From hiking, canoeing, boating or playing pickleball, Papa Bear knows the perfect activity for you and even offers concierge service. You will enjoy a small town without giving up your favorite fast food chains or coffee places (Hiawassee has Dunkin and Starbucks!). And Hiawassee has the best dam barbecue in the area.

** Upon renting we provide you with a full guide of the areas including activities, food, suggestions, etc. It is imperative to us that you enjoy your stay!

About the host
Hosted by Christina Crumbley

Tina and Tom are enthusiastic hosts striving to give our guests amazing mountain and lake experiences. We live in Cumming Georgia, just a short 72 miles away and love the Hiawassee are so much we wanted to start with short term rentals and possibly retire there some day. We both also love our pet dogs and cats and know the challenges and joys of vacation when you have pets, so we want make that an easier experience as well. Our general approach and business plan is to offer value, the beauty of nature, and a fun experience for couples, families, people who want to get away and unplug, and provide a central location to enjoy the beauty of North Georgia.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood chose us. While in the process of closing on our other property, we found a hidden gem that had gone through a 80% renovation, but needed a little love and creativity to finish the rest. This became our project as a newly engaged couple, testing our communications, perserverance, inginuity, and do it yourself skills. In the end, we feel we created a place people will love year round, maybe as much as we do when we get the chance to host ourselves.
What makes this property unique
There are many beautiful places in Hiawassee, but what makes this property unique is it has enough space to relax and unplug without being to far into the mountains. You can sit on the deck sipping a starbucks coffee or eating a Dunkin Donut from 5 minutes away while the dear are still foraging for sweet morning vegatation, hit the lake in 5 minutes, be in a casino in Murphy 40 minutes away, walk the streets of Helen 25 minutes away, drive the North Georgia Scenic Byways, hike a smal section of the Appalachian Trail, come back to the cabin and plug in your hybrid SUV or EV, and then reflect on your day sitting around a (firewood provided) fire pit. When you do decide to call it a day, we made sure we provided THE MOST comfortable beds possible. Our guests typically enjoy all of this in one day, but if you want to relax and get around to some of it eventually, we also provided the latest smart TVs and internet, so you can unplug by being plugged into the virtual side of life as well.
