About this property

The Getaway 1 bd/1 bath on the lake with beach, kayak and dock

One of five cottages that are part of Randall Lake Cottages. The cottages sit on the shores of Randall Lake, one of seven all sports lakes in Coldwater's northern chain of lakes. The Getaway is our cozy one-bedroom cottage. The maximum occupancy is 2 adults, 2 children. You get all the perks at a fraction of the cost. The cottage has one full bed and one sofa bed. You will have your own patio, grill, and fire pit, where you can sip your morning coffee, enjoy a lakeside barbecue, or wind down the night admiring the stars.

Whether you’re into fishing, kayaking, or boating, there’s something for everyone. This property is located directly across from the boat launch, so bring your own boat, as each cottage has its own boat space on our expansive dock in the channel. Or enjoy the lake by swimming on our 2 sandy beaches or using some of our supplied Kayaks/Canoe. Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place.

Horrible experience

Was sent a confirmation. Then after driving 4 hrs. Didn't get arrival response couldn't get ahold of property manager, couldn't get in. Eventually had to find hotel. Never again!

Everything that could have gone wrong, unfortunately did. Laura was our first guest on VRBO. I did not realize when I set up our properties our hosting account was setup with my personal email address, vs my business email address (my account was set up years ago for travelling, until recently I started hosting). VRBO sent her an automatic booking confirmation, and I unfortunately did not see her booking until 5 hours after her check in time. This was 100% my fault. I felt absolutely terrible. I reached out to her through phone calls, text and VRBO but received no response. I do not blame her. I'm sure at this point she had already secured other housing. That night, I fixed the email issue, added a co-host to ensure I never miss another booking, and called VRBO to ensure she received a full refund. I also reached out to Laura letting her know for the second night of her stay she was welcome to stay at the Getaway for free if she wanted. Unfortunately, this was a terrible way to begin our VRBO journey, especially for Laura, but I can assure you I have taken the necessary steps to ensure nothing like this happens again. We have had multiple stays at our cottages over the past 2 weeks between AirBNB and VRBO that have all gone smoothly and all reservations going forward will continue too as well.
