Place was clean and comfortable....beds were nice as well which is important to us. It could use some updates but otherwise pleasant place to stay. Host was very responsive and nice to work with.
The property was fantastic. Clean, inviting, comfortable, centrally located. Lots of things to do in the area, close to Mackinaw City. Loved sitting on the back deck, grilling out. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location for boating chain of lakes and a day trip to Mackinac. We also loved being able to walk to restaurants. The deck on the river was a great place to sit and unwind from the day. Thanks!
This place had a nice view of the river from the kitchen. Sitting down by the river was very relaxing and peaceful. We stayed during a very hot time and the one air conditioner up stairs was not able to keep the house cool. So the house was very hot and that made it hard to sleep. The place was clean and we would stay again.

I purchased another unit and dehumidifier during your stay. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. The air conditioning was a situation I was unable to control.
we very much enjoyed our stay at the house. It was our first time in Cheboygan. . The location was great. We could easily walk to the restaurants and shops. We took the glass bottom boat tour, which was very close to the house and this was very enjoyable. it was fun to watch the boats go down the river in the back of the house too … Plenty of space in the house. We also enjoyed the games and cards!
We chose this VRBO due to its location on the Inland Waterway. We arrived by pontoon boat so we brought a stepstool which was nice for loading and unloading. It is convenient for walking to the downtown restaurants. It is dated but we new that from the pictures. It is very clean and well equipped. Mary was easy to deal with.
We had a great time! The house had lots of space and loved the decks! Stairs were steep but the landing near the river was great! Not enough chairs at table for all 9 of us to eat together but we made it work. The area was easy to get to all the places we wanted to visit.
Great location but very dated. Water heater had to be emptied before it wasn’t brown water. And smelled of eggs. Whole place smelled like that for a day. Simple issue (rod needs replaced) but should have been ready to go when we checked in. And it wasn’t. Otherwise great stay.
First of all the owner of property was the best & most awesome communicator I've ever dealt with, so accommodating in everyway. Location was perfect. Guests should be expected to get their daily workout while on vaca going down to the deck to watch the boaters as they come by on the channel....our favorite space for gathering. There was not one issue or request that was not taken care of immediately. Oh...our only issue was how hot it got one day & asked for temp to be adjusted...this was unfortunately 9pm at night when we came back after being gone in afternoon & early evening and even at that time if night was responded too immediately. Can't say enough great things & would love to return in the future.
We chose this house for the docking location on the Inland Waterway. Boat dock was beautiful, but so high we couldn't anchor our 21ft boat at the property safely. Fortunately, there are several launches close by but then we had to pull our boat in and out each day which want ideal. The bones and decor of the house are very dated, but that is shown in the pics provided and we were going in aware. Due to age of home, my 80 yo father also struggled with uneven temps, lack of lighting (lamp lit), lots of steep steps in & out and difficult water temp adjustments in the shower. Just be aware this house may not be suitable for everyone. Pleasantly, beds were very comfortable, linens were nice, it was clean and it was a very short walk into downtown for food, shopping (be sure to check out Queen's Head complex & Cheboygan Brewery) and hiking.
I have had very good luck with VRBO stays and this was no exception. The room overlooking river was our favorite. We ate, played games and just talked and enjoyed watching the ducks dive and glide past. We didn't use the deck, October is not good for being outside for long.
We had a family house to clean and it was a hard and extensive job. It was so great to come "home" after work and know we could take a private shower, lie down or sit and talk after the hard work, then not have to leave to find a restaurant to eat a meal. We were able to prepare our meals in the kitchen and the area was open enough that the others could sit and include the cook in whatever conversation was going on.
I would highly recommend this house if you are planning on a stay in Cheboygan. The location is very good and, the small problem we had, which I still think was my fault, was promptly taken care of. A very good 12-day stay!
This house was perfect for our family trip. Our adult children had their own rooms upstairs. It was great to moor the boat at the dock & just hope over to the bay or take the locks to Mullet lake.
