The house was very clean with room enough for the 10 of us. Very convenient location to many attractions. We hated to leave. It would have been nice if sheets and towels were included, but everything else was perfect.
This was our first family vacation in over 10 years. Although the weather was not the best for the kids to be laying on the beach, it was great for R&R. There is so much to do around here for everyone. The house is perfectly situated for the beach, reading, relaxing and having pups to explore the water. It was great!!
This is a lovely historic home in a great beach-front location. It’s truly just steps to the ocean and to the pier, with great views from the decks. Katherine was very friendly and accommodating. It’s so nice for four-legged family members to be welcomed and not simply tolerated! Do plan to bring your own toilet paper, etc. This is definitely a place we would like to stay again!
Awesome awesome awesome. The property is so beautiful in a spectacular location. Kathryn is a great host. She was very accessible and very easy to talk to. Our family voted this vacation as the best of all time.
Great location and just how a beach house should be. Loads of seating and beds and dog friendly! Great location within walking distance to the pier, Awful Arthurs and short drive to groceries and Target. Owner was responsive and came and replaced an outdoor lightbulb right away and offers to set up linen and towel rentals if you don't want to set up or bring your own. The house really feels like a home and not just a rental and has two kitchens. Beautiful lamps and decorations and hand carved wood. All in all a perfect week!
The location is excellent. Beach is right behind the house. Only issue is the state has built the dune a bit high so upper deck is the best view. However, the beach is right on the other side of the dune. Locals access the beach next to the house. Shopping and food is super convenient.
Note, the house is a historic landmark so it is not modern. However it's quaint (smallish), clean and allows pets, which was a must for me. Owner is also super nice.
Great place for a family reunion. We had 12 in our party. I’m not sure we could have comfortably included more. Very homey feeling. Perfect supply of cooking pans and utensils. Beautiful location right on the beach. Being from Arizona, and used to beautiful sunsets in California, it was fun to see gorgeous sunrises instead. There’s a Keurig as well as a coffee pot in the kitchen.
We were a group of 8 adults and 4 children. A family get-together. The house was perfect for us. It is quite large, plenty of beds and areas to eat, play, or just spread out. The original house was built in 1935 and has been added on to and updated very well. The house is comfortable and well appointed, and it is clean. It has a GREAT covered porch area and additional seating overlooking the beach. The beach is large, with clean sand and it was not crowded at all when we were there. The water was fairly warm (late June) and great for swimming. A lifeguard is present nearby. We caught a variety of fish at dusk. The host is very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and strongly recommend this property.
This brought me back to my childhood. Walking back up the sandy dunes to the house, you have a foot bath to keep the sand at bay, and there are two (yes two) outside showers to choose from.
The home is spacious and eccentric. It is not your cookie-cutter house. Lots of charm, and the most gracious homeowner possible. The key to this house is the ample seating. We had 10 people in our party, and there are several places, inside, outside and even covered outside where we could all comfortable sit together.
The kitchen is a bit small, but there's another one downstairs.
This home us absolutely perfect for a family that lives the beach and appreciates a unique home.
We chose this house because it looked like the old windswept cottage by the sea and it was all of that an more. The modern conveniences were where they needed to be but the “old charm” was there in full.
Close to the grocery stores, restaurants and everything we needed it was a mixture of today and yesterday. Katherine was lovely and we would clearly do it again.
We rented the cottage for a family reunion. Everyone absolutely LOVED it! The interior was spacious and artfully decorated. The outside deck wrapped around the house, and there were many places to sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean. No one wanted to leave! I would definitely love to return for future reunions!
Had a wonderful vacation with family coming For Oklahoma,New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Katherine greeted us and we toured this lovely cottage. Great location and could walk to Pier for dinner drinks and fishing. Spent most time on the fabulous deck with ocean views and breezes as well as covered porch with charming hurricane shutters. Enjoyed the third floor bedroom with many beds and great sun deck. We all had a memorable vacation at this charming cottage. We will be back!

We were a bit concerned about the age of the property based on the photos online, but when we arrived we were very pleased. Lots of room for all members of the family, and right on the beach - no roads to cross. Too bad the weather was so hot, but the breezes on the side porch made the heat tolerable. Overall, a great week.
Picture perfect. Reminded me of staying in a personal family home.
Plenty of space for basically 3 families and 2 little dogs. The 5 grandkids aged 5-10 loved having some independence on the large porches and downstairs living room. The grown adult kids loved have some independence in the dolphin bar and upstairs living room. We the grandparents loved having a huge 3rd floor suite and our own balcony. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. Ice machine was used EVERY day. 2 full kitchens was something we didnt think we would need but most certainly used. Plenty of outdoor seating for all 11 of us at once. Both inside and out. Beach was perfect. We purposely picked a home with out a pool and am so glad we did. Entire family enjoyed the beach and we felt safe if kids wanted leave the beach for a bit to go back and forth to house for a snack or to take a break. Outdoor showers were used every day. Let me just say. We all want to go back. Kathryn was an incredible host. Very welcoming. Checked in via txt our 1st morning to make sure everything went well. We can not wait to return. A+ family vacation.
Great location and very dog friendly. First time taking our dogs on vacation and it was extremely accommodating. They loved it.
The weather during our stay was fantastic which made the location to the beach even more ideal as we could go down and enjoy the beach as much as we wanted.
Overall the cottage had everything we needed for our stay, but we spent the majority of the time using the dune deck and side porch while not on the beach.
Super relaxing! The attention to detail in this cottage was wonderful.
We Highly recommend this location.
The only low point was that animal control made us remove our dogs from the beach from 9am to 6pm.
Loved everything else!
We loved our family vacation in the Hall Cottage. Just a few steps from the beach and beautiful sunrises. Well-equipped home with lots of indoor and outdoor spaces for our family to gather. Katherine is a wonderful host.
From the start Katherine made the experience fantastic! We knew we wanted to be on the beach, take our dogs, and have family join us, Hall Cottage met all those desires. We did not know that the house was historic so enjoyed that fact the entire week. Everything about the house was perfect for what we were looking for and close to all of our daily excursions. Thank you to Katherine and we look forward to visiting again!
This property is in our top 3 vacation spots from our 25 years travelling together! Its historic nature gave it a lot of charm and character with just enough modernization to also make it comfortable. Views of sunrises from the third floor were beautiful and the soothing the sounds of the ocean through open french doors lulled us to sleep at night. We highly recommend it and plan to return!
