This beach cottage is magical and in the perfect location - beach living at its best! We are also dog friendly! The primary living space is on the second floor but there is a surprise on the ground floor - additional living and entertaining space with separate access to make this cottage the perfect vacation rental.

Close to both downtown Emerald Isle and 20 minutes from Atlantic Beach/Morehead City this location home is central to all of the Crystal Coast. There is also nearby is a boat ramp that is easy to access. There is plenty of parking on the back side of the house.

The amenities at this cottage are terrific - all you need and more to enjoy beach life. There is plenty of space for outdoor enjoyment. The porch wraps around most of the house providing beautiful beach and sound views! The front porch faces the ocean and has outdoor seating. The side porch boasts loungers for the sun lovers and the back porch has the sound view and a great screened in porch with a television, a perfect place for reading or naps! Downstairs there is additional outdoor seating and a fenced in yard for kids and dogs! There is also a huge, private outdoor shower with a dry area for dressing.

The inside is amazing with plenty of windows to catch the views in every room! The front of the house has glass sliders that offer amazing beach views! On the main floor the cottage has a cozy family room, large kitchen with a huge island perfect for socializing over meals. There is also a table that seats 4 and two pantries with plenty of room for storage.

There are three bedrooms on the main floor as well. The front bedroom has a queen bed and has glass sliders that open up to the front deck providing amazing beach views. The middle guest room (Turtle Room) has a queen bed with plenty of storage. The master bedroom is oversized with a king bed, plenty of closets and an outstanding view of the sound! NEW for 2026 - we added a full master bathroom with a shower! There is a full bathroom on the main floor with shower/tub.

The ground floor has access from both the front and back of the house and is another terrific space for entertaining. This living area is really an additional suite that includes:
- a sitting area with large television,
- desk for those that have to work,
- a wet bar with small fridge/microwave/coffee maker,
- plenty of storage,
- king bed,
- large full bath with washer and dryer (shower only)
- porta-crib and infant tub available upon request

We renovated the property with the goal to keep the authentic cottage feel while providing all the amenities of modern living - beautifully decorated and fully functional!

Other amenities:
- very good wi-fi, smart tv's, plenty of places to recharge those gadgets.
- Fully stocked kitchen for those that like to cook and all necessary
appliances including a separate ice maker, air fryer, toaster, crockpot, dual
carafe/pod coffeemaker, griddle, blender, etc
- Plenty of dressers and closets for storage
- Beach chairs and beach towels
- Beach wagon, cooler
- Charcoal grill and tools
- Aloe plant for those occasional sunburns!

The cottage has great views but even better both the beach and sound are steps away! There are two beach access points right across the street in the front and sound access across the street in the back! The sunrise and sunsets are simply amazing and you can enjoy both from the beach, sound or from the large porch!

Close by attractions:
Tons of local shopping and restaurants, side walks that are great for walking/riding bikes, Bogue Pier, historical Swansboro, mini golf and water park, NC Aquarium, Fort Macon, several local golf courses, Morehead City - home of Big Rock and historic downtown Beaufort are just a few local attractions minutes away!

This venue accommodates both long and short term rentals throughout the year. Make sure you make your reservations now as this cottage gets booked for the season quickly.

This is a beautiful home. The kitchen is well-stocked. And, the owner clearly wants her guests to be happy. We had a snafu with the property management company, getting into the house, and she was quick to assist, even though it was the holidays. We appreciated her dedication to being sure we were taken care of. The house is very dog-friendly with a fenced in yard. The beach access is very close and the view of the ocean from the deck was gorgeous. We watched dolphins play our entire stay. We will be back!

What a perfect beach home! We stayed for a long weekend and I wish we could have stayed longer. This home is well stocked, clean and in a perfect location. Our favorite week of the year!

This is our second year to rent Pack’d House and this year was just as wonderful as last year. We love the covered porch with the great views of the ocean and the proximity to the beach. The house has everything you need. The communication with the owner was excellent. We love being able to bring our dogs who are a big part of our family. Thank you for a great week!

The actual property owner was great answering our questions, but we did have a few issues due to storms in the area, that knocked out the internet and we didnt hear from the property manager. The home was really nice, had everything you could ask for, and was just across the street from the beach. Wed stay here again in a heartbeat.

Amazing stay

This was our first time to emerald isle, we just loved this home. Shortest walk to the beach, unexpected amazing views and a beautiful fully stocked cottage. The kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We appreciated aloe plant for sun burn and extra toiletries in the bathroom for items left behind. We spent the whole time on the porch enjoying two views! We will be back!

Beautiful home that was tastefully decorated. Views to die for on the front porch. We specially appreciated the lower outdoor shower and decking for cleaning beach toys. Negatives were the TV remote volume control did not work downstairs. The king bed downstairs was so uncomfortable. The separate ice machine upstairs started to smell like burning rubber so we turned it off. Upstairs fridge needs to be updated with ice maker.

