About this property
Spectacular Views, Miles of Beaches, and Boat Trips, 4 Star Luxury Home
Close to the Wild Atlantic Way route, Dunroman house was purpose built as a luxury four star Irish Tourist Board approved guest-house. It has operated as a guest-house until 2011 and due to change of circumstances is now available for vacation rental. It is located next door to the owner’s private accommodation. There are four spacious bedrooms, all with en-suite recently refurbished private bathrooms. The three largest rooms each have a double queen size bed and a single bed, and the fourth room has one double queen size bed. A childrens cot / crib is available as is an adjustable high chair. All the bedrooms are tastefully decorated with clean white paintwork and beautiful knotted French pine wooden floors. All the rooms in the house comply with the Irish Tourist Board four star guesthouse standards. Linen and towels are supplied, as are all utilities, and some basic foodstuff such as tea and coffee etc. The house is located in a quite country setting, beside the N86, 3 miles / 5 Km from the town of Dingle, 27 miles 45 Km from Tralee and 40 miles / 66 Km from Killarney. There are some spectacular mountain scenes from the bedroom windows and the sea and many beautiful beaches are only minutes away.
Dingle peninsula stretches out into the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by the warm waters of the Gulf stream. This results in a very temperate mild climate where exotic plants are common and many rare fish are found around this part of the coast. The peninsula has some of the most scenic walking tracks in the country, the “Dingle Way” probably being the best known among walkers. The Dingle peninsula has numerous prehistoric archaeological sites of great historical interest and a guided archaeological tour can be easily arranged. Experience unique gems such as the 9th century Gallurus Oratory, and the early christian beehive huts. In more modern times, Dingle peninsula is famous for being the location of “Ryan’s Daughter” the David Lean- Bob Mitchum- Sarah Miles film made in 1969 and “Far and Away” the 1992 film starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. The Dingle peninsula has been voted “the most beautiful place on Earth” by the National Geographic. It has also been voted one of the top 100 destinations in the world and has been recently recommended by CNN as a very favourable winter destination. The peninsula offers some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery, rugged and raw, wild and untamed. Parts of the peninsula are still Gaelic speaking, and all of the peninsula is extremely welcoming to visitors. Various boat tours can be arranged in advance for our guests, such as a guided one hour harbour tour, a guided marine eco tour to the Blasket islands, a trip to land on the Great Blasket island for two and a half hours. Weather permitting, of course, for all trips. For more details check out our website at Dingle Boat Tours.
Deep sea angling trips can also be arranged and all gear is provided on the boats. Some of our guests like to catch their own fish and then cook it back in Dunroman for dinner - you can’t get fresher than that! For the committed angler, there are numerous shore angling spots that are good for bass, pollock, mackerel, wrasse etc. If your preference is lobster, crab or crayfish, the owners can arrange to buy it fresh from the boats for you to cook for that special meal.
Dingle town is 3 miles / 5 Kilometres from Dunroman. It is a small town with a native population of 1,600 which swells to 5,000-6,000 during the summer. Dingle is renowned for punching above its weight in many respects, and is known all over the world as one of the primary holiday destinations in Ireland. At one time the town boasted 52 pubs, but this has reduced somewhat over the recent years. There are still some old world traditional pubs that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years- hardware on one side of the saloon, bar counter on the other side. Many of Dingle’s pubs have free entertainment most nights, usually traditional music and song. Dingle is probably one of the top gourmet destinations in Ireland, and was awarded 'foodie town of Ireland' in 2014, with its many award winning restaurants. Many of the bigger bars also do really good value meals, lunches and dinners. The Dingle Food and Wine Festival held over the first weekend of October is always a very well attended and popular event. Dingle, or “ Daingean Uí Chúis” in Gaelic, was established 700 years ago as a Norman walled town. Some of the old town wall is still visible. It was once a major commercial port doing trade with Spain and Portugal back in the 18th. and 19th centuries, and since then an important fishing port, but over recent decades, Dingle has become the primary tourist destination of South West Ireland, since the early 70's when the MGM movie 'Ryans Daughter' was shot here.
Dingle aquarium is probably the best of its kind in Ireland. The vast array of local sealife is featured, as well as an amozonian section. There is a shark tank, an underwater glass viewing tunnel, and the most recent addition is a penguin enclosure. There is also a well stocked souvenir shop and a coffee shop.
There are numerous activities for young and old available, both indoor and outdoor. For those who just want to relax and wind down, there are beautiful walks through the surrounding country lanes, where the only traffic you are likely to meet is a farmer going about his work, who most likely will stop and talk to you for a while. You can have all your holiday activities pre-arranged for you by the owners, or you can 'play it by ear' as they say here. The choice is yours, but whatever your plans, Tom and Noeline will do their best to ensure that you go back home relaxed and happy with your stay.

