Enjoy a secluded retreat with hot tub. This contemporary chalet in the Redwoods is bathed in sunlight and is a short stroll to the Mad River and only minutes from HSU and downtown Arcata's local shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and Community Forest.

This hand-crafted home has a welcoming covered front porches, custom interior wood work, hardwood and tiled floors, and large windows throughout giving one the feeling of being a part of the surrounding, sun-filled redwood forest. The Upper Chalet includes 2 bedrooms + cozy sleeping loft upstairs (entire upper chalet sleeps 6 persons max.). This self-contained beautiful rental includes 3 queen-sized bed, fully equipped kitchen, all the linens and bath towels for your comfortable stay, views & privacy. Also includes big lawn and outside area for badminton, sunbathing, and BBQing. And a HOT TUB. This south facing home is warm, rustic contemporary and welcoming for couples, a family, larger gatherings and anybody seeking solace in a private Redwood Oasis.

(Note: the Redwood Chalet-downstairs is separate rental and includes 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4). Both can be rented together for a group with maximum of 10 persons. To respect the other rentals at our retreat-like, quiet location, we don't allow gatherings larger than 10 persons in entire redwood chalet).

Re: Our Health and Safety preparedness for your arrival:
We offer guests disinfecting soap and hand sanitizer & our extensive cleaning procedures between guest stays and we follow CDCs Hospitality sanitizing recommendations . Our 47 acre Redwood forested setting provides an ideal place and way to vacation or retreat. Re Covid, by this time our guests understand the situation, have read our cancellation policy and assume all responsibility when they make reservation. We are not refunding for reasons re Covid at this time.

*3 night minimum during 3 day weekends and holiday weeks (incl. 4th of July).
HSU Graduation weekend is 4 night min & $300/nt

Also, if you have a little time to explore, our location is just a short drive to beautiful local beaches near Eureka and Trinidad, & natural paradises of Sumeg

Very nice place that's out of the way but not far from town. Stayed upstairs and love the view and plenty of windows to enjoy the surrounding redwoods. Very comfortable. Second time staying there. Also has a badminton net that my family loves to enjoy.

The Perfect Stay in the Redwoods

This place was INCREDIBLE! Tucked away and into the Redwoods with 2 bedrooms, great big bathroom, windows everywhere and a loft for my kiddos to play in! The best place to come home to after fracturing all day in the Redwoods! Oh and don’t forget the outdoor hot tub! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Graduation weekend

This is our second time renting this property, and we love it! The location is five minutes from town, but you're still in the middle of nature. Our only critique is that the beds are very firm. A mattress topper would make our next stay even better. The property is very clean and well-maintained, and our host was kind and available for any questions.

Pictures don’t fully do it justice. Road getting there is a little narrow at points just fyi but it’s pretty and surrounded by woods while also being a close drive to most attractions in the area

Great Place

This was a very nice place to stay. Clean, quiet and private. The setting makes you feel like you are far away from everything, but Arcata and Mckinleyville are both less than 10 min from the cabin. Will definitely try to get this cabin the next time we visit Humboldt.

Relaxing forest retreat.

We would absolutely stay at this property again and recommend it to our friends. It is a great location for visiting the redwoods. It is very quiet and completely surrounded by lush, beautiful trees. A few deer visited occasionally.

Excellent stay in the redwoods

Stayed in the upper level of the Redwood Retreat for 4 nights withy family as a home base while exploring the coast and the redwoods parks to the north. Great location -felt very remote but easy access to town. Loved the hot tub in the woods. Overall comfortable stay with adequately stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and a large dining/game playing table.

Great location!

We stayed for a few days and spent time throughout the Redwoods. It was the perfect location to see the Avenue of the Giants and the next day travel to Crescent City. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was a great extra too. We had a wonderful trip and highly recommend staying here!
