We had a wonderful stay at this lake house! The property was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was beautiful and the house was a great place to spend time with family and friends. We would definitely stay here again!

House is set up on a hill with partial views of Lake Michigan. Close walk to the beach. Good for hosting a group. The wraparound deck is nice if the weather is good. Be advised there are lots of stairs to access the house, so individuals with mobility concerns and bringing luggage/groceries, etc is more challenging. Kitchen is well-equipped, outside there is a bbq, and the home has everything you would need for a beach stay. Annie, the host, is an excellent communicator and easy to get in touch with.
We had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect, The home was well kept, clean and decorated beautifully. The porch was our favorite place to hangout. It has a beautiful view of Lake Michigan, and there was often a nice breeze coming off the lake. The host was very responsive and helpful.
Beautiful house with a great big porch with Lake Michigan view. We spent some late evenings on that porch talking and enjoying the sound of the water. The kitchen is the best stocked that we have experienced with VRBO houses. The owner must like to cook and thought of everything. Multiple pots & pans, utensils, pot holders, etc… awesome. There are multiple framed info sheets by each of the doors. Incredibly helpful! We had a problem with the gate code to enter the neighborhood- our host immediately got the code reset and made sure we even had a backup code. All the light switches are labeled so you aren’t having to guess- thank you! House is charmingly decorated and very comfortable. We hope to have a reason to go back!
We loved our fall stay at this cottage. Tough to beat the charm of Macatawa. Parking was easy, and the cottage was charming and spacious. It was a great set up for a family, with generous rooms. Sunset and lake views were fantastic, and the outdoor spaces were incredibly comfortable!
Location, no surprise, was perfect to experience Lake MI beach. The porch really helped extend living area.Well stocked kitchen with quirky microwave and oven.Appreciated games and propane fire place for wonderful evenings.
We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful community. The property was lovely, aside for the steep staircase to get up to the house...it was challenging to get luggage up to and from the property.
Views and community were fantastic.
The stay was great. Two mid 70's grandparents with son, daughter, and 5 grandchildren. The beach nearby is awesome. The home was in great shape with a well equipped kitchen. Enjoyed grilling and sitting by the propane fire pit. Nice seating both inside and outside.
Can’t say enough good things about our stay. The house had everything we needed: kitchen stuff, beach stuff, games, laundry, tv, etc. Spacious deck/porches with great views; very peaceful and surrounded by trees and breezes. Just a short walk from the house to the excellent beach where we could also walk alone the shore to the pier/lighthouse. Both Holland and Saugatuck were easy drives with great shopping and restaurants. Bonus to our stay was joining the neighborhood tennis club as a weekly member for court time and classes.
Our family had a very happy stay at this home in mid-August, 2025. Everything was clean and comfortable and our property owner couldn’t have been more perfectly accessible and friendly. We had two infants with our group, so much time was spent enjoying them and each other on the marvelous wrap around porch. We stayed in for most of our meals and really enjoyed the lovely kitchen and high end appliances- especially the gas stove top and convection oven. Finally, we were very happy with the easy and short walk to the beach. One of the best features of this property.
We rented for 10 days-- w 2 grndparents, 4 adults, 3 teens, and 2 littles (4, 6)-- it worked for everyone!
House VERY clean, well appointed w everything needed! Lots of games, beach supplies (chairs, paddle boards, umbrellas, towels, sandtoys, cooler, etc.) The stairs up/down are about 1 1/2 flights- so you get to burn off some of beach snacks- and have sunset/lake views!
There is nook around side of porch for beach stuff, bikes, etc. Not completely dry, but out of major weather. Wrap around porch great for reading, games, etc.
Excellent WiFi works on all decks/porches.
Bedrooms comfy, and up/downstairs on own AC systems. Lots of pillows, blankets, towels, linens, etc. TP/paper napkins, papertowels/ laundry soap/etc. provided. Fans in all rooms)
Kitchen v. well appointed- coffee maker- drip as well as pods. Grinder too. Basics (salt/pepper/oil/etc) to get started as well.
Parking for 4 vehicles no problem-- but there is NO cellular near house-- program in locale before you get close. Initial carry of all stuff, food, beer, etc. up stairs was a haul, but then set for week!
Beach about 2 min walk - easy to go and forth.
Right at the bottom of the hill is marina with boat/kayak rental, as well as bike paths which go along bay. Small nature trail too. Holland about 20 min with anything you need. Husband said mountain biking at Upper Macatowa nature area was great.
Owner SUPER responsive to any concerns, and fixed any issues super quick. NO concerns! Great place!
White Capp’d Cottage is such a beautiful house and property! We spent so much time on the large wrap around porch, and the outside firepit. Nestled on the bluffs and trees, we heard the waves and bird calls daily. The beach and sunsets were magnificent! Kitchen was great, and well stocked for all our cooking needs. Annie was a dream to work with; extremely responsive with our questions. Thank you Annie, for giving us the opportunity for an amazing vacation with our family!
