Should change name to bat cabin

Great place, but seemed to have a bat problem. Had a bat every night except last night had 3 bats and one was quite vocal, woke up from dead sleep at 3 am. Packed up and left.

For future guests’ awareness, there isn’t an ongoing bat issue at Bear Cabin. In this case, the fireplace doors were left open, which can allow wildlife in—something that’s easily preventable with proper use. Notably, no complaints were made during the stay, and Will stayed until just prior to the final day, checking out only hours early. While we understand the surprise of an unexpected visitor, the situation could have been avoided. We’ve ensured everything is secure and always encourage guests to reach out if anything comes up during their stay.

This was a nice well-appointed cozy rustic cabin. What was not mentioned was that it is on the property of a snowmobiling rental outfit and 10 feet away from their fueling station. It was not peaceful at all, the snowmobiles were fueling up constantly for hours. Not as advertised or worth the price. And not a queen sized bed.

Gets the job done

Stayed here with my family for a work trip. This place is rustic. Woke up to a dead bat in one room that crawled in from somewhere during the night. Bathroom is very small and the door to the front of the house is barely usable. However, the house is decently stocked. It is also surrounded by raspberry bushes that were full of deliciously ripe berries that made up for some of the less ideal aspects. You get a mountain experience with this place, for sure.

Thank you, Ben, for sharing your experience at Bear Cabin. It sounds like you embraced the rustic mountain vibe and enjoyed the fresh raspberries—one of the special perks of staying here! I appreciate your understanding that the cabin offers a true mountain experience, which does come with its quirks. I’m sorry to hear about the bat and the challenges with the front door; I’ll make sure to address these issues promptly to improve the stay for future guests. Your feedback is invaluable, and I'm glad you were able to enjoy the natural beauty surrounding the cabin. Wishing you and your family all the best on your future travels!
