Custom built with granite countertops, hardwood floors and leather furnishings, Highlander cottage, open year around, offers it's guests an arts and crafts style with a little post and beam thrown in. The inspiration for the one floor plus loft 1800 square foot layout was the panoramic view of Lake Superior...none other like it ! I designed the floor plan with an open living room/ kitchen concept incorporating a small cozy reading loft when you want to get away. The bedrooms are designed with privacy in mind. They are at opposite ends of the cottage and each has it's own bathroom with ample ceramic tile showers. For those bath aficionados the master has "ye ole" clawfoot tub.

The living room has a large gas fireplace to keep you warm and cozy while you look through all the windows to the lake. Off the living room is a large covered porch so rain or shine you can be outside enjoying the view while lounging on the patio furniture from Lazy Boy! The second side deck off the kitchen is convenient for grilling on the BBQ . This deck offers a great setting to dine with plenty of seating for a nice group gathering.

The kitchen is fully equipped for those of us who love to cook....and bake! If there is something missing I will make sure you have it! This is a working kitchen designed to minimize steps and enjoy the wonderful view while you are preparing.

The cottage is located in a very private setting. It is a large property offering a camp fire area up by the cottage and a nature trail down to the ledge rock edge of Lake Superior where you can sit and ponder life. With the Mink Mountains literally out your back door one can take the many hiking trails from easy to challenging. One of my favorites is the short walk to Picnic Point where a picnic lunch is a must! During the winter months these trails are wonderful for snow shoes. For those who like breaking trail... X country skiing is the best. Whether it be through the woods or on the lake when frozen over....a challenge is always waiting! Highlander Cottage is a silent sports persons dream destination any time of the year. Whether you are a reader, photographer, artist, writer, silent sports enthusiast, or a tourist that likes to be off the beaten path this is for you. Oh by the way the cottage DOES have WIFI so you will always be ...connected.
