Cedar Chalet Snowdonia; Stunning Woodland/mountain View; Pool, Family & Pets
Nestling in a quiet mountain location with breath taking views. This family cedarwood chalet has been owned by my family since it was built in 1960. Recently renovated but holding on to family charm with hints of retro 60s feel !! Fully fitted kitchen, comfortable open plan living, 2 comfortable bedrooms and quaint 60s half sized bathtub in recently refurbished bathroom. The water pressure on site is on the low side so no power shower but there is a shower tap for the bath,
We have a 3 port gaming flat screen satellite TV, USB charging sockets and comfortable soft furnishing with electric log burner. Bedrooms are comfortable with mattress, pillow, duvet protectors and waterproof covers. There are black out curtains which help keep the rooms cooler in hot weather & warmer in cold weather. One bedroom is a double and the other is a triple [bunk beds and single]. The bunk beds have been updated to ensure they are suitable for adult use
With outside seating & eating area & outside cushions, although due to mountain location not suitable for disabled access or unattended small children. Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead. Site has bar & restaurant [unfortunately this is currently closed awaiting new management] offering both eat in & takeaway. But Tywyn and other local villages offer multiple eating in and takeaway venues. The onsite laundry, table tennis room and wonderful outside pool are open. Motorbikes welcome and owners can book you guided tours of North Wales or off roading \ trail riding too. Please note I have no control over site facilities.
Situated in the picturesque and natural beauty of the Snowdonia National Park, Woodlands allows you to enjoy the peace, relaxation and tranquility of this cozy chalet. Woodlands is south facing, set amidst mature gardens and landscaping giving you the opportunity to appreciate the surrounding countryside. Surrounded by birdsong in the day and owls a night, wonderful dark sky for star gazing and badgers snuffling about and owls calling, you really are holidaying in the countryside.
Only 2miles to Tywyn with wonderful sandy beaches, shopping, outdoor sports, restaurants, steam train and honey ice cream .... Whether you are looking for activities or simply relaxation you are sure to find plenty on offer in the area. Sea and fresh water fishing, sailing, wind surfing, mountain biking, horse riding, golfing are all available in the locality. On the other hand you might just prefer to enjoy the areas abundant wildlife and historic sites or simply sit and relax overlooking the sunsets of Cardigan Bay.
If you are a keen walker Bird Rock (Craig y Deryn) offers fantastic views of the Dysynni Valley whilst a trip on the narrow-guage Tal-y-llyn Railway is a must for all, stopping at Dolgoch Falls and Nant Gwernol where you can enjoy walks through the woods and to the old slate mine.
Driving allows you to access the farthest North of Wales within the hour where you will find mount Snowdon, Anglesey as well as Portmeirion which was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976 to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. Portmeirion village and gardens is one of Wales' premier visitor attractions, welcoming over 200,000 visitors every year.
The Chalet has a range of leaflets offering visitor attractions which i update yearly. Please feel free to add any leaflets from attractions you've enjoyed.
Finally please remember this is a unique, 60s chalet. Its compact space living. Storage is tight but we've done as much as possible. Including over door hooks, handing shelves in wardrobe, baskets etc
This is'nt a faceless corporate holiday home. Its a much loved, family chalet full of love and memories. Whilst not perfect i pride myself on cleanliness and comfort.

About the host
Hosted by Pamela Kendall
Hello 👋 My Grandfather purchased the chalet so his family could 'go home'. I've enjoyed a lifetime of holidays here. Firstly my Grandmother then my mother have looked after the chalet and now its my turn to look after the chalet for future generations. The chalet hadn't changed much since the 1960s !! So between 2024 and 2025 my husband and I refurbished the chalet. But i was determined to keep hints of family holidays for us & you to enjoy. From original 70s Pyrex to dads tie hidden in a wardrobe, from a memory shelf we want you to add to and even grandads chair still remain. But we added a brand new kitchen, wooden flooring, a large cozy sofa, new bedding, USB charging sockets, electric in the bedrooms 😲 flat screen gaming satellite tv and so much more to make visitors feel comfortable and enjoy your stay !! It costs a lot to maintain a caravan \ chalet these days so i had no option but to start letting & sharing our chalet so it can pay the bills. I'm determined that the chalet is spotless clean with lots of new fixtures & fittings. We've also added some modern touches like flat screen gaming tv whilst retaining some original retro items too. I refurbished bathroom last year, changing from 2 rooms into 1. All new fixtures and fittings, anti slip flooring and a shower tap in the bath. We've kept a small bath as this is lovely for children. The water pressure is low, this is a 1960s site and low pressure is all over the site. We are looking into options. But there lots of lovely soft water. There's a dining table & chairs so you can set up an indoor dining space or eat outside too. [Dining table is in the double bedroom giving lots more room in the living room but its easy to slide out. Stools are in the wardrobe.]
Why they chose this property
I now live near Caernarfon North Wales but i firmly believe that the chalet location is the very best & most beautiful countryside Wales can offer. With the greenest fields & mountains, the widest sandy beaches and endless attractions theres so much to see & do. Whilst retaining the peace & quiet of rural wales the chalet offers relaxing onsite breaks with stunning views, delicious food & drink in the restaurant, a beer by the pool and hours of fun in the sun in the heated outdoor pool. Or a base to head out for long lazy days on the beach and day trips around mid & north Wales.
However, please note the site, club house and pool are all out of my control. The paths are uneven woodland paths, if the club houses isnt open i cant help that. All opening times and events are advertise on boards on the drive and outside clubhouse.
What makes this property unique
My Chalet offers you a holiday at affordable price. With quiet mountain seclusion, theres a bar, restaurant, games rooms, sunbathing terraces and pool. Comfortable modern interior with retro fun detailing. Family & pet friendly or just a couples retreat. Spectacular mountain, valley & distant sea views from the door. Access to mid and north Wales within an hours drive or simply stay local and enjoy beaches, steam trains, waterfalls, cute harbor villages or the hustle & bustle of Barmouth the mini Blackpool look alike of Wales with fair rides, slots and chippy lunch.
PLEASE NOTE The chalets are small 1960s chalets, I only own one, if you see another n think you'd like it there's nothing I can do. I do employ local cleaners but i don't employ staff. If your looking for a 5*, luxury, tropical venue this isn't it !! If your looking for a traditional family holiday in a clean and comfortable chalet, with stunning views then this is it !!! Please remember, this is North Wales, UK i cant help the weather !!
Finally, i do have original 1960s, melamine plates, because we've always had them, if this is deal braker again, please don't book. I hope you enjoy my moms Pyrex, my Grandfathers chair and may be add to the memory shelf too. All helping to provide a warm, friendly place to stay.
