Only minutes to the east is Lake Roosevelt known for great walleye fishing and miles of nondocked waterfront. The Log home is fully furnished and all you need to bring is your food and drink. There are 3 queen bedrooms and a hida bed in the basement. The main floor bath has a shower and washer and dryer. The loft bedroom has a half bath. There is a main floor fireplace and a basement wood stove. The deck overlooking the lake has a barbeque. The Lake is 10 acres and is stocked with Rainbow and Eastern Brook. Amazing property, we keep coming back! Heidi is awesome to communicate with and super accommodating. The updated dock is a huge bonus! It was the perfect way to spend our last week of summer break.

Peaceful!
Quiet and beautiful setting. Cabin has all of the basics. We could sit on the deck for hours. I wish we had more days to stay!! Will look forward to returning:)
I don't want to give an amazing review about this amazing cabin in the woods with it's own amazing lake because I want it to stay a hidden gem in the woods... Great stay, super communication with the owner. The place was fabulous for a cabin and the amenities were abundant. Although the fish wouldn't let you pet them, my 10 year old nephew had the most memorable fishing experience of his life, tooling around his personal lake on his own boat (provided by the owner with a trolling motor!). And the 14 year old niece didn't complain about not having internet on her phone once! Perfect...

Disappointing Christmas away.
I rented this cabin for a Christmas getaway with my family. Having recently lost my son, we did not want to be at home with all of the reminders at Christmas. We found this cabin to be less than satisfactory. Having arrived with no heat in the cabin (it is heated mainly by wood stove and a fireplace) we were freezing until the next morning. There were also so many light bulbs burned out that it was hard to see (Only 1 bulb worked in the basement family room and none in the light above the stairs. Also, the table only seated 5 while the cabin is advertised for up to 12 people. This cabin comfortably sleeps and seats up to 8 people in my opinion. The owner volunteered a refund of one of the night's cost in consolation of the cabin not being ready for us. It is nearly 2 months later and I have not received a refund despite reaching out to the owner via email and phone several times.
Imagine total privacy, coupled with an amazing cabin/lodge, then throw in a pristine mountain lake all to yourself. You can stop imagining now, and just book your stay instead.
We are VERY seasoned renters of secluded cabins, lodges, beach houses, restored schoolhouses, house boats, etc. We’ve stayed at some spectacular places over the last 30 years. This was in the top three. It might even take the gold.
Bring yellowjacket traps and sprays with you is the only recommendation for renters. There were defunct traps and many empty yellowjacket spray cans when we arrived. That speaks to the abundance of these troublesome pests in the area. Other than that, perfection. We never saw ONE MOSQUITO in a week, which was unexpected and amazing.
Our only suggestion to the owners is to screen in the deck, or at least a portion of it.
Thank you, Heidi. We had a magical time. We’ll be back next year for sure!
I’ve already written review; this was just an additional 2 nights attached to stay.
What I would like to add that I omitted previously: love the place, however, would highly recommend a good shampoo of lower floor carpet. Seems carpet stains were the same as last summer, maybe worse. Also, “Damp Rid” to eliminate moisture and musty odor in lower floor .
Otherwise, Little Moose is still a wonderful getaway!
This property is totally a calming, stress reducing place. Apparently, logging was being done on state land so we did hear logging trucks , but that did not really bother us. Amazingly serene location; as my sister said
“all we had to think about was what to have for dinner “
Our second summer vacation there. Last summer booked too late so only 6 nights. Booked early this time for 2 weeks.
Location absolutely wonderful! Cabin rustic; felt like being really out in “the woods “
Hopefully will return next summer
Thank you Heidi and Ron!
We wanted to take my MIL on a special trip for her 85th birthday. She requested a cabin in the woods with a view. Oh how she enjoyed this home on the lake. We sat and watched the birds and breathed in the fresh air. We all enjoyed the cabin and the lake and are blessed with the memories.
Beautiful property, the view of the lake from the cabin porch is amazing. Lots of wildlife to see on the property. It was very remote and private. We would love to go back again
Honestly, I'm hesitant to be honest out of fear of others using this and it not being available for us again. It was perfect, peaceful, private, comfortable and adorable! The manager always responded quickly and was so kind! We will be staying here again and again
Beautiful location, beautiful property, very peaceful.
The cabin was fantastic. Just the right size for us. Very well provisioned. The fireplace was very popular with my entire family, as were the reclining chairs. The biggest hit for my grandkids were the portable docks with trolling motors.
They spent most of the day every day fishing from those very stable platforms. Excellent idea. The cabin was jus extraordinarily comfortable. and the hunting lodge design theme was perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to escape the stresses of city life without having to sleep on the ground.
However, I have to be honest and say that the dock is getting pretty overgrown, a little sketchy. Might be a good idea to rebuild it this winter to be ready for next spring.
Truly, my only real complaint is with entry to the property. It would be a good idea to do something to make the address more visible from the road, we drove past it the first time. (and maybe mark the left fork in the drive-in road with an arrown sign?) And please replace the lockbox. I had a hard time getting it to open using the release button. It was too smooth and slippery to get ahold of it to swing it open before it would relock. A little frustrating.
I want to give a special shoutout to Heidi. Who answered all of our questions with patience and civility, no matter how dumb they were.
The cabin felt and looked like a “real cabin”. The cabin in the woods is this place; for real!
Loved the real feel of being totally away from the stresses of life. No cell phone reception in the cabin; therefore no phones going off. Nobody, especially kids with their eyes constantly on cell phone.
Truly was a retreat for all of us: kids enjoyed fishing both off the dock and floating docks. Adults enjoyed the peacefulness of this wonderfully, secluded “real” cabin feel.
Looking forward to returning next summer.
Thank you Heidi!
We had a great stay in the cabin. Communication with the host was great. She even messaged us the morning we were due to arrive to give us the chance to reschedule or cancel due to the smoke from near by forest fires. We elected to continue with our plans to stay, and are glad the we did. The location of the cabin is great and super private. The cabin itself is a work of art, and very easy to appreciate the craftsmanship that went in to building it. The lake is ideal- perfect temp for swimming, and chock full of fish. As for the fishing, it was a fish nearly every cast at almost any time of day. The fish are not large, save for a few, and saw no evidence of the trout mentioned, despite catching 100s of fish per day.
What could have been better- the upper level bedroom is an absolute cooker when it’s hot. Another window unit AC upstairs would be a big bonus. We actually gave up on that bedroom in lieu of air mattress in the basement. Another review mentions goose poop on the dock, that is real as well, and really is kind of a bummer when you want to go barefoot and swim, step with caution.
Overall, we very much enjoyed the cabin and our trip and will likely stay again.
A secluded cabin in the woods with a private lake made for a wonderfully relaxing time. The cabin was a little on the dirty side but with a little cleaning it was great and is plenty roomy. The property is amazing. The lake was absolutely gorgeous and the water felt incredible. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a wonderful time staying here! The house and property were beautiful and lake was the best view to wake up to. It was so peaceful and we had the best stay. The house is well stocked and a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking and lots of swimming! We would definitely stay here again!

Why they chose this property
The lake sits in the middle of 175 timbered acres with no other homes in view. The most common word in our guest book is 'relaxing'
