The host was very responsive to our concerns about the roads as we arrived to the property after a spring blizzard, which really made us feel as ease. The host was also great at communicating expectations, and letting us know about a hot tub maintenance worker who would be entering the house (though it would have been appreciated if this work was performed without him accessing the main living spaces). We appreciated the quiet and remote location, and the upgraded materials in the house. The living room was a very comfortable, spacious area to relax all day, and the hot tub was easily accessed from the deck and in great condition. One consideration is the mattresses are rather hard, so if you use a pillow top or foam mattress at home it will be very different! There were a few house maintenance issues that I'll be sending to the host, and held us back from giving 5 stars, but I would definitely return again!
We just wanted a quiet, country getaway for the weekend and this cottage was a perfect fit. We really enjoyed exploring the property, the hot tub, and fire pit while having the convenience, cleanliness of a home. I highly recommend. We already are planning our next visit.

Thank you so much! We are so thrilled that you enjoyed your stay and are excited to host you again!
This cottage was the perfect place for my family to spend a few days away. The house has everything you need to make it feel like a home away from home. We loved that everything was an easy drive to lots of different small towns. Plenty to enjoy at the cottage with the fire pit, hot tub, and beautiful property for fishing or just relaxing. We would make this our first pick if we stay in the area again!

Thank you so much, Betsy, for the kind words. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay!
My friend and I stayed at the Trimbelle Cottage for 3 nights and had the most fabulous stay. The cottage was clean, had everything you could need and the fishing access was stellar. I caught a good sized brown trout and a beautiful brookie right off the property. Lovely country setting with lots to do within 15-30 minutes.

Thanks so much, Rachel! We are thrilled you had such a good time and caught some great fish as a bonus! We hope you’ll come back to stay again. :)
We originally planned on staying 2 nights but loved the change of pace from city living so much we ended up extending our stay. Surrounded by a chorus of bird songs all day, lush greenery, hardly any traffic on the road in front of the house, we felt the stress melting away. We loved the layout of the living space - well appointed and thoughtfully designed. The place had all the accoutrements we could have hoped for and we made use of the gas stove top, gas grill, record player with classic albums, shower with wonderful water pressure, nice hot tub, comfy bed and furniture, coffee maker...would definitely recommend.

About the host
Hosted by Kendra Appleton
I’m from Colorado, and Luke is from Wisconsin. We are both teachers and love hiking, fly fishing, and traveling. We love hosting because we are passionate about sharing this special, magical place with others, and we’ve loved hearing all the reasons people are staying at the cottage.
Why they chose this property
Luke (my husband) grew up in this area and grew up fishing the local trout stream such as the Kinnikinnick, the Rush River, and of course the Trimbelle. His dream has been to own property on these streams, and the Trimbelle Cottage is a dream come true for him. I, too, have fallen in love with this area.
What makes this property unique
A place to relax, to connect, to adventure, the Trimbelle Cottage is a marvel both inside and out. Inside, guest will find a cozy fireplace, several games and puzzles, a record player, and a Smart TV with access to streaming services. Outside, we have seven acres along the class one trout stream, the Trimbelle River. Our property contains a public easement so that local anglers can fish and access the river too.