Our family and our pets spent a wonderful Thanksgiving at this cottage -Packed House. The house was beautiful and furnishings were wonderful. I must say the kitchen has everything you will need to cook(best I have ever experienced when renting)! Location was great with only steps away from the beach and sound. We spent time on the beach with the dogs, looking for shells and enjoying the views. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful!! If you are looking for a perfect place at Emerald Isle you can’t pass this gem up!!

Great Week at Emerald Isle

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pack'd House. There are two easy beach accesses, one right in front of the house and the other (with a ramp for easier access) is a very short walk. We enjoyed sound and ocean views with our morning coffee, depending on which way the breeze was blowing. Our kids and dog enjoyed playing in the fenced in yard. There were plenty of beach chairs and a very spacious outside shower.Inside, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. TVs are in each bedroom. The separate (no interior access) downstairs bedroom and office space provided a wonderful, secluded area for the limited work which had to be done. The home is in a terrific location. We made multiple trips to Beaufort and Morehead City, and were able to be home for plenty of beach time.We had a tremendous week, and the home certainly played a large part!

What a wonderful thing to stand in the kitchen, look out the patio door and see the ocean and turn and look out the kitchen window and see the sound! All the water experiences at your fingertips. Shortest commute to the beach without being oceanfront-just walk across the street! The provided chairs were so handy and spared having to pack them. The house was beautifully decorated, bed was comfortable and the abundance of phone chargers was a nice touch. Definitely a house to return to!

Our family of 4 was looking for a weekend getaway to unwind and the Pack’d House did not disappoint. It is such a lovely cottage. Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds and in a perfect location. The beach was steps away and we were able to take in amazing sunsets from the sound. When we were not on the beach, we enjoyed sitting on the rockers on the front porch and watching the ocean. The house was nice, clean and comfortable. The beds were great! The basement family room/extra bed and bath were nice, but we did not utilize the space. Beach access was easy and the community was quiet. When we got to the house, the previous guest did not clean up their dog waste, but the management company took care of clean up quickly. The property was ideal for our pets, since the fenced in area was completely fenced in up to the deck. Our pomeranians loved being off-leash in the yard. Overall, a good experience, and would rent again.

We just spent a week here and were very impressed with the house and its location. You are surrounded by the ocean and the sound. The house was clean and well prepared when we arrived. It was well stocked with kitchen and bath amenities. The beach access was right across the street. The wrap around porch was probably our favorite feature and we spent every morning and evening taking in the amazing view from the rockers/loungers provided. The house has a full kitchen, well stocked with what you need in addition to a charcoal grill so we did not have to have too many meals out, although the island has some great restaurants to enjoy. We would highly recommend this rental and look forward to staying there again in the future. Thanks.

Just like home…

This property was not just another vacation rental…it was a wonderful vacation home! The decor was very cozy and inviting. The kitchen was well stocked, beds very comfortable, and front porch had a nice view of the ocean. Our 10 year old pup loved being with us and enjoyed the fenced yard and gated porch. I’m noting a few things below just for informational purposes…not as negatives. We loved our stay and would definitely plan another stay in this lovely home! A couple things to note:1. There is only one bathroom on the main level for the main three bedrooms. The second bathroom is on the ground floor as part of the little “ studio apartment”. 2. The check-in location is actually about 12 miles from the property as you come onto the island from Cedar Point. We usually come into town from the opposite direction through Morehead City and pick up our grocery order in Atlantic Beach. I didn’t realize this until receiving the check information the day before our arrival. The check-in location was difficult to find at the end of a building cluster. The name on the door did it match the name in the instructions. So that was a bit confusing.

Very Disappointed

Upon arriving we noticed a strong gasoline-like odor. It was so strong that we had to open all the windows to air it out. The smell was coming from the AC vents. After several calls to the property manager, a technician was sent who thought it smelled like charcoal and removed the air filters, but the odor persisted. Hours later, the odor continued, and the property manager stopped responding. We called the fire department, but they couldn't identify the source and suggested it might be from recent painting. The homeowner insisted there was no gas there and dismissed our concerns claiming no prior complaints. That night, we turned off the AC and kept the windows open. The next day, when we turned the AC back on, the odor continued. We requested an HVAC pro. He used a key to enter the locked garage and immediately found the source: 11 gallons of gas stored on a shelf. The air handler was in the garage, unenclosed, with exposed ductwork, drawing in fumes and blowing them into the house. The HVAC pro stated the gas cans needed to be removed and the garage aired out. He opened a window and informed the property manager, who promised to remove the cans later, but they weren’t. The next morning, I removed the cans and aired out the garage myself. Later, the property manager retrieved the cans but closed the garage, stopping ventilation. Hours later, the homeowner called, accusing us of violating the rental contract by entering the garage and kicked us out instead of fixing problem.

This location is perfect! Ocean views in the front, sound views in the back. The sunrises and sunsets are amazing! We are so close to EI downtown, Atlantic Beach and Morehead City including the wonderful Aquarium;

What makes this property unique

The location and the views! We totally renovated the cottage when we purchased it in 2021 but kept the true cottage vibe. Cozy and a great place to just unwind and enjoy!