Property was spotless. We had 7 adults and 5 children and it comfortably accommodated us all. Host was very welcoming and everything about our trip was perfect.
Hosts wonderful and accommodating, sweet thoughtful touches like fresh flowers, orange juice, eggs and bacon and a bottle of wine left to welcome us. Property is spacious and lovely
This house was perfect for our stay in Dingle. The owners had a nice welcome gift when we arrived and the house was spotless. The views were beautiful! I loved waking up to the sheep in the backyard. We would 100% stay here again!
This property was beautiful. We love that the bedrooms each had their own bathroom. We also appreciate all the dining room seating and living room seating. We had a lovely stay near Dingle and enjoyed going to Inch Beach and Connor Pass during our stay. Thank you hosts!
This house has everything you could ask for. The hosts are very responsive and helpful. We had plenty of space to spread out; the kitchen is fully stocked and the beds are comfortable. Convenient location; host assisted us with recommendation for taxi service at night. We loved our stay here and highly recommend this place.
We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were helpful and responsive. The house is spacious and perfect for a group. The rooks were clean and exactly as pictured. We really enjoyed our stay.
It was a wonderful experience staying at this dingle house. The host was so sweet , she had made us brown bread and refrigerator filled with stables. The house was large, clean and suited my family well. I would highly recommend to stay at this lovely home.
Grand accommodations for our party of seven! Noeline welcomed us and gave us the lay of the land, which was very helpful. It’s a short ride into town and taxis were accessible. Shea Head drive was spectacular! Book ahead for Blasket Island tours.
Such wonderful hosts! The place was a favorite of our group, which was 3 generations from the USA road tripping around the country! Great spaces for everyone, and host provided delicious eggs, bacon, milk, and oj - and a bottle of wine! We felt so welcomed!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dunroman! Tom and Noeline are very welcoming and gracious hosts! The house is very spacious and well able to accommodate a large group with 4 generously sized bedrooms. Everything was easy and clear - both communicating ahead of time and arriving. The house is a quick 5-8min drive from Dingle. Stunning area!
The house and host were as advertised. Would recommend and really appreciate the extra amenities IE. Bread butter eggs etc… Great location to visit surrounding areas!
If you want to be near Dingle and you have 4 or more people in your group, then you should stay here. Best place ever! Super nice host! Super clean place. Large and comfortable. If you can get this place, then you will be super happy you did. It was the best place we stayed on our entire trip to Ireland!
This was a spacious home. We loved being close to both Dingle and Inch Beach. Noeline and Tom were wonderful communicators. We were greeted with fresh fruit and homemade bread.
We vacationed here with 6 others. The house is lovely and well equipped.Very clean with fresh flowers thruout. The owner greeted us and gave great information regarding the house and area. She left baked bread and wine. A terrific stay!
Tom was very easy to communicate with and always answered my questions within a couple hours and never more than 24 hour period. The photo's were very representative of the actual home. Lot's of room to spread out but still close enough to all get together when necessary. Would definitely stay here again!
We loved our stay! Noeline greeted us and told us all the places to go. She was so welcoming and pleasant. She generously left us breakfast food which was so helpful also. The house was in a good location- just a few miles from town-easy to go back and forth. We were only five and stayed just two nights but there would be plenty of room for many more. No complaints-highly recommend!

Hi Ellen and Family,
Thank you for your kind review. We would love to have you all back here again real soon.
Best Regards,
Tom & Noeline.
There were ten of us ranging from 1 to 70, and this house was perfect. Noeline was lovely in meeting us when we arrived and had the kitchen well-stocked with essentials for our first morning there (milk, eggs, oj, bacon, bread). There was a pack and play and a high chair for the baby, and plenty of space for all of us to spread out. We all really enjoyed the cows out back and the close location to town. We will absolutely be back!
If you have a big group and are looking for a place to stay in Dingle, this house is a perfect choice. Very quick, easy drive into town. Noelene was very sweet and helpful!
We had a lovely stay. It was very convenient that the four bedrooms were split into sets of two separated by doors so that each family had their own side. Everything was in wonderful condition and it was clean and a lovely place to stay.
Property was super clean and comfortable. Noeline was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful. She had great suggestions for things to do in Dingle. Perfect location!

About the host
Hosted by Tom Hand
Tom is a marine electronics engineer by profession, and during the summer months he skippers one of the familys' tour boats. Noeline is a nurse in the local hospital. Both have 19 years experience in looking after guests and take great pride in doing it well.
Why they chose this property
Both Tom and Noeline have lived here since 1986, and would never move. The natural beauty of the Dingle Peninsula is unsurpassed anywhere else, but what makes this place so special is the unique character of the people who live here. The area has an undescribable magnetism, which is evident by the many tourists that come here and never leave.
What makes this property unique
Dunroman is a modern, clean, comfortable, cosy house, in a country setting, but only minutes from the sea, beaches, mountains, walks, towns. The unique benefit you will enjoy while a guest at Dunroman is the offer of a complimentary one hour guided trip on a tour boat in Dingle harbour and the inner bay area. Please note that all trips are weather permitting, but as you may know, we sometimes get all four seasons in one day here in Ireland, so if today is not suitable, tomorrow might be.
