Edward,
Glad you had a great experience. We did communicate several times leading up to and after your stay, in which I mentioned I was to be out of the country without communication capability. As I wrote to you before your stay, there were several contacts available to you should you have needed anything. Oftentimes we leave our guests to have privacy during their stay, and only answer questions as needed. I urge guests to reach out if they wish to communicate or need anything at all!
Best,
Darcee
We LOVED our stay here. It was our first time to Colorado and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Darcee and her family were so kind and accommodating. We cannot wait to come back!
Very cozy and quaint - loved the retro feel of the house. It was the perfect location for us to attend a concert at red rocks. We also enjoyed the local history - plume coffee and bread bar. We hope to return someday!
Nice quiet charming rustic miner's cabins with all the amenities. Very clean and close to all the Summit county resorts, without having to navigate the Summit county congestion while resting. Highly recommended!
The cottage was great and exactly what we expected. The location is perfect, right down the street from Georgetown and not far from Loveland and Keystone. Overall we could not have had a better experience.
This was our 2nd stay at this lovely cabin. We came back to celebrate our 3 ye anniversary to climb Mt Blue Sky and Mt Bierstadt. It was a super successful trip and we love staying at this cabin because it is a quaint little town nearby everything we need. We will be back again when we plan another trip to this area of Colorado.
The cottage worked out well for our purpose this weekend. Clean, convenient to local restaurants in Georgetown, and our host was very responsive. Only thing I would improve was the seating on the porch, needed something a little more relaxing that I could have napped in.. overall a great place
This place was everything we wanted and more. It is easy to get to and the little town was quaint and friendly. While there were no restaurants in Silver Plume, Georgetown is 2 miles away and had lots of great options. We really enjoyed our stay here and we will be back to hike another fourteener next year!
The unit was small but nice and had what we needed. It is an interesting place with lots on antiques. Great location right off I-70.
The only complaint is that the living room could of had more lights since it was a little dark.
We have a family tradition of skiing the day after christmas. We love coming to the mountains. I loved your home. Thank you for having everything available.
The cottage and the town were perfect. It was a great spot to explore Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Frisco and Breckinridge. Loved the quaintness of Silver Plume and the beautiful cottage to come back to after exploring. The cottage had everything! The beds were comfortable and the decorating was amazing. I could live there. We couldn’t have rent a more wonderful place and location to pick. Many thanks Darcie for sharing this slice of heaven. Vicki
Silver Plume is only 5 minutes from Georgetown, half hour from Frisco/Silverthorne. We went to hike, and there are trails in every direction. The town is very small and very quiet (although you can hear the highway). Dirt roads. This house provided us with a comfortable base of operations. It is old, so do not expect all the top of the line amenities, but it was what we required - a clean, comfortable place to rest between activities.
We spent the week the week of Christmas at Darcee and Eben's cottage to ski up the road at Loveland. It was fantastic. The cottage has a coziness factor of well over 9000. It was particularly cold during our stay (-5 - 10F), and the cottage stayed toasty warm. It's situated in Silver Plume and not subject to the hustle/bustle you get when you stay at resort. Some nights we ate in and others we ventured down I-70 East 1 mile to the Georgetown exit and ate a Copper's on the Creek. We can't wait to stay here again.

Family Vacation
It was a beautiful location but the house was very old and creaked alot. The neighbors just kept walking by staring at us we waved no response. I went to the park at about 9pm with my children and a huge white pitbull tried to attack us!!! It was okay but we won't be going back.

Valerie,
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay in our home and neighborhood. We try to be very clear in the listing that it is a very old home - built in the late 1800s in fact - and certainly has some creakiness. We consider it quaint and charming, and in no way claim for it to be luxurious. Our neighbors are all wonderful people and often enjoy chatting with guests of our cottage. I would imagine they didn't see a wave from you because if they had they certainly would have waved back and probably talked your ear off. Perhaps the "staring" was mistaken for them simply checking on things, as we very much appreciate that they help us keep an eye on the property. Wilbur is the white dog you mentioned. I can understand he can be intimidating, and probably curious about people out and about at the park at 9pm, but he is a very friendly dog and has been roaming the neighborhood for nearly ten years now without any issue whatsoever. I wish you the best on future stays in vacation rentals.
Sincerely,
Darcee

We selected the cabin because it was midway between our travel destinations of Breckenridge and Red Rocks Park. The cottage was very comfortable and reflected the charm of the town. The Georgetown Loop railroad was within walking distance. It was wonderful to relax on the patio to enjoy the nicely landscaped backyard and nearby mountain views, and to see the night sky with vivid stars. The cottage had the neatest touches and antiques. It was also well stocked with all that we needed, providing the comforts of home. We received great communication in advance with directions and all the details regarding our stay. We had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Eben and I both grew up in Iowa and now spend our summers with family in the Midwest. Winters bring us to Silver Plume for our love of the mountains and skiing. Eben is a professional skier, and I am a yoga instructor, and together we coach the Loveland All-Mountain Freeride Team. We have two amazing sons and a third babe due to arrive Fall of 2018!
Why they chose this property
About eight years ago we decided to follow our hearts and move to the mountains that we love so much. Silver Plume, with it's laid back charm and easy access to all, is a wonderful home base. When the run-down cabin next door to our house came up for sale our parent's helped us restore it into a vacation home and rental. Gail and Joe - Eben's parents - are home builders, antique-rs and interior decorating masters. Together we gutted, insulated, roofed, straightened, cleaned, added, floored, painted and decorated the cabin and now we want to share it with others who love the mountains too!
What makes this property unique
The mountains have so much to offer. The beauty, wildlife, wildness, skiing, back country touring, hiking, snowshoeing and biking are a few of our favorites. We've had the pleasure of seeing many Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats, a few brown bear, a couple moose and even one Lynx in our back yard, plus the area is known for the hummingbird migration. The hiking is fantastic, as are the views, and the cottage abuts National Forest. Georgetown is less than a five minute drive, Summit County is just twenty minutes, and Denver is only an hour away, each offering great restaurants and shopping. World class skiing is a ten minute drive and you will receive a free pass to Loveland Ski Area to use during your stay at Sunrise Peak Guest Cottage.
