Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
This property is not as described or as it appears in pictures. The house needs a deep clean, a full paint job, and new flooring throughout the living and kitchen areas. The blinds and baseboards look as if they've never been cleaned. The coffee pot had water in it with small bugs floating around—the appliances are low-end. The washer only washes on hot. The walls are soiled and look as if they have tried to touch up the paint, but the touch-up paint doesn't match. The flooring in the living room/kitchen area is coming up. You can see the subfloor in some areas. They have tried to cover this with rugs. The floors have definite water damage. The furniture is cheap, and some of it was broken (not what's pictured). The backyard and deck area are filthy and unusable.You can't access the fire pit area due to overgrown landscaping. The grill is rusted and not usable. We were unable to park in the driveway due to overgrown trees. The host addressed this on day 3 of our stay. We discussed all of these issues and more with the host, and she offered to send cleaners and painters out during our stay. The property should have been as advertised. We did not rent the house to have cleaners and painters there during our stay. This house needs major attention before it is rented again, or the description, price, and pictures need to be updated to show what you're really getting.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I want to address several points here, as they don't fully reflect what happened during your stay. Our home is pet-friendly, and the property does show some wear consistent with that — light floor scratches and a few scuffed baseboards, all clean and typical for a pet-friendly rental. When you raised these concerns, I offered to send a cleaning crew and have the baseboards touched up while you were out, at no cost and with no disruption to your stay. That offer was declined. You then requested a full refund to relocate, which wasn't something we could offer given our cancellation policy. VRBO reviewed the situation independently and confirmed the conditions you described fell under normal wear and tear, and that a full refund wasn't warranted. Following that, additional concerns were raised that hadn't come up in our earlier conversations, and the offer to have any of these items addressed was again declined. I take guest concerns seriously and responded quickly with concrete solutions as soon as issues were brought to my attention. I'm sorry the stay didn't meet your expectations, but I want future guests to know that concerns raised during this stay were met with prompt offers to resolve them. We wish you well in finding a rental that's the right fit for your needs.
