About the host
Hosted by Chris Charbonneau
Hosting has been incredibly rewarding for us because so many of the things guests mention are exactly what we hoped people would experience when they stayed here. When we designed and furnished this home, we spent a lot of time thinking about how we wanted it to feel. We wanted it to be peaceful. We wanted it to be comfortable. We wanted it to be a place where people could slow down, reconnect with nature, spend time with the people they care about, and leave feeling refreshed. We wanted it to feel special without feeling formal, and luxurious without losing the warmth and comfort of home. What means the most to us is seeing those same themes reflected back in the reviews.
Guests consistently talk about the quiet, the mountain views, the wildlife, the dark skies, and the sense of peace they found here. They mention gathering around the fire pit, enjoying the patio with a morning coffee, cooking together in the kitchen, playing board games with family, and simply taking time to relax. We're especially touched when guests notice the little things. The welcome treats, the s'mores kits, the stocked kitchen, the dog toys, the extra blankets, the firewood, and all the small details that we hoped would make someone feel cared for during their stay.
Perhaps the greatest compliment of all is that several guests have returned for additional stays, while many others have told us they can't wait to come back. Knowing that people want to return and create more memories here is something we never take for granted. At the end of the day, this house is a place that means a great deal to us personally. Sharing it with others has been a joy, and it makes us genuinely happy to know that so many guests have experienced it in the same way we do.
Why they chose this property
What we love most about the area is how easily you can choose your own pace. Spend the day hiking Old Rag or exploring Shenandoah National Park, then return to unwind by the fire pit under a sky full of stars. Visit nearby wineries, breweries, farm markets, and locally owned restaurants, or take a scenic drive through some of Virginia's most beautiful countryside.
What makes this property unique
Our guests appreciate the privacy, the dark night skies perfect for stargazing, and the opportunity to experience Virginia's mountains without sacrificing comfort. The home is thoughtfully designed for couples, families, and friends who want to hike, explore local wineries and breweries, or simply enjoy a quiet weekend surrounded by nature.
Whether you're watching wildlife from the deck, gathering around the fire pit after a day on the trails, or planning your next adventure over a morning cup of coffee, 4Trees is designed to be the kind of place you'll want to return to year after year.
