My partner and I built this space as the perfect 'unexpected' location to stay while visiting Lake County. It is a private 800 square foot, fully furnished second floor (18 steps up) apartment that feels more like a San Francisco loft than a country apartment. There are a total of seven (7) short term rentals in this vintage building which you can check out using SuiteOnMain. In this suite, wood floors and large windows facing Main Street with views of Mount Konocti define the private space. You will find original art from our travels and a fully furnished kitchen with Pottery Barn charger plates, All-Clad Cookware & Wusthof Cutlery. The Cal-King McRosky bed is made with 300 thread count cotton sheets and four comfy pillows. You walk out the door to Studebaker's Coffee & Deli, Kelseyville Brewery, Saw Shop Public House (reservation on weekends recommended), Smiling Dogs Tasting Room, Fore Family Wines Tasting Room, Chacewater Winery and Olive Mill, John's Market, A & H General Store, Oak Clothing, Pogo's Pizza and a short 2.5 miles from nationally recognized Steele Wines.

Comfortable, Quiet, Convenient

Everything was great! I was worried that we might not be able to stay cool during the hot weather, but we were perfectly comfortable. This unit has no neighbors touching the walls, and the business downstairs is closed at night, so we had tons of privacy. Very close to everything. The owner was friendly and available. This will definitely be our go-to rental for future visits. Thanks Kathy!

Beautiful stay in Kelseyville

My husband and I enjoyed a 3 night stay in this lovely loft apartment in February 2012. We highly recommend it - comfortable, yet stylish; great vibe to the space; bed and chairs and sofa felt great (how often have you stayed somewhere without a comfortable supportive place to sit or sleep? - too often for me, so this is a high compliment). We enjoyed leisurely tours of wine country from this spot. The photos and description of the apartment are accurate and the place was clean and well-appointed for cooking, which we did every night. We will definitely be back for another stay. We would recommend Studebakers on the same block for morning beverage/bagel and lunch sandwiches, and we highly recommend Steele Winery (10 minutes north).

My husband and I were looking for a quiet, pet friendly get-away where we could do some hiking and antiquing for a few days when we found this apartment online. Kelseyville was a charming little town with great views of Mt. Kontchi, and the apartment was in the heart of town, just steps from a coffee shop, restaurant, and antique shops. We had a few hiccup with housekeeping upon arrival, but the owner was quick to address our concerns. My only complaint is there were no good pictures of the bathroom online and no bathtub.

Cute and clean and in the hub of the town

First time Kelseyville so I didn't know what to expect. Certainly felt more rural than I anticipated but luckily the VRBO was in a central hub near a large convenience store and several restaurants. The place felt clean and bright. The kitchen could use a paint job to make it feel pristine. The bathroom is oddly at the end of the kitchen so kind of awkward to cook food so close to the bathroom, but what can you do? Really sweet host manager, great communication. The bedding was really clean and fresh and so were the towels. The pillows were clean underneath the pillowcases and that's a non-negotiable for me so things felt very comfortable. They allow pets, but there was no sign of dog hair anywhere. The windows open to a somewhat busier street but it quiets down at night. Across the street is a cute cafe for bagels and coffee and you're a short drive away from a few nice walks in Lakeport and along Clearlake. Enjoy!

Cute over business bungalows

Cool access to the eclectic town of Kelseyville, CA. Couple wineries, a brewery and some small proprietor restaurants all within walking distance. Then easy access to what Lake County has to offer. One possible drawback is that the rooms are older, but we saw that as character and all appliances were working especially the AC because it was over 100 degrees.

Loved it!

Beautiful apartment and great little town. Apartment was clean and Kathy was full over great ideas for us. Saw Shop bistro was a great restaurant and foe breakfast you can't beat Studebakers. We would recommend the Laujor Winery, such a nice owner and the best outdoor seating area. Close enough location to Napa without the hassle and congestion!

Great location but needs work

The place was clean but it needs work, paint and attention to details. There are a lot of small repairs that need doing. Glassware in the kitchen needed washing before use. A simple upper cabinet to keep things clean would solve that. The space was large except for the bathroom. Which was too small for two people to be in together. Furninsings were nice and comfortable but the bed frame is a hazard to shins as I sticks out quite a ways. Over all not terrible. But also not great.

Small Town Charm with a Big Heart

Kelseyville is the perfect getaway for a weekend. Even though it is a smaller town there is plenty to do in town or in the neighboring towns. The apartment was right in the middle of town and super quiet. It was clean and spacious which was really nice for just the two of us. We recommend staying if you plan to visit Kelseyville. The people were so nice and welcoming. Live music in some of the stores and restaurants. We will definitely be back!!

My husband and I really enjoyed Kelseyville and the loft apartment. The Loft was nicely decorated and comfortable the be in. The location is awesome. You can walk to most places. We really enjoyed our stay!

Why they chose this property

This 1941 commercial building on Main Street is easy to find and centrally located. We updated the entire building - this Guest Apartment at the front overlooking our little town's Main Street was our most recent project and was designed to hold overflow guests who come to visit us at our Ranch in Kelseyville. It is cozy and beautiful, the exact kind of place we would want to stay when visiting our quaint, quiet country town.

What makes this property unique

We are in the little quiet country town of Kelseyville which is centrally located on the West Side of Clear Lake. You are a 15 minute drive to over 10 Wineries with Tasting Rooms and walking distance to 3 Tasting Rooms (Chacewater, Fore Family and Smiling Dogs). You can walk out your door to find almost any service you need. Clear Lake is 5 miles to the East around the Mountain for water and boating activities. Clear Lake State Park and its hiking trails is 3 miles away and Lake County's NEWEST outdoor trail the WRIGHT PEAK SUMMIT TRAIL with its breathtaking climb 1,649 ft up to the top of Mt Konocti is 2 miles from your front door.
