Peaceful Country Retreat just 20 minutes from Sylvania, surrounded by farms.
Bring the whole family to a roomy (2100+sq ft), pet-free home with lots of privacy and an open floor plan. Gather around the fireplace in our large family room. Curl up and watch a movie on our 50” smart TV, or relax in our reading nook. Lots of table space for family dinners or games in the family room, dining room, or kitchen. Living room seats 9+ and french doors and a pocket door make this space private when the sofa bed is pulled out.
Surrounded by fields and garden on a quiet road, it's the perfect place to unwind. Your closest neighbor is a full mile away both to the east and to the west and there are unhindered views of both sunrises and sunsets.
Fully-equipped kitchen and table seating areas in the kitchen, dining room and family room. Comfy beds sleeping 8. Blackout curtains and eye shades help you get a great night’s sleep. Two full baths. Lots of closet space. Laundry room with washer, dryer, sink, ironing board and iron. Separate desk/office space away from the rest of the house allow quiet time to work.
The house is all one level with no stairs. Parking for 6 cars in the driveway.
Everything in the house is available for use by guests with many extras. Private yard for kids to play or enjoy the wildlife. Free WiFi.
Other things to note:
You may want to bring your groceries and beverages with you. There is a full-size refrigerator in the kitchen with a freezer below. The closest convenience store is 5 miles away (10 minute drive) in Metamora, or full grocery stores in Blissfield, 6 miles; Adrian, 9 miles; or Sylvania, 12 miles.
We do not allow pets, or smoking, vaping, marijuana, or illegal drugs.

I'm originally from Chicago, but married a farmer. We farm 550 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat together. We love to meet new people and to share the peace of our lifestyle and home, helping you make lasting memories with your family as well.
Why they chose this property
Surrounded by fields and garden, you can see the horizon in every direction. The sunsets and sunrises are spectacular, and with so few lights nearby, the stars shine brightly. You can often see deer passing by in the fields, or an occasional hawk or eagle. Our closest neighbor is 1/2 miles away so there is very minimal traffic, making for a great night's sleep. Even so, we are only 10 minutes from Blissfield or Metamora, 15 from Adrian, and 20 from Sylvania, so grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping is conveniently nearby.
What makes this property unique
This property has been in our family since the 1890's. The big house next door was built in 1906 and 4 generations shared the farm work and home, loving and living together. But as the family expanded, this house was finally built. Each of the members had a deep faith in Christ and many prayers have gone on here. We hope you will feel the peace and love present even today.
