Property was clean and in a great location! We had a one year old and the steps are very steep, so definitely not the most child proof but we loved it and would go back!

Port Lewes
We had a great time. I really like the location, pool and the little beach. We can't wait to come back next year.
We had a great visit and especially loved the private beach access just steps away from the condo. Property manager was very attentive to a minor issue when we first arrived that was quickly resolved. We hope to be back!
Great end unit spot in Port Lewes with views of the bay and pool. Quick, easy walk to the beach and pool is just steps away. Extra A/C unit in master bedroom was a nice feature as it can get warm upstairs in those houses. All bathrooms nicely updated.

Lewes Court
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Lewes Court. The state park is right next door! We enjoyed fishing off the private pier and the tennis courts were a bonus.

We Wanted This to Be Our Annual Rental
The location was excellent and one of the property's strongest features. However, there were several aspects of the home that fell short of expectations.
The primary bedroom mattress was missing a mattress pad, which made the bed less comfortable and felt somewhat unhygienic. In addition, the connection between the headboard and bed frame squeaked with even the slightest movement. Because the noise was right near my head, it repeatedly disrupted my sleep throughout the week.
The kitchen was generally well-equipped, but all of the larger frying pans were Teflon. We try to avoid cooking with nonstick cookware, so having at least one large stainless steel or cast-iron skillet would have been appreciated when preparing meals for a family. The cooking utensils, including the tongs and spatulas, were also plastic, which further limited our ability to cook without using plastic or nonstick materials. Many of the dishes were chipped and could use replacing.
There was also no outdoor grill, which surprised us. We've been renting in Port Lewes for 13 years, and this was the first property we've stayed in without one.
For the bedrooms, two double (full) beds would have been much more practical than two twin beds. My two teenage sons wanted to share the upstairs room, but one is already the size of an adult male, making the twin beds uncomfortable. While there is a queen bedroom on the first floor, they preferred to stay in the same room, and having one child in a queen bed while the other slept in a twin didn't feel like a great solution.
The bathrooms had an odd detail that became noticeable throughout the week: the toilet paper holders had been installed in the wrong orientation, making them awkward to use. It's a small fix, but one that would improve the overall experience.
Finally, the living room seating wasn't particularly comfortable for relaxing together. The sofas were fairly shallow, making it difficult for three adults to spread out and comfortably watch a movie in the evenings.
Overall, we enjoyed the location and had a wonderful vacation. None of these issues individually would have had a major impact on our stay, but together they detracted from what could otherwise have been an exceptional rental. This is especially disappointing because we've been vacationing in Port Lewes for the past 13 years and have been hoping to find our next annual rental within the community. Unfortunately, at this price point, these comfort and maintenance issues have caused us to broaden our search and consider other properties within the neighborhood instead.
It’s a nice location by cape henlopen state park. It’s on a rocky shoreline with pier access. The pool was not heated but seemed like it would be very nice during the warmer summer months. The property was a little dated. The king bed mattress was not comfortable. Sheets and towels and toilet paper not included. There are plenty of pots and pans for cooking. Overall, very nice location. Easy check in and no hassle check out. We are thankful for such a nice location close to the park!
Very nice location and has partial view of the sea which is still really nice. Very easy walk to a beach which is not crowded. Easy to bike to Henlopen state park with more beaches. Also located next to the ferry. The house itself is adequate. Main bedroom has a king size bed but the mattress could be replaced. The top floor is quite warm as the AC does not seem to reach there, but the main bedroom has a separate AC unit. The second bedroom on the top floor is with twin beds and can get very hot. We were mostly out, so it was fine. The first floor has a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom, but smaller basement like windows. No linen is provided, but can be requested with an additional sum. The house could do with some repair, but the location is fantastic. We would go to that location again.
