Welcome to Bandera Stronghold - Red Cloud Cabin

The Bandera Stronghold is located 5 miles from downtown Bandera on beautiful, spring fed Mason Creek. Wildlife abounds on this heavily wooded 8.5 acres. The Red Cloud Cabin (property i.d. #3926136) is adjacent to the host’s home. It features a full kitchen stocked w/ most needed utensils, condiments & coffee (since hosts are on site, they're happy to share anything you might need or have forgotten). The private back deck has a hot tub and overlooks the swimming hole on the creek. Red Cloud cabin offers a double bed, cozy dining for two in the kitchen, full bath with tub and shower combo, TV monitor with DVD, central air and heat, charcoal grill, picnic table and outdoor fire pit. Your well behaved dog is welcome for an additional fee. All bed and bath linens are supplied. A roll away bed is available for a 3rd guest for an additional fee. Enjoy a day of catch and release fishing, bird and deer watching and a dip in the creek followed by an evening of stargazing as you soak in the hot tub. No telephone or WiFi, but decent AT&T cell service most of the time. Gravel base is suitable for motorcycles. Administrative fee covers the county taxes not collected by Home Away.

This was absolutely the most peaceful place. Lots of wildlife. Lost maples state park is close. Great sight seeing location. There is a store about 3 mins away. I can’t wait to come back. I love it here.

We had an awesome time at this cabin. Right next to a beautiful creek. We had a great time walking up and down with the dogs. They were able to run around & roam off leash. Very cozy cabin with amazing hot tub.

Get away for anniversary. Absolutley lobed thw crewk view thw hot tub amd the deer. It was a nice realxong weekend. No wifi no cable just the way we wanted it.

We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet despite having a guest in the cabin next to us. The lake was refreshing. Our french bull dog loved runnibg around and wanted to be outside every second. Theres a dollar general 6 min away. Bith trisha and jon were a delight with a wealth of life experience to share. Amazing scenery and lovely little cabin in the woods.

This cabin is a great place to get away from the noise and weekly grind of life. We enjoyed our stay. The owners are awesome and very friendly. We would recommend highly.

Overall, we did enjoy our stay in this cute little cabin. It was nice & clean inside and the kitchen was stocked very well. The outside grounds were disappointing. The area around the cabin was very overgrown. We had to move the picnic table to an area where the weeds were not so bad. We went fishing quite a bit but it was difficult to walk down to the water. If they would spend some money fixing up the grounds including steps or a handrail leading down to the creekside, they would see a lot more revenue from this property. So peaceful to just sit on the front porch and watch the deer in the morning. All you hear are the birds singing and an occasional peacock in the distance. No traffic noise whatsoever. Lots of peace & quiet! Just needs some TLC outside!

This place was way cool, it was one of the coziest places we have stayed at yet.

This was a great home away from home with all the extra's. Deer everywhere, such a beautiful sight as well as the fish you could literally see through the water and to top it off the hot tub in the evening was super relaxing. We will definitely be back. Oh almost forgot, the owners were super friendly and was there to assist if we had any issues. You will love this place ❤️

Amazing place for a lil getaway!

Had an amazing peaceful time with my husband and our little French Bulldog, Leo. Had everything u would need, the view off the patio was amazing and the hot tub was all ready and warm for us to enjoy the entire weekend! Will definitely come back as soon as possible.
