Really good location but depending on the place you get it might be a small distance from the ocean (though you will be able to see it from the balcony). The facilities are all in place and are all pretty good- all cons are very minor, like the TV sound being low and only one washroom for a property that can house 8 (we were just 4 people so wasn't that bad)
We absolutely loved our stay in early October! The house was so cute and homey. We loved the gas fireplace; the enclosed back porch was bright, sunny, and perfect for sitting to watch the water and enjoy the peace. We very much appreciated the space heaters, and used them to cozy up the enclosed porch and our bedroom on those record-breaking chilly nights! Some may want to know that the home doesn't have insulation. But that didn't bother us a bit! We loved that it was just a little rustic and quaint and it was perfect for us! And the space heaters and gas fireplace were more than adequate for the job! The view of Union Bay from the bedroom, back porch and enclosed porch was absolutely gorgeous. The house was an easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia as well as for a quick trip to the local Walmart for supplies. We had lobster and the best cold cider ever at "The Travelin' Lobster," (the most highly recommended place from a local friend of ours). We really enjoyed the ambience and service at Side Street in Bar Harbor. The main park loop in Acadia National Park is breathtakingly beautiful, and we loved it so much that we grabbed coffee and just drove the loop twice during our stay. Worth the time and views! So relaxing! Bar Harbor was fun to explore with nice shops, ice cream, restaurants, and coffee spots. Coffee Matter was so cute with two upright pianos with signs that said "Play Me" and a beautiful flower garden. Highly recommend! Thanks to our hosts! They were great!
