Everything was wonderful at the guesthouse, from the spotless room to the amazing location overlooking the beach! We enjoyed the snacks and the room was comfortable and nicely decorated! The location was very convenient, and we loved the Italian restaurant nearby. We would definitely stay again!

I follow my guests lead on whether they like to interact or not. Maria and her husband were delightful, interesting, respectful and appreciative! The little beach studio was left neat and tidy. I am hopeful to have an opportunity to host them again!
We stayed here after a long week of camping to visit some more family, it had everything we needed to stay comfortable! Cute, clean and comfortable bed, which was a huge bonus! Beautiful location. Minutes from the water and a short drive to town with tons of restaurants!

Kaeli was a fantastic guest! Left the place neat and tidy, was considerate and appreciative of the space and surroundings. Would gladly host again anytime!
Met all our needs for our quick trip and stay. Cute idea to convert the garage into a guest house. The bed is not as comfortable as we would have liked but it’s a very cute functioning space with a good view. It was quiet as well. Would stay here again if I’m ever back that way.
A peaceful escape, close to everything yet far enough away for blissful evening silence. Sweet studio space was perfect for my long weekend stay while participating in the Anacortes Art Festival. Beautiful water view from the sitting space, comfortable bed, well appointed for anything one might need for a getaway. Check in was simple and seamless. Host was gracious and attentive to messages. Would absolutely stay here again.
Such a charming and well-kept vacation rental! The space was spotless, and I really enjoyed the fun kraken theme throughout. The host was friendly and provided clear, helpful instructions for both check-in and check-out. One of my favorite features was the outdoor table—perfect for enjoying morning coffee or relaxing with takeout in the evening
We had a wonderful stay here as a home base amidst a friend’s wedding weekend. It was the perfect sized accommodation for a couple, and offered a great location to Mt Vernon, Anacortes, & La Conner. Lisa was very kind and communicative and generously offered recommendations for hikes and fish & chips locally. Some practical features that made the stay great: a portable air conditioning unit (& heater for colder months!) which made the space very comfortable on a hot weekend, patio set for morning coffee and designated parking. It was a wonderful stay, we highly recommend!
I was looking for someplace peaceful to rest & focus. This was it with a view. Pitch black at night & so quiet you could hear the owls.

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
It got very warm inside, even with air conditioning on. I was unable to get the keybox to work properly when I left. I left note, on table with key, didn't hear back about it.Super steep gravely driveway hard to navigate at night, put up markers. ok weekend stay.
POSITIVES: location, good bed, filtered water, quiet at night, fab toilet, towelsNEGATIVES: stepping out of bed onto cracked concrete floor..yuck, steepness of driveway is not good for seniors, no towel racks (your octopus hooks are cute but you've got a whole wall you could use for racks or shelves), nowhere comfortable to sit...can't read in bed, chairs are not comfy, need 1 more place for luggage...like to the left of the sliding door as you walk in, and no TV....really no TV? SOMEHOW i missed that in the listing. Also, shampoo was nasty smelling.
The property was excellent. Our host was great. Just what we needed. We did have a problem with VRBO and their "policy" of charging and collecting the damage deposit. VRBO does not want me to include dates or amounts in this review, so I won't. Our final payment was due **/**/**** and at that time my credit card was charged a ****.** damage deposit. OK I understand. When we checked out on **/**/**** we found out that VRBO's "policy" is to hold damage deposits for two weeks. Even though there was no damage. We finally received our refund on **/**/****. Wow bad business VRBO!!! Once again, I want to reiterate that the host and property are top notch. A great place to stay if you don't mind VRBO's "policies".

I grew up in Port Angeles, Wa. I love to hike, Mountain bike, explore beaches, golf and I'm a foodie!
What makes this property unique
Similk Beach used to be a resort back in the 50's. We purchased one of the original cabins from the family who owned the oyster farm and golf course as well as most of the property in and around the inlet. It's hard to believe the neighborhood is only .7 mile from the hwy and 7 minutes to Anacortes as it feels far away with all of the surrounding nature and serenity. Awesome beach access for paddle boarding, kayaking and the inlet is shallow so in the warmer months it's great for swimming! The proximity to great food, shopping, hiking, wineries, whale watching, island-hopping is second to none!
