The neighborhood of Cape Porpoise is a small enclave approximately 2 miles down the coast from Dock Square, the center of Kennebunkport. Cape Porpoise is a charming neighborhood with great restaurants, shops, and a laid back vibe. There is a grocery store ,Bradbury's Market, with grocery essentials in the center of the village as well as a gourmet food store, Cape Porpoise Kitchen, which is great for prepared meals, breakfast sandwiches, good coffee and sweets. Cape Porpoise harbor has a pier which is great for fishing and sightseeing. There is a spot to launch kayaks and stand up paddle boards to explore the islands in a harbor protected from the open ocean, and a boat launch where you can launch trailered boats. There are also some great restaurants at the harbor and in town. The pier is a little less than 1 mile from our house, a great place to walk to for a gentle stroll. We are located about half way between Kennebunk Beach and Goose Rocks Beach, both easily biked to from the house. Our house is set back from the main road about 900 feet in a very private serene setting while still being within walking distance of everything Cape Porpoise has to offer. Our lot is also abutting the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust with direct access to the network of trails. This is a great place for hiking and mountain biking directly from our property.
Dock Square and the Lower Village Kennebunk are very close and offer many great restaurants, bars, and tons of great shopping. You can hire a fishing charter or go sailing or boating on any one of the charter boats in the Harbor. The local beaches, Kennebunk Beach (Gooch's) and Gosse Rocks are some of the nicest beaches in the state. Both of which are easily accessible from our house.
A little further (30 min) away you will find Old Orchard Beach with amusements, Pier, shops and more. Portland and Portsmouth are each about 35-40 minutes away which are medium sized cities offering tons of culture and activities.
