Welcome to The Dove.
It’s your ideally-located Southeast Florida base camp for adventures, and work nomads. Explore West Palm Beach, Palm Beach. Day trip to Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orlando.
The Dove is a beautiful, fully restored classic 1950’s era Florida cottage, with its original Dade pine floors, and classically tiled sun room.
Located in the charming Roosevelt Heights neighborhood of SoSo (South of Southern Boulevard, on the East side of Dixie Hwy, in West Palm Beach.
Your host, Steve, a fourth generation Floridian, is your outdoor guide: He can tell you the best places for surfing, mountain biking, trail riding, free diving, snorkeling and more!
Your co-host, Brian, aka “The Jazz Chef,” is your go-to for stayed during the WEF, Art Weekend, Spring Training, and more. Let him introduce you to Antiquing, Worth Avenue shopping, amazing restaurants, nightlife, cooking classes, and more!

LIVING SPACES
LIVING ROOM
As you enter the house, you enter the living room with stylish upscale furnishings, and original artworks. There’s also a 75” flat screen TV, with Apple TV®.
THE DECK
Large sliding glass doors, at the end of the living room, open onto the spacious deck, and a spacious outdoor lounge area, and large grass yard for kids to play.
SUN ROOM
Adjacent to the kitchen table is a sunken sun room, with a couch, tables, ceiling fan, and original art, where more people can sit, and enjoy the bright Florida days.
MASTER BEDROOM
The master features a king size bed. The bedroom is beautifully decorated, with a chic art vibe, and more original art.
SECOND BEDROOM
The second bedroom features a queen bed. Style is a kitschy-cozy-cool, with… you guessed it! More original art.
PARKING
Parking is available both in the drive (one car), and directly in front of the house.
ACCESS
This is a single family home. Guests have full access to all areas of the property, including the back yard and garden.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES
A very high quality Ping Pong table is stored in the Laundry Room, Please use under the overhang, outside of the laundry room. Fun for the whole family!
COMMUNICATIONS
All communications between hosts and guests, pertaining to the property, or needs during your stay, must be made via VRBO’s direct messaging system.
We cannot text, or call you. PLEASE HAVE YOUR APP LOADED ON A WORKING DEVICE, ON THE DAY OF YOUR ARRIVAL.
NOISE and PARTIES
We are located in a quiet, tranquil, residential neighborhood. We respect our neighbors. We ask that you do, too.
We prohibit parties, or gatherings, of any kind, including family gatherings. Please find a place to gather off-property.
We employ MINUT noise monitoring devices, on property. They do not listen to conversations. They monitor, and log, ambient noise levels.
If the noise exceed settings that may disturb the neighbors, we will be notified. We will notify you to bring it back down. Failure to do so, respond, or repeated issues with noise, or added people on property, and we may, at our discretion, terminate your stay.
By accepting this booking, under these rules, terms, and conditions, you agree to vacate, and forfeit and remaining money(ies) from your reservation, if you are in violation of the them.
We also ask, if you enter or exit the property after 10 pm, to please be mindful of noise, on the street, while coming, or going. Our neighbors all work, and need their peace.
SMOKING/VAPING POLICY
There is absolutely NO SMOKING OR VAPING of any substances allowed in the indoor spaces, on our patio/lounge area.
Outdoors Smoking/Vaping is allowed in the designated area only.
PET POLICY
We accept service dogs. Dogs may be allowed if you fill out our pet form, and pay a small fee, found on the form. ESA animals, unless certified as a trained working service animal, are considered pets, and must pay the fee.
Apologies, but no cats due to allergies of the owners, and staff, birds or reptiles, or exotics, due to our insurance, please.
All pets will need current vaccinations. Please provide proof at the time of booking.
PESTS POLICY
We are located in a tropical location. Bugs (roaches, ants, etc.), rodents (rats, mice), raccoons, feral cats, iguanas, snakes and other animals are part of our native environment.
We hire services to provide pest, and animal control.
If you should encounter a pest problem, contact us immediately via Direct Messaging to report the issue. Contacting us, by other means IS NOT notification.
We will address any issue promptly. You further agree to allow us sufficient time to remediate the problem. For simple problems, staff can remediate, but for things that require the pest services, it can take 24-72 hours for them to arrive. You acknowledge that reality, by your reading this disclaimer, prior to your booking.
If either party decides to terminate the stay, you agree, by booking, to a pro-rata refund for the unused days only.
HURRICANE/SEVERE WEATHER POLICY
Florida is subject to hurricanes, tornadoes, tropical storms, water spouts, and other high-wind events. Hurricane season in Florida runs from June to November, with the peak months being August/September.
BOOKINGS IN HURRICANE SEASON (June-November):
They are RARE, but, if, at any time, The Dove is under a tropical storm/hurricane watch where the “incidence cone” is expected to remain focused on our geographic region, with projections of a category strength of one (1), or more:
• You have the option of cancelling the remainder of your stay, at no penalty to you, if we are within the published incidence cone, at seventy-two (72) hours prior to landfall;
• At forty-eight (48) hours prior to your arrival, if we remain in the incidence cone, we will, regretfully, have to cancel your booking. No A/C, power, or water, for days, is not a vacation.
Weather-related communications outages may impact our ability to contact you, but we will make every effort.
Your charges for your stay will be refunded, if already collected, by VRBO, by the company, per their rules for significant weather events, or acts of God.
If VRBO does not refund your stay, and pays us, we will provide you with a voucher, to book the same amount of time, at a future date, at that booking rate, that is valid if The Dove remains operational, after the weather event.
ACTIVE STAYS WHEN A HURRICANE IS APPROACHING:
If you are staying at The Dove when it falls under Tropical Storm/Hurricane Watch, with our property within the published “incidence cone” within forty-eight (48) hours, while you are staying with us, if the storm has the potential to reach a Category 1 level or greater, we will advise you to curtail your stay, and make arrangements to leave the area.
While we have hurricane windows and doors, our proximity to the intercoastal waterway puts us in an evacuation zone. You agree to depart the premises when requested to do so by The Dove staff, or the local authorities.
You will be advised of any changes in your entrance, or exit, if management deems that your safety is at-risk.
If we are forced to close, the remaining balance of your stay will be credited to you. If you booked through a service, see their policies for such a credit, if any. If you booked directly with us, you will receive a voucher for a future stay, at the rate that you booked, for the same, or shorter, duration, that is valid if we are operational.
If we are notified by the news and/or National Weather Service that there will be a window where a hurricane, of any category strength, will pass through our area, we will close the house(s) down 48 hours prior, or as soon as is possible, and ask all guests to vacate.
We will provide you notice, in writing, by direct message, with the booking service, or text, if we are booking directly with you. Your reservation in progress will be cancelled. You will be credited with your remaining stay. You are responsible for your own safety, and evacuation plans, in such a circumstance. Be aware of news on the hurricane’s path. Check on, and book, the necessary flights, rail, or auto transportation to leave the hurricane’s projected pathway.
