The setting is what makes this stay truly special. The lake is actually a privately owned former ore pit — a beautiful piece of the area’s mining history that is now surrounded by woods and wildlife. Only two other private homes sit along the water, both set well away from the house, creating an incredibly peaceful and secluded atmosphere.

Start slow mornings overlooking the water. Swim directly from your private dock, head out on one of the paddle boards or canoe, cast a line, or simply settle in and watch the wildlife. For an entirely different perspective, step onto the home’s living grass roof and take in the surrounding landscape.

Inside, clean Scandinavian lines, natural materials, soaring spaces, and expansive windows keep the focus on the outdoors. The chef’s kitchen is a standout, with high-end appliances and a beautiful La Cornue range designed for memorable meals together.

Other things to note
This is a rural waterfront property surrounded by woods, water, and native wildlife. Seeing deer, wild turkeys, bears, birds, insects, and other animals is part of the experience of staying in the countryside. While the home is professionally maintained and regularly serviced, occasional encounters with insects, spiders, mice, or other country critters can happen, particularly during seasonal changes.

The lake is a former ore pit and can be deep. There is no lifeguard on duty, so children should always be closely supervised around the water and dock. Swimming, paddling, fishing, and use of the provided watercraft are at guests’ discretion and are weather dependent.

The living grass roof is accessible to guests; as with any outdoor surface, please use caution during wet, icy, or otherwise slippery conditions.

This is a pet-free property.
