Perfect Pirate Escape

The pirate ship bunk bed was a huge hit with the kiddos as well! I love the theme of the whole house. Perfect!

Fantastic theming for the whole family

We had a fantastic stay and the children loved the theming. Everything from the kitchen magnets to the toilet paper holders is pirate themed. They even have a children's book about becoming a pirate in the kids room and we had fun reading it at bedtime and making pirate voices. Then you step out the front door and find a pirate ship playground. The whole complex is a fun family atmosphere with pool, splash pad, and BBQ grills in the island theme. We will definitely be back and we are so happy we chose this for our stay.

Location is in easy walking distance to the beach even for little ones, the front door opens to the the pirate ship playground, and the pirate decorations throughout are very cute- our boys loved it!

The only thing that could have made our experience better was to be more generous in the amount of dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent and towels supplied.

The cabin was perfect to bring your littles to. Right next to playground and splash pad. Four min walk to the beach. It was perfect!

Reviewer Comments: This was a great rental very clean and well set up to accommodate my family; my kids loved the pirate ship bunk bed and the playground right outside the front door! Padre escapes management team is great also, they are easy to get ahold of and came quickly when we had trouble getting into the unit. My only complaint for the unit is the dishwasher needs to be mounted properly so it can drain, it had standing water in the bottom causing a foul odor, also the front door was difficult to open. In general a great place and I would come back!

Happy little Pirates

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time here. We all loved the pirate theme, especially the bunkbeds. There was a captains hat in a toy chest, and they took turns wearing it. The property was really nice and clean. It really was perfect for families. The pool and splash pad area were clean, with a safety fence. The playground with pirate ship fort and swings was awesome. Our rental was in front of the playground, so we could send our boys out there and watch through the blinds. The kitchen was well stocked for utensils, plates, bowls, and cookware. I was especially grateful for kid safe plastic dishes. For the master bedroom, I do think the mattress is a bit hard, but that could just be my preference. I did bring some of my own pillows and blankets from home, which I would do again. I might recommend bringing a box fan for just a little more air flow, but did not have a big issue with the temperature. Everything was very clean, with slight exception of the shower mat in guest bath, and dish rack under kitchen sink. But, I believe they just got put away wet, and that started to grow. As well, the dishwasher smelled pretty bad,but it probably just hadn't been run in awhile. I would also bring better toilet paper. I did have to reach out a couple times to Padre Escapes, mostly directions on pool gate and using the key pad, but there was a plug missing in the tub, so I reached out and they were so helpful and kind. The maintenance person texted when he would be arriving and got it fixed in less than an hour. I was really appreciative of their helpfulness. And they took really good care of the property!Smugglers Cove itself is right next to the beach access road, and really close to places for sightseeing and things to do. I hope to stay again in the future, and would absolutely recommend the location and Padre Escapes to friends and family.Thank you for helping make our trip memorable and enjoyable!
