This a beautiful home in a fantastic location only a block from downtown and a short drive to Stsrved Rock. The house is beautiful with tons of character and modern features. The bedroom layout was perfect for our very inviting and the back deck and firepits were very inviting to enjoy even cool weather. We would definitely stay here again!
Great location and accommodations. We loved being able to walk into "town" within minutes to get dinner and Starved Rock was easy distance to hike and take the Trolley.Nice big table for gaming!
Property was great. Old home with lots of charm and impeccably maintained. Owner was easy to work with and responsive, and allowed for an early check in, which was greatly appreciated. Would definitely recommend.
We came to visit the state parks and had a great stay. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, and the house was charming, we especially adored the pocket doors. Everything met our expectations and the host was very responsive with communications.
Property is spacious, clean, and in great proximity to everything we wanted to do. Host was easy to work with and communicated well. We would definitely stay here again!
We wanted to find a place to get away out of the city for a reunion with my college housemates. It was a wonderful place, and I would love to come back!
The place is amazing! Beautiful old home. Very well maintained. Modernized with AC and plenty of outlets. I can't say enough about how great this place is. Perfect bedroom and bathroom layouts. Roku TVs in all bedrooms! We almost never find that!! The owner was very responsive to any question we had. You can tell they have pride of ownership in this place. We didn't get to use the fire pit in the back, but we will next trip. It was an awesome experience.
My girlfriend and I plus a few friends decided to visit Starved Rock for my birthday this year. I found this place that suited our needs.
Super spacious, very cute with local bar/restaurants right around the corner. We were very impressed. The host was amazing in responding right away with any questions we had before/during our stay.
This is an old home with charm and character. The bathrooms are small but great water pressure and lots of hot water for a group. Loved the back deck and fire pit gathering spaces. But if you plan to cook meals, there are limited small kitchen pots and pans. We enjoyed our stay!
We wanted to hike at Starved Rock but did not want to stay in the park. We were a 3 minute drive from the park. The property was super clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. We especially enjoyed the beautifully landscaped backyard, deck and fire pit. We also had fun taking the short walk to downtown shops/restaurants.
This was the perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway with the girls! There were 4 of us, and this house had just the right amount of space (and 3 bathrooms helped!!) Close to locals bars, restaurants and shops. There was even a canal market. Everything's within walking distance. The outdoor courtyard was shared space, but other than other guests walking through, we pretty much had the space to ourselves
Met at your property with another couple and their 20 something daughter as we were attending a birthday party in the area. In the evenings, we took advantage of the spacious back deck. The location of your home really worked well for us as we walked to restaurants, bars, ice cream, shopping. So much fun!
A kind recommendations would be to have curtain panels in the front bedroom to block the sun from coming through the wood blinds in the morning. My group had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed your home. Thank you. Cindy Garten
Very nice place. Close to everything we needed. Very responsive and great recommendations. House was perfect for 3 friends to have our own bedrooms and bathrooms
We loved the property the location was amazing and the house was charming. It was roomy and comfortable for our large family group. Parking can be a bit challenging with it being so close to downtown. We had two small issues: the smoke detector batteries were low and it chirped in our room while trying to sleep Friday night - we purchased new batteries and replaced the old ones and all was well. On Friday, when we arrived there was a foul order in the kitchen, it was coming from the drain so we ran hot soapy water for about 10 minutes and it was gone.
