Book before March 28th and receive a free night when you stay 7. Our charming "Castaway Cottage" is in the quaint neighborhood of Crystal Beach, known for its seaside-styled cottages and white picket fences, and has the look and feel of a "beachside bungalow." Access the most beautiful beaches in the world, by way of the public beach access that is only two short blocks away from your private beach retreat. Cruise around the beach in your own private GOLF CART (available with damage deposit) or with our beach bikes! OR just enjoy your own private pool!

A Warm and sunny "Beach Theme" welcomes you into the spacious and comfortable living and kitchen combination. Both the front porch and back deck are perfect for enjoying the lush Florida landscape and sea breezes. The master bedroom features a plush king bed with TV and its own private bath with sit down dressing vanity. Each of the other two bedrooms features queen beds, TV's with DVD, plus a shared bath.

Young and old alike will have fun in the kid's alcove, complete with 32 inch TV with PlayStation 3. Cable TV is available in all 3 bedrooms, and there's a 55 inch flat screen in living area, with 70 channels, as well Blu-ray player plus an assortment of complimentary movies for you to view. For those who can't leave work behind, we also have free Wi-Fi and long distance in the US.

The interior decor is tastefully furnished with a beachy feel, just the way we would want it to be if we were living there, because we want you to be comfortable and return, year after year, to our "Castaway Cottage" in our vacation rental in Destin Florida! "Castaway Cottage" also welcomes pampered vaccinated pets because we know pets are family too.

Charming and comfortable home that is conveniently located near plenty of shops, restaurants, and the beach. We especially appreciated that the house was stocked with cleaning supplies and spices and that there were numerous bathroom and beach towels at the house. And you will need those towels because you’re going to spend a lot of time enjoying the private pool.

Excellent Property

Despite the weather (cloudy and windy all week), we had a great time. The house was comfortable and clean. The beds were comfy. The pool area was great. There were plenty of beach towels and totes - we didn’t need to bring our own. The cable TV was a bit of a downer as we’ve been streaming for years. Overall, we would stay agin.

Lovely Stay at the Castaway

The Castaway is a lovely property. It was our first time in Destin and Crystal Beach is wonderful. The Castaway is clean, great location and the amenities made our stay even better. We loved the backyard and spent many hours relaxing by the pool and on the shaded patio. This place has everything you need and more. Loved the close proximity to the beach.

The check in was very easy. The entire property was beautiful and very clean. We also loved the location being only a couple blocks from the beach and shopping. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. Darwin and Patty are so helpful and friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. This place is an absolute gem and you will love your stay here.

Great place great location

Patty is a great and fast communicator, house was as advertised nice pool, golf cart and bikes are also a great bonus. Beach access is maybe 4 blocks total easy 5 min walk even with kids. The beach access that’s near the house has free parking for golf carts. Thanks for having us and letting us bring the dogs we had a great time.

Wonderful stay

This was our first trip to Destin and we are so happy that we chose the Castaway cottage. The house is very nicely decorated in a beachy theme with lots of personal touches. The beds were comfy, the towels are plush, and the cottage was well-equipped with items for the beach and pool. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need for your stay besides food of course. The distance to the beach is about a quarter of a mile so you could easily walk. The golf cart made going to the beach easy and enjoyable if you were taking chairs and floats. The pool was also a big hit during our stay. The temperature of the pool was refreshing, even though we stayed during August. We loved the Castaway and will return!

PARADISE IN DESTIN

What can I say, Perfect in every way is the only way to describe this cottage. Not only is it beautiful on the inside and out but it holds everything you could ask for to ensure the best vacation of a lifetime! Patty and Darwin have left nothing to chance to make sure all you have to do is relax. Relax is just what we did! The location is so central that you really never need to move the car. Just take the Castaway Cart wherever you need to go - the beach, great shopping, movies and outstanding restaurants are just a zip away in your personal transport. The salt water pool was a "dream come true" followed by a good book on the beautiful covered porch. I can honestly say that this cottage was the best rental experience I have ever had. If you have the opportunity you should take advantage of very special cottage for a vacation you will never forget. Personally, I can't wait to get back again!!!!!!!!

Exceptional cottage! Wonderfully decorated and comfortable!

