A perfect beach vacation rental. Beach is right across the street, house slept 6 comfortably. Large deck with grill and table that seats 6 comfortably. Fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer (game changer if you have kids) Would highly recommend and will definitely book again for another family summer vacation.

Absolutely perfect house. Newly updated/renovated and incredibly cozy. It has everything you need, and is basically on the beach so very easy to get there. We could hear the waves at night - a natural sound machine! Would love to return.

Absolutely gorgeous home close to the beach. The enclosed front porch is a great area to sit to hear the sounds of the ocean and the large back deck with grill is perfect for family dinners. As someone who has been coming to Maine with my family for vacation my entire life I was so excited to find such an amazing home to continue the tradition with my kids. Now that we travel from Missouri instead of NY for our summer family reunions, having a home that included linens and has a washer and dryer was perfect! Rick was wonderful as a host, and I would highly recommend this home for a wonderful York vacation!

So close to the beach!

We had a short walk to the beach; no need to search and pay for a parking spot. Comfortable accommodations, the kitchen had everything we needed. We would stay there again.

Wonderful family weekend

In town for a family wedding and the cottage was perfect. The location was great, plenty of parking, and well equipped. Especially enjoyed the deck. A nice little bonus!

Excellent rental and highly recommended. Location to beach was very convenient, especially with kids in tow. House was fully stocked with necessities, with ample room for us. We’ll definitely be looking to stay again next year.

Great location!

We enjoyed our stay however there was a glitch with check in. House had not been cleaned and linen were not washed, had to clean the house ourselves. Great location!

Steps to the beach

The property was well maintained. Sleeping to the sounds of ocean waves was delightful. As well the beach access being right on the other side of the street was terrific. Owner was easy to communicate with. Would consider staying at this property again.

Perfect beach access

Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood and the beach access is a plus. My only con would be that there was no air conditioning and if the weather would have been warmer it would have been quite uncomfortable.

Close to the beach

This was our second year renting the property. It was less clean than our original stay. But the proximity to the beach just a short walk away made up for it. It was an excellent week spent with family.

The Best

A lovely older home with character. Everyone enjoyed it. Great restaurants, especially Stones Throw. Wonderful striper fishing with Greg at G Cove Charters, 7 minutes away. We will return. Thank you.

Vacation cottage

This property was so delightful, warm and welcoming. Reminded my two brothers and me of the cottages my parents rented when we were kids. Those two brothers, their wives and I were very comfortable. The property was very well stocked. We lacked for nothing. Our only recommendation is to replace the shower head in the smaller bathroom.

Good value great location great time

I recommend this vacation rental home. The House is the second house across street from beach so only steps from York Beach which is beautiful! I stayed with my wife and kids (17 and 20) which was perfect for this house which has three double beds and three bedrooms. Could sleep five or six but would be a bit tight. There are two bathrooms. One bathroom shower did not work well as water flowed from both shower and bathtub faucet simultaneously. Lighting in house could be improved. Overall a great house for a beach vacation.

Great location - literally steps away from the beach! Convenient and cozy for 5 adults. Having 2 bathrooms,dishwasher and laundry a plus. Disappointed we did not have access to beach chairs ,(Long Sands is a rocky beach),although we contacted owner prior to / and during our stay. Miscommunication somewhere along the line as to where appropriate key for shed was located. Need car to get to other restaurants or activities - went to Short Sands which is only a short drive (15 mins with traffic). Our stay was comfortable, place was tidy , but lacked in a few detail housekeeping issues. Enjoyed the back deck, less traffic and noise. Had a great stay and would consider revisiting.

A comfortable and well-stocked home

This is a comfortable and well-stocked home in a fantastic location just steps from the beach. Rick was welcoming and responsive to questions prior to our trip. Based on other guests’ reviews, we expected that the home needed a few updates, but we were still surprised by the number of small issues we encountered (broken shower, stained bedding, etc.). Although the listing says that there is at least one day between bookings, the previous guests seemed to have just departed—the house was still being cleaned when we arrived. The previous guests had used the portable air conditioner, which had leaked water and saturated a large area of the dining room’s carpet. The carpet was so thoroughly soaked that it still hadn’t dried when we checked out four days later. With no property manager nearby, there was no way to resolve the issues we encountered during our stay. For such an expensive rental, we had higher expectations for the condition of the property.

Thank you for your review and feedback. It was a busy summer and we added the portable AC unit to help for hot days , unfortunately it didn't drain properly causing the wet rug. We have fixed it and continue to update to keep our home in top condition for all our guests.

Although we currently live in NJ - our family roots are here in Maine where we vacationed every summer since I was born (way too long ago).

Why they chose this property

Our beachfront home was built by my grandparents and has been with us ever since. It has always been a favorite spot for our family vacations.

What makes this property unique

The funny thing that makes me totally relax is the smell of the ocean air from when you first arrive and look out over the ocean. Just watching the surf and listening to the sounds of the seashore is one of the most tranquil and soothing experiences I can imagine. The compliment to this is the plethora of outstanding local restaurants and taverns with the best New England Clambakes anywhere.
