Why they chose this property
This is a large, welcoming family home. Amherst is an area in Western Massachusetts populated by artists, writers, and academics. The cultural and entertainment resources include bookstores, libraries, galleries, a fine arts cinema, live music venues, and scenic parks. The surrounding area is rich with working farms and CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture). The area is replete with farmer's markets including one in the center of Amherst, loved by Harrison Ford.
What makes this property unique
The house has a distinctly literary feel stocked with books and has a salon-like feel. The house is "charming in a wonderful, rambling way. We loved the decor, the art, the books; we loved the light-filled rooms." (guest, Caroline M.)
