0804 Ivory Wave Getaway Retreat

Situated on the east end of the island, our beachfront condominium is near the intersection of the seawall and the main entrance to the island. Enjoy easy access to the Seawall and historical district’s parks, shopping, museums, trendy cafes, and cultural hotspots, making your stay as comfortable and customizable as you desire. There are no meters or other hassles of street parking here as parking is in a designated lot on the north side of the building, with other overflow parking available if needed. The open-concept living room is flooded with natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. With the relaxing view of the beach, it's the perfect space to unwind! Leave your cares, pool towels, and other amenities behind. Our kitchen comes fully stocked with dishes and appliances. Each bedroom has its own bathroom for added privacy. A generous amount of pool towels are provided and can be exchanged at the front desk as often as needed to enjoy the on-site heated pool and hot tub. This unit specifically is equipped with a stackable washer and dryer, so no need to take a trip to the laundromat. Other onsite amenities for your enjoyment include tennis and pickle ball courts, shuffleboard, horseshoes, picnic grills, and hammocks. Our management team is committed to ensuring your living experience is smooth, enjoyable, and sure to produce fond memories. The instructional notes around the condo are very helpful. The decor and open floor plan utilizes the views of the beach. I always look forward to that Galvestonian pool. Arrival day pool was sparkling, 3 days later it was a sloppy mess that I had no desire to enter. Especially with the young summer time visitors, please consider daily pool maintenance. This was my only disappointment.

It is unusual and not for families that need maximum privacy, but we loved the open concept. Unfortunately, both beds were extremely soft (we tried both before deciding to check out early) and we left the next morning with sore backs and great disappointment.

The decor,lighting,and bathrooms added to the elegance. The beds were so comfortable. The rooms were soundproof and were very quiet. We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the views. I use a walker, and the ramp from the condo to the beach was like walking on a paved highway and was very easy to navigate. We enjoyed walking on the beach, walking on the Strand, Seawolf Park, Murdock’s, East Beach, eating at Nick’s, and cooking, drinking champagne, and relaxing at the condo. We just wished we could have stayed longer. My two daughters, granddaughter, and I were celebrating my 80th birthday! I would highly recommend this condo!

And, for years, I have been hauling down things like olive oil & sweeteners so that I can cook – – or even just enjoy coffee the way I like it. The owner of this unit has thought of all of those things already! There are even single use packets of sunscreen, something I also perpetually forget. The unit itself is just gorgeous and updated in a way that could serve as a template for many other owners. Altering the orientation of the kitchen and creating a comfortable place where many people can gather, and yet still see the beautiful views was a stroke of brilliance. Highly recommend!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was nice and clean. New upgraded look to unit was nice. Location was a plus out of the busy areas of town. Kitchen Faucet very frustrating and did not work properly the whole time even following instructions for use. Privacy in the front bathroom is non-existent so everyone can hear you only a partition from sight. Bathroom needs to be enclosed. Cabinet hinges where coming off and the trash can cabinet screws fell out. No lighter for using the provided grills downstairs and front desk has nothing, Was not told that both washer and dryer were not working until we got there and saw a sticky note on them so none of us could wash our clothes or dry wet towels. Ice machine is unavailable unless you ask the front desk and it is across the property inside a locked room they have to unlock so not convienient. If you bring a cart for getting your stuff to the beach they will let you out but you cannot get back in so we had to lug everything up the stairs one by one. You have to wear a wristband at all times and you cannot sleep in these things well at all.

Nice July 4th

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Complaint - I called the day before for early check-in. I was told no one was in the unit the night before we arrived so I assumed it was clean. I was told to call the next morning to verify early check. That morning, they told me a 2 hour early check in was $50 extra which is ridiculous, but OK. We arrived at 2 and the room was not ready. Hard to understand, the manager told us they needed to check the room, make sure the AC is on, etc...The room was not ready until close to 4 PM. Not a big disappointment but it just seemed they were either short staffed or low on customer service. You would think 2 phone calls prior to arrival would have made early check-in possible. The unit was quite nice, well maintained although the there was no ice in the ice maker, and it didn't seem to work so we had to get ice from downstairs. Using curtains for the bathroom entry in the MBR was strange. Other than that, the property is well maintained, the lobby coffee in the morning is a bonus. The pool and grilling area are well maintained.

Fantastic Beach Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in the same room a few times, but it was booked. We had our eye on 804 as another choice. So glad we ended up in this room. It is now going to be our go-to rental for Galveston. Kitchen was beyond what you would expect in a rental. The decor and design were top notch. Not your usual beach decor. Temps were in the low 80's & the Galvestonian was really quiet. Ocean a lovely blue!
