A sweet cabin for us and our pup

The property was very clean and comfortable. The location was quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we slept great. We highly recommend and hope to be able to stay again.

Exactly what we needed for our trip

Our family stayed at this property while in town for a basketball tournament. It was located less than a 5-minute drive from our tournament venue, and provided the perfect place for us to rest and relax between games.

Delayed response from host. When arrived the heater wasn't working well. Propane tank for the gas grill was missing. Couldn't connect to wifi the password given was incorrect. Had to start calling back and forth next morning until all this problems were solved. Terribly service!!!

Holiday Get-Away

Location was absolutely PERFECT! This cabin is rustic yet functional for our stay. There were some minor issues with faucet handle, heat maintaining a comfortable temp, the toilet flushed a bit slow and slightly backed up but we were only there for sleeping and getting ready to visit with family. We contacted the property manager to report heat issue as the temp was 60 degrees when thermostat was set to 68. We left a message and didn't receive a return call and then, after reset of the thermostat, it started heating up again. We called 2 hours later than left another message to report that we had resolved. Unfortunately, we had to repeat this process several times during our stay. This place has a ton of potential and we hope to see the owner's do some more finishing touches to this lovely place! Oh, the furnishings were adorable. It was clean but the exterior lacked some tidying - some trash and other debris was at the entrance. They did have a nice starter stock of paper towels/toilet paper/dish soap/trash bags/laundry detergent. The beds were very comfortable - and the living room was cozy for evening chats and morning coffee. We enjoyed our morning walks through this small neighborhood - great hills to climb! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would love to see where this VRBO goes as it has so much to offer with some added TLC!

Thank you Shelia for this detailed review. Unfortunately we had a death in the family and had to go out of town during your visit. We will follow up on all your recommendations; as we would love for you and your family to stay at Southland Retreat again in the future.
