farm. It is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The bed is comfortable, farm fresh eggs are delicious and great views. The hosts, both people and animals are welcoming. We will come back.

Beautiful property

Christine and Ervin were wonderful hosts. We had an enjoyable stay on their beautiful property. The cottage was perfect! The snacks, fresh eggs and mimosas were an added surprise. What a beautiful cottage with delightful scenery and surroundings! The hosts went above and beyond my expectations, going so far as to provide not only a bottle of wine and chilled wine goblets but artisan baked cookies along with other breakfast and snack goodies! But the cherry on top was a sweet gift for our 45th anniversary! We will definitely be back!!

Cozy and comfortable

This a thoughtfully appointed cottage with friendly hosts and a peaceful setting. It was relaxing to come “home” to the cottage after long days at my volunteer work site just a short drive away. There were many lovely details such as the organic cereal, milk and eggs and the variety of coffees and teas that made for a cozy retreat. I hope to stay again!

This place is crazy cute! We enjoyed our stay so much and will definitely choose to stay here again in the future. Just a super comfortable place to relax and unwind. Good bed for a couple of night's good sleep, a nice big shower and double vanity, washer & dryer too. The chickens laying fresh eggs and the guineas and the kitties were a nice touch, and the view is beautiful! The hosts were so, so nice and made us feel welcome with all sorts of extra touches. Five stars!

Perfection!

Thank you so much to Christine and Ervin (and Mea!) for opening up your little garden cottage to us for the weekend. We were greeted by the menagerie of animals including ol "Blue Eyes" who came up to us immediately. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated and welcomed us with a lovely bottle of wine and cookies designed by a specialty bakery in town. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Wonderful Ladies' Weekend

We had a wonderful stay at the Garden Cottage. Everything was just as described in the listing, and Christine was incredibly friendly and helpful. Some changes came up the week before the booking, and she was very flexible and accommodating. The cottage's kitchen is very well-stocked. Much better than most vacation rentals. Many pots and pans, oils, herbs and seasonings, cooking utensils, mixing bowls, measuring cups/spoons, and plenty of coffee pods for the Keurig as well as an electric kettle. There is a good assortment of silverware and cooking utensils, but I don't remember seeing a chef's knife or cutting board. There is no oven for baking/roasting - just a two-burner stove top and a toaster oven. The bed was extremely soft - there is a thick foam mattress topper that you sink into. I personally loved it, but it might be too squishy for some. The host let me know I was only the second person to sleep on this topper (as of 10/2), so this is a different feature from the previous reviews. I also appreciated how she has pillows of different thickness/fluffiness you can choose from. The property is very beautiful and extremely relaxing. There are multiple outdoor/shaded sitting areas near gardens, ponds, farm animals, flowers, etc. I found several cozy spots to read a book or just enjoy the fresh air. It was also fun to greet the farm animals each morning. The goats and cats are very friendly! The drive into the town of Mineral Wells is easy and only about 10 minutes. We had a fun time exploring the town and following the tips from Christine and a couple other locals we came across. Christine offers so many little perks - eggs, milk, and half-&-half in the fridge, wine and mimosa ingredients, cookies and chocolates, water bottles and tissues, TONS of bath towels, comfy robes and slippers, etc. She is an extremely thoughtful host!

Hosts thought of everything! From first aid kit to lovely bottle of wine, immaculate property, tasty healthful snacks, farm fresh eggs in fridge, From kittens to Koi pond, from arrival to departure, this experience was deep and wide! Left there feeling 10 years younger.

Beautiful, comfortable and thoughtful!

Christine and her husband were absolutely wonderful hosts! Everything was so clean and comfortable. She was so thoughtful and left us farm fresh eggs, coffee/tea, wine, mimosa fixings, fresh baked cookies from the local bakery, and snacks! She greeted us on arrival and gave us a little tour. It was quiet, peaceful, the bed was super comfy, and it was a short 12 minute drive to beautiful downtown Mineral Wells! We will 100% stay here any time we come back here. The property was so beautiful and there were some nice and goofy animals to greet us on our drive in :) everything was perfect!

The 23rd Psalm

This place provided a much needed restoration for our souls and rejuvenation. The host Christine and Ervin were very accommodating to our needs and desires! We stayed 3 days and 2 nights and daily I found some new treasure that Christine had hidden away(before our arrival), either inside the cottage or outside where we spent a great deal of time relaxing and taking in the view. They are very friendly and well known and respected in their community of Mineral Wells. We would like to return, possibly in the fall.

Ervin, a retired military veteran and former WA State Patrol Officer, stays active and engaged in various tasks on their extensive 20-acre property. Whether it's welding, roasting coffee beans, or building new garden beds, guests are sure to find him immersed in his projects. Meanwhile, Christine, equally industrious, tends to the operations at Honey Bee Ridge Farm & Garden. She manages the greenhouses, assists customers with plant starts, and nurtures their vegetable gardens, all while starting her day with a cup of coffee roasted by Ervin.

Celebrating 38 years of marriage, the couple has raised three adult children who now have families of their own. Ervin and Christine's shared faith in Jesus Christ and involvement at Indian Creek Baptist Church reflect their deep-rooted values. Their community engagement extends to having served on various boards, that have included the MW Chamber, The Brazos Foundation, The Hope House Foundation and currently visiting shut-ins at the local assisted living and nursing homes, safety team at ICBC as
well helping in the church kitchen & Womens minister team.

Beyond their commitments, Ervin and Christine find joy in traveling, homesteading, and dedicating themselves to helping others ans hospitality.

Why they chose this property

Ervin and Christine were one of the first 2 couples to build on The Ridge. This location was chosen for the view and proximity to the two adjoining hwy's 281, 254 & FM 1885 all of which can be seen from the top of the property. The desire was to get off the main highways, enjoy a 180 degree view of the valley and attain acreage for gardens, farm animals and family.

What makes this property unique

At The Ridge, the views are stunning, setting a high standard for our cottage guests. What truly sets us apart is our close-knit community where neighbors are not just neighbors but caring individuals who watch out for each other. Our "family" at The Ridge comprises former military personnel, law enforcement officers, teachers, nurses, mechanics, and ranchers - truly remarkable people!

Situated on the ridge of La Cresta Lane, a private drive with no outlet, our guests can leisurely stroll without the hustle of traffic, enjoying the serene surroundings to their heart's content.

During the garden season, guests are invited to pick fresh vegetables, interact with the goats and chickens, pet the bunny, watch the cows, chuckle at the antics of the guinea hens, and bond with Frosty the horse. Alternatively, guests can relish the tranquility of the cozy cottage for a perfect getaway experience.
