Upon arrival, the home was clean and inviting. There were plenty of amenities in the home as well as in the community to keep my family busy, having fun and making memories.
Overall was a nice space with a great screened in porch. There was poison ivy in the backyard by the fire pit which was concerning with children around. You can tell they allow pets in the home, so not great if you have allergies. Was a great location and an easy walk to the pool and beach. We had a nice stay with 5 adults and 2 children.

Hi there! Thanks for pointing out the poison ivy. We treated the area so should be all taken care of! Hope you will return.
We had a great weekend in the Hideout! The house was just as pictured. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the house. Bathrooms and bedrooms were especially clean and nicely decorated. The screened in sunroom was a favorite, especially for breakfast. We enjoyed the game room and Firepit. The location of the house was very convenient. Just a quick drive or walk to the pool/beach. I would recommend this house to friends and family. Thank you again for a great stay!
Our group, which included 4 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 infants stayed at this property for a long weekend. The property itself is clean, spacious, and has all of the amenities you would need for a nice stay. The covered porch was a nice addition given that it rained most of our first day there. What makes the property even better, particularly for kids, is the ability to utilize The Hideout community amenities. The property is a 2 minute drive or an easy 10 minute walk away from the main lodge, beach area, pool, and tennis/pickleball courts. Our little ones (and the adults) really enjoyed it and would definitely stay again in the future. Thanks Candace and team!
We had the most wonderful week at House in the Trees! From the moment we walked in, we loved how open, airy, and full of light it was with skylights everywhere. The screened porch quickly became our favorite spot for family dinners. Everything was immaculate, comfortable, and so thoughtfully stocked—it felt like home right away. The location is unbeatable. In just a few days we swam, fished, hiked, went to the zoo, and even toured a coal mine—and still couldn’t wait to come back and relax at the house. It’s the perfect mix of peaceful and private, but close to everything fun.The owner was fantastic—so responsive and helpful. Check-in was a breeze and communication was excellent. Honestly, I wish we could give more than 5 stars. This is a true gem and we can’t wait to return!
We had a large group, and this house was perfect for a long weekend. Longer stays would be for smaller groups. The only issue is the upstairs bedroom gets very hot & the ceiling fan up there doesn't work.

Thank you so much for your stay! We have a brand new HVAC system that was just installed, so we’re so sorry to hear you were hot in the upstairs bedroom. The HVAC contractor went over and rebalanced the system to ensure the room stays cool. We hope you will stay with us again!
Beautiful home and convenient to the ski hill. Game room downstairs was great for the kids. Coffee bar was well stocked. Appreciated the snow shovel and salt, since it snowed while we were there. There is no dishwasher (listing says there is one); not a dealbreaker, but would’ve been nice to know in advance so we could bring paper plates and plastic utensils. The double doors in the kitchen and basement lock, but you’re able to pull them open them because there’s no latch to the door frame. There was only enough hot water for two showers, then we’d have to wait about 45 mins or so for enough hot water for more showers. Again, not a deal breaker, but inconvenient.

Thank you so much for your stay! We double-checked to make sure a dishwasher is not indicated on the listing — sorry for any confusion there. We will make sure instructions for the door latch are explained in the manual. Also, the hot water heater was just replaced. We hope you will stay again!
The house was clean and rooms were comfortable—mostly as advertised. The coffee bar was very nice. Games in basement were fun. I don’t wish to downgrade too much, however I do want to note a few amenities that were missing and/or would improve the overall comfort level—tissues should be in all bathrooms, as well as more than one face towel per bathroom; no paper towels/-we bought our own; no hair dryers as advertised. A small sample of laundry detergent would be a nice addition for emergencies until guests can get to a store. There is no dishwasher, which is okay but this doesn’t match the generalized house instructions. The basement is absolutely freezing in summer—a few space heaters would help! Also it’s a dog friendly house but there is no manicured grass anywhere, so your dog should be comfortable going on dead leaves and rocks, etc. Walking the dog in the street to find grass felt a little dangerous, esp. at night. We went to this location to meet extended family outside of this community, so we did not really take advantage of community activities which did look great but I can’t comment on them!
