Really enjoyed our stay! Beyond so cute and really close to the beach and walking distance to pier and shops. Folly Beach is beautiful! I would never stay any where else- if in the Charleston area.

Great place and location

We had less than 24 hours here at the property and wish we were able to stay for a week. Great little place, very clean and good location.

We LOVED our stay in Folly! The property was amazing and perfect for two couples. There was easy access to the beach and town. The property had everything available…beach chairs, beach and bath towels, cooler…which was very helpful since we flew to SC and could only bring limited supplies. We look forward to staying here again and would not hesitate to try out one of the other Shacks!

Perfect Location

Loved our first trip to Folly and the cottage was perfect! Great location close to everything but away from noise and a 3 minute walk to the beach. The decor is lovely, the beds are comfy and we couldn’t have been happier!

Another week in our favorite place…

We had another wonderful stay with Katt! The property is far more beautiful in person and had absolutely everything we needed. So close to the beach, every amenity you could ever want/need and has the perfect little outdoor space for little ones! Katt is readily available/on site for any needs. We can’t wait to stay here again…and again!

Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful experience staying at the surfshack. This was our first time using VRBO and I can honestly say we will use it again thanks to Sam and Katherine. They have and wonderful place and were great to work with. Due to flight problems, we were 7 1/2 hours late getting there and they were always in contact with us and right there to greet us when we finally got there. The unit is clean, adorable and so inviting.

The Rathershacks

We stayed at The Rathershacks "Happy Shack" and the place was great. The place was very clean and the appliances were very nice and actually worked. There are all of the essentials just as stated. The beach amenities are great, not junk. There are so many towels for the beach and inside. The owners are the greatest and very helpful. When we go back we will most definitely check their places first.

Absolutely first-rate property on Folly! The unit was sparkling clean, finishes were high-quality and up-to-date, the unit had what we weren't able to lug along on our long flight, and communication from Sam & Katt was helpful and timely. Restaurants were an easy walk but far enough away that we couldn't hear them at night. We were just steps from the beach. My last week at Folly was in 1968...I think I'll try to return sooner this time. I'd happily stay in another of their properties again!! My only quibble is one fairly specific to me...wish there had been a tea kettle. But the microwave worked very well.

Wonderful place to stay for our wedding weekend!

My husband and I recently stayed at Surfshack for our wedding weekend, and we could not have asked for a better place to stay! Surfshack is so well decorated and beachy. We had plenty of space and enjoyed relaxing with friends in the beautiful outdoor area. The kitchen included everything we needed to prepare meals, and we loved the open floorplan. Also, Surfshack is located close enough to walk downtown but also is a bit away from the hustle and bustle. Katherine and Sam were wonderful hosts- so welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend Surfshack to a family on vacation or a few friends looking for a lovely Folly Beach getaway. Thank you so much, Katherine and Sam, for providing us with such a great place to stay during our wedding weekend! We will definitely be back!

Perfect location!

We could not be any happier with our stay!!! The property was exactly as pictured, clean and stocked with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. The walk to the beach was easy and short. Beaches are clean. You can even walk to town. The town has typical beach shops, restaurants (the lost dog breakfast 😁👍!!), ice cream and an awesome coffee shop! Access to the highways to explore the area are near by as well. It was our first trip to the area...highly recommend!!

Exactly what we were hoping for

This property was everything we were hoping for and more. It was clean, quaint, and most importantly, close to the beach and Center Street. Katherine and her husband also supply their properties with a whole sheet on recommendations in the area, which we utilized quite a bit. The house also came with some beach accessories, including chairs and an umbrella. We would definitely stay at the Rathershacks again

Was just what we needed. Peace and quite. Weather could have been better but no controlling that.

Home was just the right size for two. Think it would be a bit cramped if there was another couple. The home was well equipped. There was a little fly issue. Not sure where those fly’s were coming from might want to look into. We could not find lighting for the back yard and we grilled in the dark. Might want to change that.

Carol- Thank you for your review. With all the rain this week, our neighbor said she had a rodent die in her back yard, she thinks it may have drowned or was sick... she said there was a number of flies, but we are sincerely sorry that they bothered you. We have families if 4 that have been coming here for over 8 years and we have never heard that it wasn’t big enough for two. We do advertise our square footage so everyone knows how comfy it is. As for the out door lighting, there is a switch on the fence for outside lighting, we wish you would have asked it is listed on the go to check in list. We know the sun goes down early durning the winter. Thanks so much, Katt

Girls weekend

Booked a short stay for a girls weekend with my daughter at the Surf Shack. Short walk to town and even shorter walk to the beach! The weather and food were perfect. Some of our favorites were: crab legs at Snapper Jacks, shrimp salad at pier 101 and tacos at Taco Boy. Thanks for the hospitality!!

Awesome place to stay

We were met by the property manager and she made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some good ideas of things to do and where to eat. The SurfShack was exceptional. I would stay here again and again and again. Thanks, Joann and David Rackley

Surf Shack!!

I should start by saying that Kat and Sam are wonderful hosts!! The Surf Shack was perfect for mine and my sisters mini getaway. Very clean. Had everything we needed - Close to town, the beach, Bert’s, etc. Literally, was able to arrive Thursday and leave my car parked until we left Monday morning!! Can’t say enough good things. I will definitely be staying here again!

Week at Folly Beach

My husband and I had a wonderful experience. The home was exactly as presented and very clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a list of local restaurants a short walk away. It was a bonus to have towels and beach chairs available. We would return. Thanks for a relaxing week!
