Very cool spot, private area exactly what we needed. Cool to be on the canal with kayaks and paddle boards as an amenity. Also good spot in town. Close to everything. Will stay again, for sure
Check in was not smooth, I don’t believe I ever received an email detailing the check in process. We did get a text the morning of so we had contact info, but the text did not include check in information. When we arrived we had a hard time getting a hold of our contact.
Internet also went out at one point and the contact was not very responsive.
The bed was very uncomfortable, the blankets were very thin and given that it was cold when we were there it made it all the more uncomfortable.
We could have been pretty happy with everything if the host was a bit more responsive.
Stayed 2 nights in the Solitude Suite at Siesta Key with my son after spending several days in Sarasota. Suite was ready early. Lisa was responsive and communicated right away via text. Suite is well equipped with kitchennette and updated bathroom. Everything was clean and fresh. My son and I enjoyed the heated pool on-site. It is right across the street from beach access. Trolley stop is right outside the property. There are several good walkable restaurants as well if you don’t want to take the trolley. Everything was top notch. We will likely be back at some point to stay in a larger suite with the rest of the family.

Liked: Amenities, communication
The solitude suite was located very close to the Crescent Beach area and about a mile and a half from Siesta Key Beach. Downtown is about a 2 mile walk one way. Public transportation is available and that is a very nice option. Parking was easy and there are plenty of spaces. The suite is definitely a suite. It is a very small space and has the basic amenities. There is a small refrigerator and microwave, which are nice. We felt that the suite could’ve been a little cleaner and is in need of property maintenance. For the price of the rental, there are things that need attention. The very first thing we noticed was a very strong musty smell or maybe the smell of a drain that needs cleaned. The suite is on the ground floor and is very dark inside the room. The bed headboard blocks the window and there is minimal air circulation. The curtain rod above the bed had been pulled out of the wall, a lightbulb in the bathroom was burnt out and needs replaced. The bed was very hard and the pillows were flat. The water pressure is very low in the suite as well. When we booked, the suite had a 10/10 rating on Expedia which was misleading for what we experienced.
