Perfect for family getaway

Winter family getaway with two families. This home was perfect and had plenty of room for relaxing and games. The kitchen was stocked with every appliance, cocktail glass, pot/pan you would ever need. We did need to contact the host and they promptly responded and resolved any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing yoga retreat spot for my studio!

The house is perfect, and the host Jilayne made it even more conducive for a yoga retreat by offering to move the furniture from the living room beforehand to create a cozy yoga space overlooking the lake. The sauna was probably our favorite part– it has a gorgeous view, especially with the fall colors on the trees! All of the rooms are so well-decorated with special touches that celebrate Michigan's charm!

A great place for a family get together

Beautiful views of Crystal Lake. Very large nice home with plenty of room for 16 people (Eight adults and eight children. The owners were very accommodating and sent us a new coffee pot and fondue pot. The place was VERY clean and the huge kitchen was perfect for us foodies, as we love to cook all our own meals.

Responsive and Fun

The house has an incredible view and the most comfortable beds and furniture ever! Our group goes to Beulah every year, and were unable to book our usual house. When we found White Birch Nest, we were so excited! The space fit us perfectly and Jaylene (the host) was INCREDIBLY responsive for anything we needed. The driveway in a winter storm can be challenging and Jaylene had a plow truck to us in 20 minutes after we reached out. We had no issues :)

Family Time

We had an amazing time at this property! It was such a beautiful house and had the perfect amount of space for our entire family of 14. Everyone had a bed and there were enough bathrooms! We loved the games and that there were games on hand as well. We traveled out to the beaches and Sleeping Bear Dunes and then came back and really enjoyed the deck! The hosts were amazing at communication before we came and while we there. Would be more than happy to come back!

Large, relaxing gather spot for our group

My recent stay at White Birch Nest was, dare I say, perfect. I was in charge of an executive retreat to beautiful Benzie County and needed a large home with 8 bedrooms for our group. We spent most of our days outdoors but reconvened to White Birch Nest every night for dinner, drinks and plenty of rest. Each bedroom was well appointed and the game room was a great way for us to have some fun after hours. White Birch is at the end of a long winding road which provided a quiet, secluded getaway. We hired a professional chef to cook for us the last evening. She was quite impressed with all of the appliances and tools in the home. Normal rentals lack in this area. I can't recommend enough to anyone looking for a large gathering place for friends or family. Vince P.

Our family inadvertently, but thankfully, created @TheNest_Collective in 2020, a small family owned and operated, boutique brand of destination vacation rentals we have personally renovated, redesigned and created an experience for our guests. Our focus honed in on elevating that guests experience first and foremost and we immediately fell in love with hosting families and groups of friends looking to vacation together, under one roof! We take so much pride in helping to create core memories and wanting our guests to return...to any of our properties in the Collective! We want our guests to know they will be taken care of in the same way, at any Nest Property.
With our two school age children, we love to work hard and play hard, to travel AND create that environment for others to do the same!

We would be honored to be host you!

Cheers,
Doug and Jilayne Smith

Why they chose this property

White Birch Nest stands apart as one of the largest and most spacious homes in the area, designed for gathering and making memories. While it’s not directly on Crystal Lake (public beaches and boat launches are nearby), what it does offer is unmatched space, eight thoughtfully themed bedrooms, and an elevated focus on comfort, details, and hospitality.

Unlike big-box management companies, White Birch is family-owned and operated. With local boots on the ground and a dedicated turnover team, we take pride in ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued—you’re never just a number. After five years of hosting, we know that the best stays are about more than just a house—they’re about connection and adventure.

Come spread out, unwind in comfort, and make unforgettable memories at White Birch Nest!

What makes this property unique

We are likely unique in the area because White Birch is extremely spacious and does not jam a ton of guests into a small amount of rooms, We offer 8 large bedrooms with only King or Queen beds, multiple dining spaces and incredible hospitality. Hosting guests fills our bucket and helping create memories for families is our top priority!