I was impressed the minute I stepped foot inside the Castaway! No detail was left unturned and I am hard to please! We walked in and there was a lovely gift for me on the master bed. That gift made me feel like I was appreciated and the extra touch was thoughtful. The furniture was comfortable and well maintained, and the decor was fantastic. My kids had a blast roaming the area both by foot and using the pirate golf cart. We walked to the yogurt shop almost every night for a treat, and it took us three minutes! And coffee or smoothies at Camille's was right up the street. The weather wasn't great, but it didn't matter much as I was very comfortable relaxing on the back porch with a good book. The TV's in each bedroom was a good addition. The master bedroom and bath were FANTASTIC. The bed was a little too high (maybe a step stool would help) but very comfortable. I have been coming to Destin for 30 years and this is my most favorite cottage. Many friends stayed in other cottages in the neighborhood and Castaway was by far the nicest. The pool was great, plenty of lounge chairs and an umbrella. The privacy fence was perfect for those who want quiet and seclusion. The added touches make this cottage the perfect spot for anyone looking for comfort, relaxation and fun! Thank you to Diana who was on hand to help with anything we needed. She was great--made us feel very welcome.

Lovely, relaxing vacation retreat

My husband, Mom, and small dog all stayed at Castaway for 3 week. We had a great time, and we plan on returning. The neighborhood is very quiet. The house is very clean and well stocked (towels, cleaning supplies, pots/pans/utensils). Patty even starts you off with paper towels, napkins, laundry detergent, and toilet paper, and the kitchen is stocked with salt, pepper, oils, and some spices. The master bedroom/bathroom has recently been remodeled, and it is lovely. We had comfortable beds and good water pressure (which is important for someone with long hair like me). We were greeted by a brand new, full size washer and dryer. The pool is fabulous, and we enjoyed swimming every day. You can walk to the beach from the cottage, but there is also golf cart parking right by Camille's restaurant. We enjoyed walking the beach every evening. The cottage is in the middle of everything - you can walk to Publix along with drugstores, restaurants, nail salons, etc. I saw another reviewer mention dust. The house was very clean when we arrived. There was a little dust here and there, but you should have seen the highly rated, brand name hotels we stayed at during our drive to and from Destin - dirty bathrooms, no housekeeping service, torn and stained towels. Hotels are not what they used to be before Covid, and Patty's cottage is fabulous, clean, and quiet retreat. We had such a good time we didn't want to leave. Thank you Patty!

A great place

This was an excellent place to go for a group of 4 people. With the golf cart, the beach is literally 2 minutes away and the private pool is a very, very nice bonus. Also, don’t bother bringing any kitchen items, including spices because the kitchen is very well stocked. Our dogs were also able to come with us, so overall a great place to stay in Destin

Your private oasis home away from home!

CastAway Cottages was beyond our expectations! We were blown away by the detailed decor and we loved the volcano scent throughout the entire cottage. They have everything you need which was the first for us to ever see. The pictures don't do CastAway Cottage justice! The private pool was amazing and we loved the 10ft. fences for privacy and the grill, beach chairs, seashore fountain, patio, and palm trees was a plus. The buggy was alot of fun to get around town and was great use of transportation. Patricia accommodated our pups and they had so much room to relax in. Even our Uncle loved Castaway. Thank you for the hospitality. :)

Just What We Needed

This home was just what our family needed ans just the right size for our family. Our twenager and pre-teen each had their own space. The living space is comfortable and super functional, kitchen is well appointed, the house is well decorated and inviting. We took our coffee on the front porch every morning and really enjoyed the pool and covered back porch every afternoon. It was extremely relaxing. The golf cart made going to the beach and some of the nearby restaurants very convenient and there is something about moving around in a golf cart that just really makes you feel like vacation. Hosts were great, great communication prior to arrival. We will definitely be back!

Great location!

Everything was great. The location was unbeatable- in a nice neighborhood, close to the beach. The price was reasonable. New appliances, comfortable beds, clean linens, ample furnishings, plenty of beach towels, dishes, etc. Having the washer and dryer was a huge plus. The pool was fantastic! I gave it an overall 4 star because the bathrooms, particularly the tub/showers, really need to be updated. I would recommend it to my friends / family.

Teresa, the guest bath was just updated, the master bath has been partially updated and a work in progress. We just bought all new patio furniture, new grill, new appliances, new bedding. So glad you liked our cottage.I also didn't give you a 4 star, because you did replace the chairs you broke, even though now they don't match and I will have to replace them anyway.
