Very cute and clean 2 level apartment near Hirai station. Convenient for JR line, but not metro. 3 bedrooms with a bed in the common/kitchen area downstairs as well. Had some glitches with communication through VRBO around check in but host was luckily very reachable via whatsapp in emergency. Good for base being out and about, but layout of house means there's no area for common eating/hanging out so be aware if you're planning to eat in or play games.

The property was spacious for our family. The location was an easy walk to Hirai station, restaurants, and stores. We have runners in our family, so it was a quick and convenient walk to access the Arakawa River Trail for running. Our internet went out, but the owners were fantastic and sent someone out immediately to restore service. We would definitely stay again.

Rented QiQi House for a family vacation with my 85 yr old Mom. One thing to immediately note are the super steep and short staircases that go to the upper 3 floors. Fortunately, downstairs there is a full sized mattress along with the kitchen and a full bathroom, perfect for Mom. IF ANY OF YOUR GUESTS HAVE MOBILITY ISSUES, PLEASE TAKE THE STAIRS INTO CONSIDERATION! The upstairs tatami mat rooms are each capable of sleeping 2 on the floor using traditional futon mattresses. Floor be hard for some!The bathrooms on the 1st and 3rd floor have a Japanese tub with an external shower. There is a Japanese Toilet on each floor! The heated seat is a blessing in winter!The 3rd floor bathroom has a washer/dryer. I did notice a slight mildewy smell probably a previous guests leaving the door closed.The small kitchen a nice sized fridge, electric stove, lil oven, a microwave, utensils, and dishes.There really isn’t an area to congregate except downstairs next to the kitchen which is also where the mattress bed is but we still managed to hang out down there with 6. The location is super convenient to JR Hirai Station and only a 30-45 train ride to all of Tokyo’s hot spots! There are plenty of nearby food options, convenience stores, and market!Property Management was excellent at communicating and meeting all of our needs!Note, highly recommend hiring a private car if you arrive into NRT. 60 mins drive, 25kWould absolutely stay here again!

A Highly Recommended House

I would recommend QiQi Hirai House which is conveniently located 4 min away from a train station and in a quiet neighborhood (away from busy parts of Tokyo). There is a good amount of moms/pops restaurants in the vicinity as well as a really nice neighborhood market that has everything. It has everything needed for a long stay. On a side note, I would advise drying items on a line versus using a dryer in case you are used to a reg. American standard dryer. We were provided with detergent and softener, soap, shampoo, etc. Kitchen towels and papertowels were provided upon request. The TV has netflix, etc. We were guided on how to switch the TV interface to English upon our request. The host was in touch with us as needed even late at night. It is a nice house, highly recommended
